WASHINGTON (AP) - She’s been compared to Jacqueline Kennedy, is every bit as high-powered as Hillary Rodham Clinton was and has praised Laura Bush’s calm and rational approach to issues.

So what kind of first lady will Michelle Obama be?

It may be too soon to know - she’s probably still trying to figure it all out herself. This much is certain: She will be the kind of first lady this country hasn’t seen in decades: the mother of young children.

But Barack Obama has portrayed his wife as one of his top advisers and it’s a safe bet she will continue in that role at the White House, as first ladies before her have done. He has described her as the family’s “rock” and told Newsweek magazine she had “veto power” over his decision to run for president.

Is it true?? I don’t know, I guess we’re going to have to sit back and wait until someone deems it the correct time to release such a tape, but there are a lot of great blogs doing some serious speculation on the possibilities.

I’ve been noticing a lot of buzz in the ’sphere about the release of a video of Obama’s wife, Michelle, ranting about ‘whitey’ at the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ. Supposed to be tomorrow morning, Monday, June 2. Just in time for the Montana and South Dakota primaries.

Today, on ABC’s Good Morning America, Barack Obama lost his cool, calling names and making unspecified threats. Why? Ostensibly, it’s because the Tennessee Republican Party issued an Internet video featuring Michelle Obama saying she’s proud of being an American only because her husband is running for president. Well, yes, we all heard that awhile ago.

Here’s the news short and sweet, if you have a copy of the Michelle Obama video, in which she is lambasting white people (four different sources say she uses ‘whitey’ as an epithet) at Jeremiah Wright’s church, then there is an ultra conservative Republican billionaire who wants to pay your $1 million dollars for the tape. Why? He hates John McCain.

Now think about this, maybe there really IS a tape of Michelle Obama going nuts on the podium at the church of the infamous Rev. Jeremiah Wright, maybe Hillary KNOWS that this tape exists, maybe that’s the reason she has been so tenacious in her desire to stay in the race for president, knowing that a bombshell like this would blow Obama right out of the water, leaving her as the only viable candidate that the Dems have readily available.

If this tape does exist and is brought to public light, even the most ardent Dem supporters would be running for cover and proclaiming Hillary the chosen one.

I was reading thru a few sites that were talking about this tape and I saw a couple that said they wouldn’t show the thing if it was on YouTube or the like, simply because it would be an unfair attack on Michelle Obama and that wasn’t the right way to do this, that the candidates mate should be off limits, and to that I say, rubbish!! If she opens her mouth, she IS fair game, every word, every sentence, every nuanced look, it’s in the public domain and WE have a right to see it and either comment on it or not.

If it’s out there, lets see it, I’ll post it, as will hundreds and thousands of Republican and Conservative blogs, it’s time to put up or shut up, and if there is a Rove hand in this he needs to come on out into the light and show what he has.

Inquiring minds want to know and the very survival of this nation is at stake.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama has a message for Tennessee’s Republican Party: “Lay off my wife.”

Obama, his party’s presidential front-runner, and his wife, Michelle, were asked in an interview aired Monday on ABC’s “Good Morning America” about an online video last week by the state’s GOP taking her to task for a comment some considered unpatriotic.

“The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family.”

He called the strategy “low class.”

The video, posted on YouTube, centered on remarks Michelle Obama made while campaigning in Wisconsin last February, when she said: “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country.”

The four-minute video replayed the remark six times, interspersing it with commentary by Tennesseans on why they are proud of America. In a news release that included a link to the video, Tennessee’s GOP said “the Tennessee Republican Party has always been proud of America.” It urged radio stations to play “patriotic music” during Michelle Obama’s visit to Nashville last Thursday.
