Skilled immigrants fleeing the U.S.

Skilled immigrants fleeing the U.S.

Lured by the prospect of climbing to the top of his field, New Delhi native Swaroop Ganguly came to the U.S. 10 years ago and earned a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005.

He became an expert in an emerging technology called spintronics, used to power semiconductors, and worked at several chip companies, including Freescale Semiconductor. But Ganguly, now 32, is moving back to India this summer.

Although he has been doing postdoctoral work at the University of Texas, he figures his prospects for research and professional development are probably better in his home country. “I feel quite excited about going back,” he says.

Ganguly has already accepted a job as a professor of electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The position will pay a fraction of the salary he had been earning in the private sector—about $15,000 compared with $100,000—but it will offer considerably more job security and the freedom to do the exploratory research he wants to do.

Adios, good-bye, best of luck, hope ya like your new life in Mumbai.

I guess the cost of living must be a lot different in India, an $85K pay cut? So he can have job security? And the freedom to do the exploratory research he wants to do? OK, if all else fails he can be an online technician for Dell, ‘Thank you for calling Dell Tech Support, how may we wreck your computer today?’

The departure of top talent in technology and science may also undercut the prospects for a recovery in the U.S., many economists say. These immigrants often start companies and come up with technological breakthroughs, creating new job opportunities for all.

Alright, here is where I begin to exhibit that really BAD TexasFred attitude I am so well known for. The U.S. economy will recover when U.S. companies stop outsourcing everything and return to American made, quality made and good old fashioned American pride. That, and a union busting like none ever seen before.

And another point of contention, maybe these immigrants do often start companies and come up with technological breakthroughs, creating new job opportunities for all, big deal. If they hire cheap labor, or even worse, outsource their business to 3rd world holes in the earth simply to enjoy a better profit margin, there’s no real advantage to these businesses being in existence in this nation to begin with.

The Obama Administration has said it will push for comprehensive immigration reform later this year, but it’s unclear if any legislation will pass or how it would affect skilled immigrants. One unresolved issue is how to define a “skilled” immigrant.

Obama is one of the primary reasons the HUGE downturn in the economy happened. He didn’t do it all, he sure didn’t do it by himself. George Bush started it with his ridiculous bailout. Obama just followed suit and then proceeded to give away every dollar we have in the treasury.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Watcha Gonna Do…?

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Watcha Gonna Do…

When a slick “community organizer” cons his way into the White House, you may be able to take him out of the hood, but you can’t get the hood out of him.

When Barack Hussein Obama interrupted a recent live media propaganda confab on his administration’s most critical national initiative (socializing health care) in order to accuse a local police officer of “acting stupidly,” he got more than my attention; he earned my disrespect — and that of most law enforcement offices and veteran officers across the nation.

I graduated from a state police academy at age 19 and worked as a uniformed patrolman for the next four years while completing my undergraduate degree. That was many years ago, but I can assure you that there is no such thing as a “former police officer.” You can take a trooper off patrol, but can’t get the patrol out of a former trooper.

On occasion when my kids and I watch the television program “Cops,” with its familiar theme song “Bad Boys” and cameras recording real patrol officers on pursuits and takedowns, they know that I am not so much watching the show as I am vicariously riding shotgun.

So when Obama used a national soapbox to unfairly chastise a local Cambridge, Massachusetts, police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, for arresting one of BHO’s comrades, Harvard professor Henry Gates, Obama also took a cheap shot at every sworn officer and veteran officer in America. It’s a big fraternity, and even a novice like Obama should have known better.

In the interest of *Fair and Balanced*, I ask all of my readers this, have any of you heard one word from the mouth of Obamanure regarding the murdered Border Patrol agent in California or the 2 Seminole County Oklahoma Deputies that were murdered over the weekend?

Go ahead, check ALL the MSM and blog sources, I’ll wait… *chirp, chirp, chirp*

Sorry, I was going to take a nap while folks looked around for sources claiming Obamanure was exhibiting great anguish and outrage over the deaths of Law Enforcement Officers but the chirping crickets kept waking me up.

No one found anything even remotely similar to that, did you? That’s because Obamanure only criticizes our police, calls them “STUPID”, and after he stirs the ire of the American public, tries to *kiss and make up* with a childish offer to ‘sit down and talk about it over a beer’.

Somehow, I am guessing that Dr. Gates may find a beer to be beneath his assumed social status. It seems to me that every Black PhD I have personally had any dealings with seems to think himself a lot more important than he actually is, and it would be a natural assumption that Gates would demand something in a green bottle, an imported beer at the very least.

In any event, Obama, who has himself been so steeped in a culture of ethnocentric elitism by mentors of racial hatred like his old “pastor,” Jeremiah Wright, could not help but assume that the arrest of Gates was the result of racism.

At the risk of being accused of racism yet again, this Gates tale of woe is simply an example of monkey see, monkey do. The behavior of Wright, Gates, et al, is an ingrained behavioral response that comes out any time their self assumed authority is brought into the equation. Question a person like Jeremiah Wright or Dr. Gates on ANYTHING and BINGO, right on cue, the RACE CARD is thrown. Sadly, in this case, the President of the USA picked up that RACE CARD, and instead of defusing the situation, he, Obamanure, threw that RACE CARD even further into the RACE CARD pot!

Border agent killed in unusual violence within U.S.

Border agent killed in unusual violence within U.S.

CHULA VISTA, California (AP) — Federal investigators scrambled Friday to find whoever shot a U.S. Border Patrol agent in the head in an unusually violent attack within the U.S. that has left a baffling trail of evidence.

Agent Robert Rosas, a 30-year-old, married father of two young children, was killed shortly after 9 p.m. local time Thursday while responding alone to a suspected border incursion near Campo, a town in rugged, arid terrain in southeastern San Diego County.

He was shot in the head and multiple times in his body and was dead when backup agents arrived, said Keith Slotter, special agent in charge of the FBI’s San Diego bureau.

Rosas was found outside his patrol vehicle near the border fence, with blood evidence indicating at least one suspect and possibly more had serious injuries, perhaps by gunfire.

Investigators don’t yet know how many shots were fired, if Rosas fired any shots himself and how many guns were used.

Hopefully, Agent Robert Rosas was able to take out at least some of his attackers. That won’t bring Rosas back, it won’t raise his children or console his wife, but maybe it will offer some degree of comfort to his grieving family. And to the Rosas family, my personal condolences as well.

Police in Tecate, Mexico, announced late Friday that they had arrested a man walking near the crime scene with a Border Patrol-issued weapon shortly after the shooting, the Los Angeles Times reported. The man, Ernesto Parra Valenzuela, 36, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to a news release.

Sadly, even if this guy turns out to be the one that murdered Agent Rosas, Mexico will not extradite him if the USA is insistent on enforcing a death penalty case against him. At best, if this suspect is returned to the USA, tried and found guilty, he would face life in prison.

Federal officials have expressed growing concerns that the drug cartel battles plaguing Mexico could spill into the United States with the targeting of U.S. law enforcement officials.

The cartels already have their people in place, some 12-20 million of them, depending on which source you believe regarding the number of Mexican ILLEGALS already in the USA.

I have been called a racist for my views on ILLEGALS, and that’s OK, except for one insignificant little thing, ILLEGAL isn’t a race. But a certain self proclaimed erudite professor hasn’t grasped that fact yet. So, I am going to give him another reason to call me a racist brute. By the way, the brute part, that’s the part he was correct on!

A Message for ALL Senators and Members of Congress

July 24th, 2009 . by TexasFred

A Message for ALL Senators and Members of Congress

If you Vote for the ObamaCare or Cap and Trade bills, YOU’RE FIRED!!

How simple can it be? We can’t spell it out in any more clear language than this.

Sen. Cornyn of Texas has said he will vote against. Sen. Hutchison has intimated that she may vote against. Hutchison is, at best, a wild card. I don’t know if she can be counted on any more.

One other thing, my Congressman, Mr. Sam Johnson (R-3), is as solid as a rock. He will NEVER vote for such nonsense!
