Gunmen cross Rio Grande into U.S. after shootout

ESCOBARES — Gunmen crossed the Rio Grande into the United States near a shootout between where the Mexican military and a group of gunmen was taking place.

Several area SWAT teams responded about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to a ranch near Escobares, just across the U.S.-Mexico border, where a shootout broke out south of the Rio Grande.

The shootout reportedly began shortly after noon but details were not immediately available. Residents on the U.S. side reported seeing members of the U.S. Border Patrol and Starr County Sheriff’s Office securing the area near the border.

Border Patrol spokeswoman Rosalinda Huey said agents had been tracking a suspected drug load near La Rosita and pushed it back to Mexico.

Border Patrol alerted Mexican authorities of the suspected load and then found an injured Mexican national on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande, Huey said. Emergency crews rushed the man to an area hospital. His condition remains unknown.

The man, a suspected cartel gunman, had been shot by Mexican authorities, a separate U.S. law enforcement official said.

The official confirmed a group of as many as 15 gunmen had crossed the Rio Grande, though it remained unclear whether they were Mexican soldiers or cartel gunmen.

“We don’t know who they are,” the official said. “We haven’t gotten that information yet.”

Local authorities in Hidalgo County provided backup support along the Rio Grande as Border Patrol dispatched additional agents from the McAllen area to the incident in rural Starr County.

The experience was a bit unnerving for Ricardo Guerra, whose brother owns La Prieta Ranch in La Rosita. Guerra was overseeing the ranch hands shortly after noon when they noticed that the roads near the property became quickly swarmed with authorities.

“Yeah, you worry when that happens,” Guerra said. “We all went back inside the house. It looks like there was something going on over there (Mexico); we heard four or five shots from the helicopter. It looks like the (Mexican military) helicopter was shooting at the people on the ground over there.”

While he heard the shots, Guerra’s property soon swarmed with more than 100 law enforcement officials from various agencies.

“We saw them take one guy in an ambulance,” Guerra said. “He looked in bad shape.”

Gunmen cross Rio Grande into U.S. after shootout

This story was sent to me by a friend that lives in the Rio Grande Valley, fairly close to the place where this happened today. So far, the Mainstream Media hasn’t picked up on it, at least not that I have found.

Now the gentleman that sent this is not some overly reactive guy that’s prejudiced against the Mexican people, in fact, he is of Mexican decent himself. He is also a retired Police Chief from a major Department along the border, on the U.S. side, and in my opinion, his word is GOLD when it comes to affairs along that border.

For the sake of Operational Security I can’t release his name but I can show you the email that he sent to me and you can read the frustration that he, and most everyone else here in Texas is feeling.

You know Fred, those SOB’S, NAPOLITANO, defiantly denies any incursion into the USA and we have to put up with all aftermath. People who own property near the Border have owned the the property for years. It’s property that has been in the family of many many years. Now they have to fight the drug war from their back porch. On occasions the property owners will find hundreds of pounds of marijuana on their property, left their by the Cartels. So they do right and call law enforcement, who pick up the load. Well guess who gets threatened? Yes sir, you guessed it, the property owners do, for calling the police and turning in the load.

Who is going To help them, law enforcement? Yes, when they can. So the Administration says do not worry, they (Cartel) will not bother anyone, and they do not and have not crossed the border.

They cross the border daily and have hundreds of boots on the ground. Who in the hell were they shooting at? They were shooting at opposing cartel and the Mexican Army helicopter who also flew over the border chasing down cartel members. Hell, they shot one cartel member and left him for dead on the USA side. What did we do? We took the cartel member to the hospital to have surgery, which the taxpayer will pay the bill. I got this info first hand, and I can’t reveal the source, you understand Fred.

Incursions do not happen daily that I am aware of, but it happens frequently enough.

All the talk and all of the denials of Border Violence not crossing the BORDER INTO THE UNITED STATES? Hummmmm, could they be lying? Not POLITICIANS…

There is only one part of this email that I disagree with; Janet Napolitano isn’t a politician, she is a HUMAN SLUG sucking on the government teat and Obama’s ASS!

Here is the email response I made to my friend, with one slight edit, “And as long as that sorry-assed SON OF A BITCH (Obama) and his crew are in there, it’s NOT gonna change… And to be VERY honest with you, I don’t know if ANY of em will change it…”

I mean those words as sincerely as anything I have ever posted on this blog.

We ALL know that Obama is going to sit on his dead ass and do nothing about these types of border incursions, past Presidents have done little or nothing and Obama isn’t going to rock the boat and alienate what remains of his liberal base.

None of the current crop on the GOP side have come out with a positive plan either, except for Herman Cain. “It will be a 20-foot wall, barbed wire, electrified on the top…. And I would put those alligators in that moat!”, with as much comic fodder as Cain supplies, and as much as I am set against him, this is the one statement he has made that I can almost agree on, and sadly, I think he was just running his head when he said it.

Lets look at reality, a fence isn’t going to stop anyone, a wall won’t either, and there are many areas along the border where the terrain is just too hostile to cross on foot. There are cliffs that guard the border in many places along the Rio Grande and those areas would require a less intense monitoring than others.

I have been severely criticized by supposed Conservatives for my views on border security and have been called a racist for saying that ALL persons crossing at anything other than a LEGAL border crossing are nothing more than INVADERS and should be shot dead.

I have been taken to task for saying that I didn’t care what happened to these invaders that did make it across the border, and that I was NOT AT ALL bothered by the idea of them dying of thirst in the desert.

My statements regarding the fact that MY family is an immigrant family, a LEGAL one, was ignored by my critics, as was my statement saying I’d welcome LEGAL immigrants with open arms, as long as they came here to be AMERICANS, and nothing else.

So far, nothing I have seen, heard or read has done one thing to change my mind, on ANY of the above.

One thing that DOES bother me is the sheer stupidity of my critics. I am, according to them, a RACIST because I want to stop ALL ILLEGALS from entering the USA. Can someone please tell me when ILLEGAL became a RACE?

Make NO mistake America, we are at WAR along the US/Mexican border, the Invaders are our enemy, regardless their nationality, and when you are at WAR you show no mercy to your enemy. It seems that the bleeding hearts, liberals, the faux conservative, and the thought to be erudite among us have no idea how WAR is conducted.

Probably because they have never participated in one, in ANY way!

The way to get the media and nation’s attention is simple. The next time there is an incursion like this, shoot dead every one of the SOBs that are found. Hang them in a line from a fence like coyotes on a main road for all to see. Next call the MSM in for a picture shoot. MSM will go bananas about the horror of the situation.

Ya know, I am simply amazed…. If it doesn’t concern OWS, Rick Perry or Herman Cain, most folks on Facebook and many blogs tend to ignore *other* stories… Important stories… Stories that are LIFE and DEATH for folks in Texas, and all along the US/Mexican border…

It seems that many on Facebook, and the blogs, are either ignorant of the FACT that we have a SHOOTING WAR going on along the border, OR, they just don’t care…

Either way, the world does NOT revolve around OWS, Perry or Cain, people are dying on OUR border, American lives are in danger

What has Perry got to say about that?? What do ANY of the candidates have to say about it?

As Governor of Texas Rick Perry has made serious efforts to help along the border, but has anyone got a source to CANDIDATE Perry stating exactly what he would do about border security if he were to become President?

It is my belief that the candidate that addresses border security, and does so aggressively, will be the next POTUS…

  3. mrchuck says:

Are there any US Citizens still volunteering to go down on the border and provide surveillance?

Some years back there was a call for help to go do this.

Under the Posse Comitatus act, US Army Forces cannot be used.

So, It is up to the State of Texas, to supply the manpower to stop this infiltration of illegal aliens.

    • TexasFred says:

Ahh yes… Posse Comitatus, and it’s principle being the non-use of U.S. military on U.S. soil.

I firmly believe that is why so many of our State National Guard units have been sent to Iraq and Afghanistan for the last 10 years, they would be placed under FEDERAL ORDERS, thus making them subject to DoD orders and Posse Comitatus…

  4. TexasFred says:

Why Libs and FAUX Conservatives don’t understand WAR and how to fight it…
