Couple Wins Millions in Lottery - Twice

August 31st, 2007 . by TexasFred

NEW YORK (AP) - How lucky can you get?

Adeline and Eugene Angelo won $5 million Thursday after buying the winning ticket in last week’s New York Lotto. In 1996, they won $2.5 million after splitting a $10 million jackpot with three other people.

Eugene Angelo, 81, said he and his wife would share their new fortune with their three sons and their families. Taking the lump-sum payment of $2.5 million, Eugene and Adeline and each of their sons will get about $513,000 before taxes.

“We’re a little older, a little wiser and there are a few more of us, when you count the grandkids,” Eugene Angelo said. “We’re still the same old people. Still very excited. It’s a great feeling.”

Adeline Angelo, 74, a retired medical secretary, said she hoped the new money will “buy us good health and longevity.”

With the winnings from their last big prize, the couple moved from the Bronx to Putnam County, about 50 miles north of the city. Eugene Angelo said they would continue to live modestly. And still buy lottery tickets, “just for the fun of it,” his wife added.

Acting Lottery Director Gardner Gurney said this was only the third time in Lotto’s history that a winner has hit the jackpot twice. The odds of winning just once were 22.5 million to one.

“The Angelos are living proof that lightning, or in this case, random luck, can strike twice,” he said.

Couple Wins Millions in Lottery - Twice

Good for them, I love to hear stories like this, it makes Lotto players feel good…

I used to play the Lotto all the time, not so much anymore but once in a while I will buy a 5 line ticket, that’s what I always did, a 5 liner and no more…

Well, a few years ago I had a 5 liner and hit 3 out of 6 on 1 line and hit 4 out of 6 on a 2nd line, that was a decent little pay out, and I never pick numbers, I always do a quick pick…

Not too long after that, I was out of town on business and I called home that morning to check in with the wife and she told me, “You have no idea how close you are to being on a plane and headed home right now…”

Well, I thought something had really gone wrong until she told me, “I hit 5 out of 6 on the Texas Lotto last night…” and I have to tell you, if she had hit that 6th number we’d have fully retired, in comfort, right then…

I am very happy for the Angelos, I hope they live a lot longer and thoroughly enjoy it…

UN Inspectors Find Chemical in UN Office

August 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - U.N. weapons inspectors discovered potentially hazardous chemical agents in their office near U.N. headquarters that were probably taken from Iraq’s main chemical weapons facility 11 years ago, officials said Thursday.

“There is no immediate risk or danger,” U.N. deputy spokeswoman Marie Okabe said.

She said there was no evacuation of the office of the U.N. Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission known as UNMOVIC, about a block north of U.N. headquarters on Manhattan’s east side, and U.S. authorities were called in to dispose of the material.

Okabe said one of the substances, identified Wednesday, was phosgene suspended in oil, “whose present state is unknown but which could be potentially hazardous.”

Phosgene can be used as a chemical weapon - and was used extensively in World War I - as a choking agent. Both phosgene gas and liquid can damage skin, eyes, nose, throat and lungs.Full Story Here:

I’ll be damned, there really are WMDs, and it only took the U.N. 11 years to find them, in their own offices…

No wonder these incompetent asshats can’t get anything accomplished in the world, they can’t even keep their own offices straight…

Maybe I owe Bush an apology, I mean, they were WMDs, he wasn’t totally full of crap, he just had his time frame all wrong, and attacked the wrong place, we should have sent the troops into the U.N. Headquarters…

I’ll bet Saddam would be relieved to know that huh??

Warriors For Innocence - Richard “Rockhard” Procida

August 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

From: Warriors for Innocence

Looks like Jack has himself a new lawyer. As reported here first, Jack posted a message on a “girllover” forum pleading for help from his fellow pedo scum. “Rockhard” answered him and offered his services as an attorney.

This particular “girllover” forum requires registration before you can post there. So Richard “Rockhard” Procida was a registered user before he could post that message.

He’s since become very active on that pedo scum message board, posting frequently.

“First, I am not a pedophile. I use Rockhard as a screen name on a lot of sites. It’s one of my screen names. It’s easy to remember, and it doesn’t necessarly imply anything about sex.”

He’s a pedo scum sympathizer as noted in his very next comment:

“I am committed to Jack’s cause, because I believe that those with a sexual preference toward children are unfairly villianized…”

Sexual preference? Pedo scum use terms like MAA, Minor Attracted Adult, and CL, Child Lover, to cover up the fact that they are SEXUALLY ATTRACTED to children and want to rape them. They talk about how if the child consented… In otherwords, if they groomed the child and forceably raped them…. That it would be a beautiful and loving experience for the child.

No, it would be rape, and it scars the child and their family forever.

Richard “Rockhard” Procida is saying that Jack’s free speech rights have been violated. Jack is doing more that just speaking about his sick and twisted pedophile desires, he’s taking action and stalking his victims. That’s right Richard, VICTIMS. Children who are targets of pedo scum are VICTIMS. Their families are victims and the communities are victims.

Richard then asks, “I hope this answers your questions.”

Oh yeah, you just revealed a lot about yourself and your twisted agenda.

Pentagon Disputes Parts of Iraq Report

August 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - Stung by the bleak findings of a congressional audit of progress in Iraq, the Pentagon has asked that some of the negative assessments be revised, a military spokesman said Thursday.

Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said that after reviewing a draft of the Government Accountability Office report - which has not yet been made public - policy officials “made some factual corrections” and “offered some suggestions on a few of the actual grades” assigned by the GAO.

The Associated Press has learned that the GAO report will conclude that at least 13 of the 18 benchmarks set to judge the Iraqi government’s performance in the political and security arenas haven’t been met.

“We have provided the GAO with information which we believe will lead them to conclude that a few of the benchmark grades should be upgraded from ‘not met’ to ‘met,’” Morrell said. He declined to elaborate or to spell out which of the benchmark grades the Pentagon was disputing.

What the hell?? The DoD gives the GAO the job of grading the Iraq debacle, the GAO does that job and is going to announce that Iraq is seriously lacking in their performance, so the DoD suddenly has some ‘new and improved’ information on the Iraqi debacle that will show it in a more favorable light??

Why don’t they just get Billy Mays to go in between Ka-Boom commercials and let that annoying asshat do a DoD Pro-Mo for them, I can see it now, Billy Mays, in his loud and annoying voice:

“Hi, Billy Mays here, speaking to you today for the Department of Defense concerning the new report on the effectiveness of the Iraqi government. Are you tired of those same old results from the MSM concerning Iraq?? Are you just fed up with the way Iraq looks on your TV and computer screen?? Well we now have ‘Sunshine in a Bottle’, it’s guaranteed to brighten up your outlook on Iraq and make you feel better all over, BUT WAIT!!”

“If you call within the next 10 minutes and tell one of our special operators that you heard about ‘Sunshine in a Bottle’ thru this special offer, we’ll include our high pressure sprayer and application device, that’s right, the high pressure sprayer and application device with an extended reach nozzle, that way you can blow sunshine up YOUR OWN ass, and that’s not all, for our 1st time customers we’ll also throw in a years supply of ‘Bullshit Repellent’ and if you call NOW we’ll double the order, that’s right, 2 bottles of our new ‘Sunshine in a Bottle’, 2 high pressure sprayers with extended reach application device, you can blow sunshine up YOUR ass and your friends ass at the same time, and 2 large bottles of bullshit repellent to keep all those bloggers that make too much sense go away and leave you alone, all this for a low one time payment of $389.99, and if you call NOW we’ll also throw in a CD of Alberto Gonzales singing Mexican Christmas Carols as our FREE gift to you! I’m Billy Mays and we’re standing by waiting for your orders, CALL US NOW!!”

At the White House, officials argued that the GAO report, which was required by legislation President Bush signed last spring, was unrealistic because it assigned “pass or fail” grades to each benchmark, rather than assessing whether the Iraqis have made progress toward reaching the benchmark goals.

“A bar was set so high, that it was almost not to be able to be met,” White House deputy press secretary Dana Perino said. “On the other hand, one of the things it does not take into account, which is not on the benchmark list, is the cooperation of the Sunni tribes, who have decided to fight back against al-Qaida.”

The bar was set too high?? OK, expecting a nation to stand on it’s own and to actually think that they would stand and fight for their country is setting the bar too high??

Ya know, given the apathy I see among some people in this nation, maybe that IS setting the bar too high…

TexasFred and WFI, Masters of the Blogosphere!

August 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

I am Oz, the Mighty and Omnipotent Oz, the ALL Powerful, all seeing Oz, you will ALL bow down and show me the respect a being such as I am deserving of… All Hail Oz!!

Possible WFI/TexasFred involvement in Strikeout 2.0?

A post on the Innocence Jihad community has indicated that in the case of the second round of strikeouts, we may be dealing with the same perpetrators as the last time around.

Specifically, the post is from a member of the community pornish_pixies which has the ignominity of being among the first groups attacked in both rounds–the entire community struck out the first time, a large number of regulars struck out the second. (PP is a friends-locked adult HP fanfiction community.)

Note: the following links in LJ-cut 1 redirect to sites with known or suspected association with Warriors for Innocence and the Texas Fred complex. We recommend, based on past reports of malware infections possibly associated with WFI/Texas Fred site visits, that you do not visit unless you are using a text-based browser (like Lynx or Sam Spade for Windows (which includes a wget-like tool) or a known secure “traditional” web browser like Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock Plus extension or Opera. We especially recommend that you do not use Internet Explorer if you decide to investigate these sites yourself.

Of particular concern, at least two communities seem to exist for tracking specific “pornographic” sites on LJ, and both are related to the Texas Fred complex PedoBLog Tracker and ACME Cleaning Services. (Particularly damningly, PedoTracker is known to be linked to WFI itself–it was used to record “pedophile blogs” in the original Strikeout.)

TexasFred Note:
I have never heard of these 2 sites and don’t have em linked on ANY of my blog rolls…

Well, this is the 2nd time these moonbats have tried to say I am some kind of Grand Poo-Bah of the hate what ever the hell it is they are crowd, Dark Christianity - “Warriors for Innocence”: Possible “Joel’s Army” group?, and by God, I want ALL of you to start paying me the honorable homage I so richly deserve, and sending the ‘dues’ money would be nice too…

I don’t know who or what this bunch of MOONBATS is but they are funny as hell, they think I’m in control of ALL of you, read this BS, it’s funny, and a bit disturbing too, these guys are very strange, they go on to link to several sites on the blog rolls, I am guessing they’re too stupid to know WHAT blog rolls are or what they are for, you guys need to read this…

Anger, Sadness Mark Katrina Anniversary

August 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - On the second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, anger over the stalled rebuilding was palpable Wednesday throughout the city where the mourning for the dead and feeling of loss doesn’t seem to subside.

Hurricane Katrina made landfall south of New Orleans at 6:10 a.m. Aug. 29, 2005, as a strong Category 3 hurricane that flooded 80 percent of the city and killed more than 1,600 people in Louisiana and Mississippi. It was the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States.

I have great sympathy for the folks of New Orleans, those that lost their homes, their businesses, their fortunes, I have great sadness for the 1,600-1,800 folks that lost their lives, and I extend my sympathy to their families over that loss…

The response by the government over the last 2 years has disappointed the folks of New Orleans, I know it has, I have friends and family from there and have family in South Louisiana, I have seen the damage, 1st hand, up close, not just on the news but with my own eyes and I have to say, when Katrina hit there was nothing that the government, state or federal, could have done to alleviate the damage that massive hit brought on…

The immediate response TO that area could have been a lot quicker in my opinion, but the Louisiana Army National Guard, the organization that is tasked with those type of immediate responses, the 156/256th BCT was in the process of pulling out of Baghdad and were staging in Kuwait for their return home when Katrina hit and there truly was nothing they could do…

The Mayor of New Orleans failed his city, he failed miserably, he left thousands of his citizens in the path of Katrina while he moved himself and his family to a safe place, he left those people there to die, he didn’t issue a mandatory evacuation order and he didn’t enforce that order, but even then there would have been people that ignored evacuation orders, they always do, and Hurricane parties are well know events…

The New Orleans police broke down during the pre-Katrina time period, they were taking their families to safer places as well, and I don’t blame them for taking care of family 1st, but thousands were left behind that may have left New Orleans IF they had had a way to leave, like, oh, maybe all those school buses that were left in place, empty, in ruin…

Protesters planned to march from the obliterated Lower 9th Ward to Congo Square, where slaves were once allowed to celebrate their culture. Accompanied by brass bands, they will again try to spread their message that the government has failed to help people return.

“People are angry and they want to send a message to politicians that they want them to do more and do it faster,” said the Rev. Marshall Truehill, a Baptist pastor and community activist. “Nobody’s going to be partying.”

I know there is sadness and anger in New Orleans, I have sadness and anger too, part of my sadness is caused by knowing that there are people in New Orleans that haven’t got the mental capacity to understand that New Orleans Is Sinking, and as this article points out, New Orleans - The New Atlantis? is a REAL possibility, and make no mistake, New Orleans is ’sinking even faster’ than in the past, and here’s the source of MY anger at those who remain in New Orleans, WHY should I put MY tax dollars into a futile attempt to save New Orleans from it’s inevitable disappearance??

Some estimates I have read state that New Orleans needs a cash infusion in the $30-35 BILLION range just to have a fighting chance, and that’s just to protect against future hurricane damage and doesn’t address the fact that New Orleans is sinking into the swamp…

If the elderly, the infirm and physically ill need a helping hand to get OUT of New Orleans and are willing to leave that sink-hole, great, that’s money I am willing to spend, but to pour BILLIONS of our tax dollars into a place that’s disappearing anyway?? Not MY money, and if the residents of New Orleans are too stupid to see this for themselves, let them stay there, let them pay their own way in life, and let them sink into the mud WITH their beloved city…

Maybe there’s a reason the Feds aren’t pouring BILLIONS of dollars into New Orleans, money that New Orleans says it needs, maybe our government isn’t as foolish as some believe it to be…

Maybe they realize that some things just aren’t worth the cost of saving…
