Cindy McCain says she’ll never release her tax returns

May 8th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - Cindy McCain says she will never make her tax returns public even if her husband wins the White House and she becomes the first lady.

“You know, my husband and I have been married 28 years and we have filed separate tax returns for 28 years. This is a privacy issue. My husband is the candidate,” Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting John McCain, said in an interview aired on NBC’s “Today” on Thursday.

Asked if she would release her tax returns if she was first lady, Cindy McCain said: “No.”

The Arizona senator released his tax return last month, reporting he had a total income of $405,409 in 2007 and paid $84,460 in federal income taxes. He files his return separately from his wife, an heiress to a Phoenix-based beer distributing company whose fortune is in the $100 million range.

OK, now I am left with no choice but to defend McCain and family, if I am nothing else, I am fair, and if you’re right, then by God you’re right, and in MY not so humble opinion, Cindy McCain is right…

Cindy McCain is an articulate, wealthy and very attractive woman, but she is NOT running for the presidency, John McCain is, so, I have to ask this, why is Howard ‘the duck’ Dean off on a rant about Mrs. John McCain and her tax returns??

What about that unwritten rule about family being off limits??

That is all you hear from the Democrats when it’s Lil’ Chelsea out there on the campaign trail working her stuff, are the Dems really that hypocritical??

Wait, you really don’t have to answer that, it turned out to be a lot more rhetorical than I had planned…

Girl Dies After Parents Pray Instead of Seeking Help

March 26th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WESTON, Wis. — An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday.

Everest Metro Police Chief Dan Vergin said Madeline Neumann died Sunday.

“She got sicker and sicker until she was dead,” he said.

Vergin said an autopsy determined the girl died from diabetic ketoacidosis, an ailment that left her with too little insulin in her body, and she had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness.

The girl’s parents, Dale and Leilani Neumann, attributed the death to “apparently they didn’t have enough faith,” the police chief said.

They believed the key to healing “was it was better to keep praying. Call more people to help pray,” he said.

The mother believes the girl could still be resurrected, the police chief said.

Girl Dies After Parents Pray Instead of Seeking Help

It’s people like this that give Christians a bad name…

Moonbats come in all shapes and sizes, all colors and religious denominations but these people take the cake, the kid is DEAD…

Her folks say it’s because THEY didn’t pray hard enough?? And the mother believes that the girl could still be resurrected??

These people need to be charged with neglect of a child and voluntary manslaughter at the very least…

Before anyone gets all up in the air and starts throwing out accusations saying I am against prayer and Christians, you need to read a bit further, I’m not knocking prayer, if that’s your thing, great, I’m all for you, I know that 3 weeks ago, when I was so sick, I had a lot of great folks saying a lot of prayers for me, and that’s a wonderful thing, but if I had relied on nothing but prayer, I’d be dead right now, I was, according to my doctors, about 2 days from complete insulin depletion, I too was suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis, that was the exact diagnosis my doctors made, all along I thought I had the flu, but it wasn’t the flu, and I got to the point where I was so sick that my wife adamantly insisted that I was going to the hospital, even if she had to call 9-1-1 and get police and fire help to make it happen…

I gave in and went, still thinking it was the flu, and I was pretty surprised 3 days later when they got my sugars and some other stuff under control and told me how close I had come to dying…

And again, I am not denigrating the power of prayer, but had it not been for the skill and knowledge of my doctors, I would have been gone, just like this child, but I was physically that far down because I was too hard headed to listen to sound reasoning, Madeline Neumann had no choice in the matter, she was at the mercy of some idiots that were relying on nothing other than faith healing, and I suppose full faith healing is possible, I have heard the stories, I know a couple of folks that cliam to have had a full faith healing, be that as it may, to do nothing other than to rely on that faith healing exclusively, and to allow that child to die, in terrible pain, is nothing less than a travesty, believe me when I say, diabetic ketoacidosis is painful, just look at the symptoms, nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness, that was how I lost 63 pounds in 2 weeks, and I am still not back to 100% even now, but for me, things are looking up…

If these people had used some common sense and sought medical care for Madeline, in conjunction WITH prayer, odds are they’d still have their little girl today…
