GOP Benghazi probe stokes political controversy

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Republicans insist the Obama administration is covering up information about last year’s deadly assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, rejecting administration assurances to the contrary and stoking a controversy with implications for the 2016 presidential race.

Republicans on five House committees are pressing ahead with their own investigations despite an exhaustive independent review that blistered the State Department, more than 25,000 pages of documents sent to Congress and hours of testimony from former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Three State Department witnesses, including the former deputy chief in Libya, are scheduled to testify Wednesday before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee at a session certain to attract attention after recent disclosures from the panel’s Republicans.

The hearing is the latest in a long-running and bitter dispute between the administration and congressional Republicans who have challenged the White House’s actions before and after the Benghazi attack. SOURCE

Well, what can you say? The mainstream media, Associated Press, has actually taken up the idea that there IS going to be a hearing on the Benghazi tragedy.

Of course the AP isn’t accepting the idea that the testimony given by former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is a crock of crap. That’s what happens when the media is in the tank for the Obama regime, no matter the action, no matter the outcome, it must have happened because those EVIL Republicans are EVIL and are out to *GET* King Barack and Queen Michelle.

There are some in the media that claim the GOP only seeks the TRUTH because they are VILE racists and because Obama is Black. That is the spin from MSNBC and Chris *Tingles* Mathews if I am not mistaken.

Something that I find very interesting is this; the hearings are opening as I type this and so far, FOX News and C-SPAN are the only one covering it. CNN and MSNBC are covering the story of the girls in Ohio, a serious story no doubt, but NOT one that affects national security and this entire nation.

The state of our MEDIA is as big a travesty as is the state of the nation.

The report failed to placate GOP lawmakers, conservatives and outside groups, some of whom contend Benghazi is comparable to the Watergate and Iran-Contra scandals and deserves a thorough examination. Two of the outside groups - Special Operations Speaks and Special Ops OPSEC - have been raising money on the issue.

The GOP wasn’t placated because they were LIED to. They were fed a BS sandwich and were told that it was pure truth, because, after all, King Barack wouldn’t lie nor would he allow his vassals to lie. Would he?

The target of much of the conservative wrath is Clinton, a potential presidential candidate in 2016 who stepped down after four grueling years as the nation’s top diplomat with sky-high approval ratings. In her last appearance on Capitol Hill in January, a defiant Clinton took responsibility for the department’s missteps leading up to the assault while rejecting suggestions that the administration had tried to mislead the country about the attack.

She insisted that requests for more security at the diplomatic mission in Benghazi didn’t reach her desk.

“I did not see these requests,” she said. “They did not come to me. I did not approve them. I did not deny them.”

Yet Republicans are pressing ahead, holding hearings and issuing an interim report that criticized her.

And press ahead they must!

The truth is NOT a part of the Obama repertoire, it never has been and it never will be.

Many, myself included, hope these hearings bring down Obama and his regime. I don’t know if that is possible, but if not, I DO hope that these hearings bring TRUTH to the American people and put an end to ANY aspirations that Hillary Clinton may possess in making a run for the Presidency in 2016.

Stay tuned, this is getting real!

I watched all of the happenings on this pre-hanging of Hillary.
Maybe, just maybe, this is the pre-cursor of Hillary’s retirement from any more political aspirations.
    Shrillary is burnt toast now.

  2. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

    Two reasons for the cover-up:

    1. This went against the recent Obaka Meme that alQaeda were on the run and defeated, and
    2. It would have made Clinton look bad, and she is the NEW The One for the Demorats.

I watched the ISSA hearings. The negro eligja typically tried to “protect” obammy.
HE FAILED, and it was blatantly lying.

  4. Steve Dennis says:

The MSM can claim this is about political all they want to but the truth is it was the Dems who played politics with this issue when they downplayed the attack prior to the election. I expect more hearing with more testimony from people in the know and it might be a long process before we learn the truth, but is we ever do it will be the downfall of Obama and Hillary.

We now know that Hillary was on the phone with them and clearly knew that it was not some walk around guys looking for trouble. It was clear it was an attack. No you tube video.

    You want videos? Videos here.

This isn’t just about firing some people. This should be about putting people in FEDERAL PRISON.

Thanks for videos, BZ. This whole thing is the worst I’ve seen in a very long time. It’s worse than Watergate, no one was killed in that mess. It’s worse than Iran-Contra, even though some people died in that. This was a blatant turning the back on a most serious event, allowing it to happen for whatever the reason. It was needless death of people working for us in the field, it was giving unlawful orders to assets who could help for them to stand down, it made us look incredibly weak and uncaring as a country, and the reasons for allowing it to happen are so heinous, it baffles minds. It took 17 days for the FBI to get on scene, during that time whatever sensitive information was there was pilfered.
I’m convinced the Benghazi event was allowed to happen because it was critical in the plan to demote our great country in the eyes of the world. I can think of no other explanation. As Hillary herself said, “Never let a crisis go to waste. Don’t waste it because it could have some positive effect”. Those words will forever haunt us, there is power in those words, dark and evil, but power nonetheless. If this gets by without holding the regime responsible and taking appropriate action I fear for our country and our very soul as a nation will suffer badly.

My 2 cents: Hillary wasn’t going to win the presidency in 2016 anyway. She’s not painted the right color. The only reason Obama is president now is because 99% of black folks went to the polls and voted for Obama for his color alone. Once there’s not a black person running they will do as they always have, vote in small numbers.

Benghazi to me is more about our media’s failure to do what they were supposed to do. Our media the alphabet networks or state run media would be calling for resignation of a Republican president. They have played their hand again and the dumbass American public is so blinded by the affirmative action president that they don’t see the damage.

I can’t wait until we have a Republican POTUS so then at least the media will do their jobs. Although the state run media entity has lost all credibility now.
