A One Question Test…

This test only has one question, but it’s a very important one.

By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

THE SITUATION: You are in Florida, Miami to be specific. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you’re caught in the middle of this epic disaster.

The situation is nearly hopeless. You’re trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

THE TEST: Suddenly you see a woman in the water. She is fighting for her life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer. Somehow the woman looks familiar. You realize who it is.

It’s Hillary Clinton!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take her under forever. You have two options: You can save the life of Hillary Clinton or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world’s most powerful women (in her mind, at least).

THE QUESTION: Here’s the question, and please give an honest answer.

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

Film choice? Kodak Gold 200. Color.

Moral choice? I would jump in, and attach an anchor or the nearest cinder block to her leg, and bid farewell to the “Smartest Woman In The World”, after pissing my pants in laughter, and singing, Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead.

    Talk about photo-ops.

    No brainer, right?

Morally, if you ask me, it’s a waste of film and a cinder block.

    Honest enough for you?

Where the hell do I get, not only my Pulitzer Prize, but Nobel Peace Prize?

    ROARS LAUGHING!

  3. Bluto says:

Well my wife says Black & White.

Frankly, I’m disgusted with the last question. I mean how could you????

    How could YOU???

How could you forget about VIDEO?

  4. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

With my very nice Sony DSC digital camera, 7.1 MP, I’d simply leave it on its standard setting; I could clean up the wrinkles, warts and all later, in PhotoShop CS.

It has got to be “dying” color. This could be the greatest moment in history and I sure hope my highspeed shutter doesn’t fail me. Too bad there are only 24 shots on a role.

Perhaps I could use the 10Mpix in high speed mode with a 4gig card. I could get a couple hundred shots. Wouldn’t want to mis a moment.

  6. Panhandle Poet says:

    Why waste the film?

And remember.. just in case you don’t have the camera or video recorder.. many cell phones have the ability to take stills, some can take short videos.

Morally I would do everything I could to save any drowning person… even Hitlery.. and then I would run for my life because my conservative friends would be all for drowning me for doing it. :-p
