Peter Falk – Lt. Columbo has died
I can’t think of a more fitting tribute to Falk or his character, Lt. Columbo!
Ah, sorry to bother you Mr. Obama, Sir. . .
Excuse me Mr. Obama, I mean President Obama, Sir. Um. . I know you’re busy and important and stuff. I mean, running the country is very important and — ah — I hate to bother you, Sir. I will only take a minute. OK, Sir?
See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering, Sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out. You know, no big deal, just some loose ends and things.
Hey, you have a nice place here! The wife sees houses like this on TV all the time and says, boy, she wishes she had digs like this, you know?
Is that painting real? Really? Wow! I saw something like that in a museum once. Oh, sorry Sir. I didn’t mean to get off the track.
So if you could just help me out a minute and give me some details, I will get right out of your way. I want to close this case and maybe take the wife to Coney Island or something. Ever been to Coney Island Sir? No? I didn’t think so…
Well, listen, anyway, I can’t seem to get some information I need to wrap this up. These things seem to either be “Not released” or “Not available.” I’m sure it’s just an oversight or glitch or something, so if you could you tell me where these things are I have them written down here somewhere — oh wait.
I’ll just read it to you. Could you please help me find these things, Sir?

Oh, but hey — listen! I know you’re busy! If this is too much for you right now — I mean — tell you what. I’ll come back tomorrow. Give you some time to get these things together, you know? I mean, I know you’re busy. I’ll just let myself out. I’ll be back tomorrow. And the day after…
What’s that Mr. President? Who wants to know these things?
We, The People of the United States of America want to see them! You know, We, The People…the ones that vote.
Peter Falk, TV’s rumpled Columbo, has died
NEW YORK (AP) - The best way to celebrate Peter Falk’s life is to savor how Columbo, his signature character, fortified our lives.
Thanks to Falk’s affectionately genuine portrayal, Lt. Columbo established himself for all time as a champion of any viewer who ever felt less than graceful, elegant or well-spoken. SOURCE
Rest in peace!
Great show. Great actor. Will be missed by many.
One of my favorite shows of all time, Columbo. His movies were hilarious, too. There was one with Alan Arkin, in which Falk played Arkin’s brother-in-law:
Arkin: You mean you were involved in the Bay of Pigs thing?
Falk: Involved?! I thought it up!
I once saw Falk at the L.A. Open golf tournament decades ago when I was a little kid. He was running in the 18th fairway, outside the cordon, to get to the 18th green for a good view of the climax of the tournament. Rebel on-screen and off! Rest in Peace, Lt.
The older I get, the more of my favorites pass on. Peter Falk was one of my most favorites and he never failed to pull a smile out of me no matter how dour I was feeling. Sadly, his last few years were complicated by Alzheimer’s, he deserved much more than that and I pray that he gets his just reward in heaven.
Columbo was one of my all time favorite shows as was Peter Falk. I do not think he ever really got all the credit and accolades he so richly deserved but the he was not one to ever complain about this, or much else.
Nice job on grilling the mullah in the White House here, Fred as we know Lt. Columbo would have done. One thing different about Columbo, he would never quit until he had gotten or drudged up all the answers and lies from obama and his ilk.
