Races an early test of Obama influence

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a very early test of President Barack Obama’s political influence, two states are choosing whether to continue Democratic rule while voters elsewhere elect a handful of congressmen and big-city mayors.

Elected just a year ago, the president has spent a considerable amount of time and energy trying to ensure that Democrats win governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey and pick up a GOP-held congressional seat in upstate New York.

In doing so, Obama raised the stakes of a low-enthusiasm off-year election season - and risked political embarrassment if any lost.

All three could.

Today is an opportunity for Conservatives to send a message to Washington. We are coming back, we are angry and it’s ALL about to change.

The only thing we have on the Texas agenda right now is the 11 constitutional amendments we are voting on. I am NOT going to try and tell anyone how to vote, it’s their vote and their decision, but I will say this, recently I had a pretty good online fight with a former friend about this vote. Most of the amendments have a lot to do with property and imminent domain. My former friend made the BOLD statement that the only people that need to be allowed to vote on this issue should be HOME and PROPERTY owners.

Needless to say, I totally disagree with that opinion and left no misunderstanding regarding that disagreement.

The person that I had this argument with is NOT a U.S. citizen. He IS a legal resident, but isn’t a citizen and can’t vote in our elections. I told him that until HE got off of his lazy ass and became a U.S. citizen, he really didn’t have a dog in this fight and that his OPINION was just that, an opinion. One that carries NO weight.

There was a discussion on Facebook last night, one of my FB friends was encouraging everyone to get out and vote today. Well, it seems that the apathy I talk about so much surfaced when this statement was made:

Greg Dill
Nothing significant on the ballot.

I was shocked to say the VERY least. I had to respond, and I did so in the nicest way I could possibly do so when I said:

TexasFred
1. Voted the 2nd day of early voting.

2. Anyone that believes that there’s nothing significant on a ballot needs to get the hell OUT of the USA and go somewhere that LIFE itself is insignificant… That was the most incredibly STOOPID thing I have ever seen on FB…

As I said, right now we have constitutional amendments on our STATE ballot, Texas issues only, November 3rd Constitutional Amendment Election, but there are NO insignificant ballots. Only an enemy of this nation would make such a statement. Only a cretin intent on spreading hate, discontent and voter apathy would dare to make such a ridiculous statement. In MY opinion, said cretin needs the crap slapped out of him as he’s sent to Cuba for a few years. Let’s see how insignificant our ballots are after that.

New Democrat Specter loses committee seniority

New Democrat Specter loses committee seniority

WASHINGTON (AP) — Arlen Specter’s switch to the Democratic Party has cost him his seniority on Senate committees.

The Senate passed a resolution Tuesday night that made him the most junior Democrat on the committees on which he serves. The resolution was passed after an agreement was reached between leadership in both parties and Specter, said Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. Manley said the seniority issue will be revisited after the 2010 elections.

Specter, 79, is seeking a sixth term next year in Pennsylvania. He has said he made the decision to end his four-decade relationship with the Republican Party because he was unlikely to win the nomination in a party that has grown increasingly conservative.

Specter serves on the Appropriations, Judiciary, Veterans Affairs, Environment and Public Works, and Special Aging committees.

New Democrat Specter loses committee seniority??

Well, he lost his credibility a long time ago, he lost any scruples he may have had, then he lost his mind. He became a full blown RINO before declaring his real label, Democrat. He might as well lose a few other things in the process.

The real winner here was the RNC, or, more accurately, the few Conservatives that remain IN the RNC, they now have one less RINO in the herd to deal with.

Specter was a Dem/Libber for many years, just like John McCain. McCain IS a Dem, he’s just not wearing the name, yet. Thus, the title of RINO.

When people like Specter place THEIR wants and desires above those that elected them to office, We the People have lost nothing when one of these @sshats goes away! We have a person like that right here in Texas, my state representative, Rep. Joe Driver (R-113). Driver made it fairly clear that HE didn’t like the idea of *Open Carry* here in Texas and he was not going to support it. Driver didn’t offer ANY numbers on what the people of his district wanted, he didn’t state that the overall opinion of his constituents was against the idea of *Open Carry*, he plainly stated that HE didn’t like the idea.

There is a message that the American people must convey to our elected officials. It doesn’t matter if that official is local, county/parish, state or national, we do NOT work for them, they work for us, and as such, they are in office to further the wishes of We, the People.

When a person runs for office, and wins that office, they become a servant of the people. Many elected officials seem to make that the very 1st thing that they conveniently forget! If Americans could just find a way to remind these guys of that fact.

Oh, wait, we DO have a way to make those officials aware, it’s called VOTING, if the elected officials are not meeting your expectations, vote them OUT. It’s that simple!

McCain booed after trying to calm anti-Obama crowd

McCain booed after trying to calm anti-Obama crowd

LAKEVILLE, Minn. (AP) - The anger is getting raw at Republican rallies and John McCain is acting to tamp it down. McCain was booed by his own supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions about Barack Obama’s character, he described the Democrat as a “decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States.”

A sense of grievance spilling into rage has gripped some GOP events this week as McCain supporters see his presidential campaign lag against Obama. Some in the audience are making it personal, against the Democrat. Shouts of “traitor,”"terrorist,”"treason,”"liar,” and even “off with his head” have rung from the crowd at McCain and Sarah Palin rallies, and gone unchallenged by them.

McCain changed his tone Friday when supporters at a town hall pressed him to be rougher on Obama. A voter said, “The people here in Minnesota want to see a real fight.” Another said Obama would lead the U.S. into socialism. Another said he did not want his unborn child raised in a country led by Obama.

“If you want a fight, we will fight,” McCain said. “But we will be respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments.” When people booed, he cut them off.

How long have I been telling you folks?? John McCain is NOT the man to be president of the USA. How many times have I said, “McCain is a hell of a lot closer to the Dems than he EVER was to the Republicans.”??

McCain is NOT the warrior he claims to be. McCain is NOT, in ANY way, a Conservative. McCain IS an appeaser, he wants to be PC and leave as few ruffled feathers as possible. McCain is a doddering old man and has NO business in this race to begin with, and I have preached that, long and loud, since day 1 when he announced!

“I don’t mean that has to reduce your ferocity,” he said. “I just mean to say you have to be respectful.”

Respectful?? This isn’t a church social Mr. McCain, it’s a battle to save this nation and if you don’t have what it takes, get the hell out and let a real fighter take your place.

I’m a NASCAR fan, and several years ago some of the guys were talking about Dale Earnhardt and respect on the track. One of them said, “You don’t think Earnhardt spun that guy out on purpose do you?” Well, the other announcer apparently knew Dale Earnhardt a lot better than his co-announcer did, he replied, “Dale Earnhardt would spin his Mama out to win a race!!”

Mr. McCain, you need to pay attention to that statement, and then consider this, Barack HUSSEIN Obama has already thrown friends, neighbors, preachers and family under the bus, he will let NOTHING stand in his way as he tries to get into the Oval Office.

The RIGHT side of this nation is angry, that means some Republicans and nearly ALL Conservatives, angered Mr. McCain, and disgusted, and when you couple that with the volatile financial market, one that I personally believe that you helped to bring about, well, the tensions are high, you get the idea…

If you are not willing to fight fire with fire, then you are NOT the man to lead this nation!

Read this full article folks, you’ll either be shaking your head in disbelief or possibly considering a vote for Bob Barr (L), and you know, that says a hell of a lot regarding the sad state that our presidential election process is in…
