TexasFred Blog Update #3

I'm TexasFredOK, I’m not a Dr. so don’t expect a lot of medical terms here….

As I understand it there are 4 muscles that connect the arm and shoulder… Attached at the rotator cuff I am guessing… There’s 1 in the front of the shoulder, 1 in the back and 2 at the top, with 1 of those being the main muscle for shoulder movement…

I have completely torn that one and done partial tears on the muscle in front of the shoulder and the secondary muscle at the top of the shoulder…

The orthopedic Dr. I am seeing is sending me to someone that is specialized at upper-body extremities because as he told me, I may be torn so badly that normal rotator cuff surgery won’t be a possibility and we may end up doing a shoulder replacement of some kind…

I go see this specialist next Wednesday and hopefully we can get the surgery scheduled, I am getting very tired of this hurting all the time and having to sleep pretty much upright in the recliner, I miss my bed…

I will try to keep everyone updated as this progresses, as long as I have a recent ingestion of pain meds I can type a little bit but even that gets too intensive in fairly short order..

Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes and prayers, it is ALL appreciated greatly…

As always, any monetary donations are VERY welcome, especially at this time…

Dang it, Fred. You’ve got to get that mess fixed. We need you to carry the guidon for us. That pain crap eats away at you and, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t be 100%. I know how frustrating that can be. My hopes and prayers are for docs to be inspired, and a quick and complete recovery!!

Best wishes and prayers Fred. This is troubling news indeed, but if they can fix the dang thing and get you back to business then it is good news. Thanks for the update.
