GOP In Big Trouble
May 8th, 2008 . by TexasFredTHIS is what happens when republicans abandon their conservative base:
Shell shocked House Republicans got warnings from leaders past and present Tuesday: Your party’s message isn’t good enough to prevent disaster in November, and neither is the NRCC’s money.
The double shot of bad news had one veteran Republican House member worrying aloud that the party’s electoral woes — brought into sharp focus by Woody Jenkins’ loss to Don Cazayoux in Louisiana on Saturday — have the House Republican Conference splitting apart in “everybody for himself” mode.
“There is an attitude that, ‘I better watch out for myself, because nobody else is going to do it,’” the member said. “There are all these different factions out there, everyone is sniping at each other, and we have no real plan. We have a lot of people fighting to be the captain of the lifeboat instead of everybody pulling together.”
In a piece published in Human Events, the Republicans’ onetime captain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, warned his old colleagues that they face “real disaster” on Election Day unless they move immediately to “chart a bold course of real reform” for the country.
Sadly, the republicans are clueless. Just as the dems have raced at breakneck speeds to the left, so have the republicans. The feckless republicans have become the liberal democrats of 30 years ago and the dems have become out and out socialists. The conservatives are in a high state of urination…we’re pissed, folks, and the republican party is wondering why they don’t have any money or support.
The republicans are bereft of leadership and they will continue to flounder until they beg forgiveness of their conservative base and begin instituting some right thinking plans to defeat the destructive leftists who will likely dominate in the next election.
I got this from my very good friend Rich Glasgow at Isn’t It Rich, Rich doesn’t post as much as some of us, he has to work, poor guy, but I will tell you this, if Rich posts it, it’s worth reading…

I think the GOP is in big trouble this coming election. You think they would have learned in 2006 but nothing sunk in. McCain as the GOP candidate is all the proof one needs to see they didn’t learn a thing.
I keep saying we are in for a big free fall for the next 2 years. I only hope it finally wakes the near comma state of the conservatives. If we take action and hold our politicians on every word and every vote we can still lead this country to greatness even if we have liberal idiots in power.
You see we have the ultimate power, we have the right to vote them in or OUT of office. POWER is the most important thing to a liberal. Nothing else matters. Loss of power is unacceptable and they will do our bidding if properly managed.
Get Mad and get involved.
The nation you save may be your own.
Ablur, it can wake up “the near comma state of the conservatives” til hell freezes over, it’s not nearly as much the conservatives as it is the apathetic assholes in the Republican party that put McCain there, and the political procedures that allowed them to do so…
This is what happens when 2 parties control the whole shooting match, it WILL turn into a disaster eventually, and we are seeing that right now, it matter not which one of these pandering assholes gets elected, we’re going to have a liberal president, a socialist president or a goddamned undefinable halfbreed…
And to a huge degree it IS the conservatives too, way too many sat on their asses and did nothing, complacency is killing this nation as surely as apathy, and folks like us are the ones that are going to either pay or die trying to change this bullshit…
The rest may die, but it won’t be from effort, it’ll be when they are taken out by our enemies, and the shocked look on their faces will be a sight to see, well, it would be if we hadn’t already died in defense of what very little will be left of the REAL America…
And for just a moment I have to stick up for the politicians — they are as they are because large portions of the Idiot Public have DEMANDED their ENTITLEMENTS and always seem to vote for more, more, want, want.
But there is hope. A glimmer of hope. I’ll be writing about it shortly; it’s a movement that is starting in my area and, a movement that I hope catches fire (and CAN catch fire!) in every other community.
We wondered what WE can do on our level? I’ll be submitting an answer shortly.

Our two party system is taking this nation down the toilet. Our only hope is a strong third party. A third party candidate may not win the White House but if enough get elected to Congress, they can have the desired effect on legislation.
Another thing that needs to be done is term limits for Senators and Representatives. Six years for Representatives and 12 for Senators.
