House Republicans to try to impeach U.S. Attorney General Holder

Eric HolderWASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republicans in the House of Representatives plan to introduce articles of impeachment against Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday, in the hopes of removing a cabinet member they say has lied to Congress as well as failed to uphold federal law.

“This was not a decision that I made lightly. Since the House voted in 2012 to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, the pattern of disregard for the rule of law and refusal to be forthright has only continued,” Texas Representative Pete Olson, who drafted the articles, said in a statement provided to Reuters on Wednesday.

“The American people deserve answers and accountability. If the attorney general refuses to provide answers, then Congress must take action.”

The Justice Department did not respond to requests for comment on the possibility of an impeachment move. SOURCE

I have a close friend that is the Mayor of Rowlett, Texas and I have, on several occasions, mentioned to him that he should run for a seat in the U.S. Congress. Personally, I believe he’d make a fine Congressman and would represent us quite well. I also am convinced that his argument of not having enough education is not a drawback and wouldn’t be one.

Education doesn’t make you smart, it does give you knowledge but intelligence isn’t taught, case in point; Republican members of Congress plan to introduce articles of impeachment against Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday.

The resolution could pass the Republican-dominated House but would likely sputter in the Democratic-dominated Senate, which would have to hold a trial to remove Holder, who has been attorney general since 2009, from office.

I read a lot of political pages, web sites, blogs, message boards and the like and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there are some very passionate people that try to get their point across on these boards and make it known that they aren’t fans of Barack Hussein Obama, Eric Holder, Nancy Pelosi and many others on the Democratic side of the aisle.

Far too many of these people are either uneducated about the impeachment process or they let their hearts rule their heads and then they make a bold, powerful statement saying “We need to IMPEACH ( fill in the blank here ) and get them OUT of office, they are BAD for America..”

In most cases I have to agree with the *bad for America* part, but as long as there is a U.S. Senate that is under the control of the Democrats, impeachment of ANY highly placed Dem such as Eric Holder is not going to happen.

Yet these same people scream about impeaching the President.

Still, an impeachment drive would further fuel the tensions that exist between the federal government’s top law enforcement officer and conservative lawmakers. According to the media firm CQ Roll Call, 10 other Republicans would co-sponsor the articles of impeachment, five of whom are from Texas.

OK, let’s say, for the sake of argument, let’s say that Congress does introduce articles of impeachment against Eric Holder, what then?

It looks good on paper, that’s it!

2014 is an election year and if you want to know why these Congress Critters are beating the impeachment drum so loudly concerning Holder, simply look at who among them is up for re-election in their Congressional districts.

According to an outline, the first article is based on “Operation Fast and Furious” a bungled attempt to build cases against major gun traffickers who supplied firearms to Mexican drug cartels, while electing not to immediately prosecute low-level traffickers even as they bought 2,000 potentially illegal guns.

The operation came to light after two of those firearms were found in Arizona at the scene of the fatal shooting of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

The Congress loves to use Brian Terry as their example of WHY they are going after Holder for Fast and Furious but Brian A. Terry was MURDERED on December 15, 2010. That’s almost 3 years folks, and the best that these lame shysters in Congress can do is come up with *contempt* charges as a reason to impeach, or, more correctly, to attempt to impeach Eric Holder?

Operation Fast and Furious was another of those operations that some lame-brain in the Obama regime came up with and just knew it was going to be the next great thing and save the legacy of Obama, earning that person a LOAD of political chips in *the BIG game*. Turns out it was a *LOAD* alright, but it wasn’t POLITICAL chips.

BATFE was supposedly the agency that concocted Fast and Furious; BATFE comes under the auspices of the Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney General, one Mr. Eric Holder.

All Congress has is *contempt* charges? That’s it? That’s the best the U.S. Congress can do? And they are going to serve these charges and introduce articles of impeachment in an attempt to prosecute Eric Holder in a Democratic controlled Senate?

Apparently you don’t have to be too smart to be a Congressman. Who knew?

Maybe my friend and Mayor, Todd Gottel, is too well educated for Congress, or maybe he’s just too smart to sully his good name in the mists of Foggy Bottom.

I agree. Impeachment of Holder or any of Obama’s cabinet members will never happen. When Obama got reelected, that told me that Democrats in power can do whatever they want and get away with it.

I would rather have person with experience and common sense over education any day.

If we can’t impeach the criminal Eric Holder Jr., perhaps we can have him arrested and charged with Extortion, Criminal Conspiracy, Fraud, Money Laundering, Perjury, Accessory to Murder (Fast and Furious), and Dereliction of Duty, among other Felonies and Misdemeanors????

    On a related side note;

..Barack Obama is just inferior November 14th, 2013

    The Washington Times

Corruption scandals from Benghazi to IRS abuses hover. Obama repeatedly claims no knowledge of serious events when they go awry. Four Americans were murdered in Benghazi, yet Obama’s very whereabouts during the crisis remain shrouded.

Obama is disrespected abroad, and he is losing Americans’ trust and confidence at home.

Obama lacks one single honest success. He keeps speaking as more Americans tune him out.

While the left will never accept the truth, it is long past time to pose a theory.

Maybe Barack Obama is just inferior.

Let liberal skulls explode and leftist talking heads scream racism. The left obsesses over race, using it to prop up a man who entered office with a light resume of non-achievement.

Obama’s story of failure is his (collectivist/marxist/socialist/communist) ideology, not race. He has terrible ideas, and he implements those terrible ideas terribly.

Inferior. What other word describes a man not good at anything? (Same applies to Holder Jr.)

Fred, I agree , “It looks good on paper, that’s it!” As I started reading I thought they are probably doing it to try and look good. As for impeaching people, I too have had a lot of online friends that say, impeach Obama. What we wish and what is reality are many times two different things. That used to be mainly the thinking of Liberals, if they think it, it is reality. Now it seems many are choosing that route. Then again, maybe it is because reality really sucks right now, but living with reality is still the smartest choice.

Oh, I also wanted to say, perhaps your correct that your friend doesn’t want to get mixed up in the mess that is Washington politics. Sure would add a huge dose of stress to life, to say the least. Rush said, a long time ago, that many good people would never run for president because of the media attack they would go through. Well, he put it less politely. I’m sure that goes for other offices too.

Maxine Waters, Barbara Boxer, “Wuzzaman”-Schultz and the list goes on and on…
