Milwaukee County would boycott doing business with firms in Arizona to protest that state’s tough immigration law, under a measure endorsed Thursday by a County Board panel.
The county would avoid new contracts with Arizona firms or the state of Arizona and possibly discontinue any current contracts with firms in that state, under a resolution unanimously approved by the board’s finance committee. It also would bar county employees from travel to conferences in Arizona.
The aim would be to punish the state for the immigration law Arizona enacted last month that makes it a crime for immigrants to fail to carry immigration documents and gives police broad power to detain a suspected illegal immigrant.
Supervisors Peggy West and Elizabeth M.Coggs called the Arizona law racist.
“It reminds me of the days of apartheid in South Africa,�? said Coggs.
The resolution goes to the full County Board Thursday.

Elizabeth M. Coggs and Peggy West are a couple of very disillusioned people. For one thing, there is NOTHING racist about enforcing U.S. law or State law. Illegal is an act of being, it’s not a race.

Apartheid was a RACIST exercise if ever there was one. I’m pretty sure that the Blacks in Africa aren’t there illegally though. In fact, I’m fairly certain that they were in Africa LONG before the white man. What happened to Blacks in South Africa was RACIST. Enforcing immigration law is NOT racist, it’s enforcing the law!

Logic has nothing to do with it. This merely confirms they are GOWPs who, truly, may be “educated” but they have learned NOTHING and, further, can’t “interpret” or “conclude” rationally.
The AZ law is essentially a carbon copy of current federal law extant with this exception: it’s LESS strict than federal standards. California, for example, ALREADY has a law on the books on the order of federal immigrant laws.

Arizona is getting the Israel treatment. Boycott and try to destabilize the government. If the Feds lose their court case, I expect them to take full control of Arizona. It will be “For Their Own Good.” of course.
I have to admit that I was born and raised in Chicago, Il. It’s just a stones throw from Milwaukee. I’ve been in Texas since 1972, I got here just as soon as I could. Arizona is far removed from the border with Mexico? I wonder what school she went to and what kind of grades she got in geography, or do they even teach that any more, I did graduate high school in 1962 and I do realize that things have changed, but I don’t think Arizona has been moved and I’m pretty sure Mexico is sitting right where it was back then. These are the kinds of people we have in positions that govern our country. Scary, isn’t it. She spouts off without even looking into what she’s spouting off about. The sad part? There are probably people up there that believe her.
Some good news is that conservatives are making major moves in Wisconsin this year. People are getting very tired of the liberals in their state. Note Badger Blogger’s comment below.
As for the young lady lacking in education, I find this all over the country. Our schools have been dumbed down. It was astounding for her say to use Google on the topic but not even check the Google mini map that probably popped up at the top of her search. or to at least check out where Arizona is located.
Makes me wonder if we should all run something on our blogs to support the badger conservative blogger network tin their addressing the actions by Milwaukee County and this young ladies performance.

If it weren’t for Milwaukee and Madison, Tim Michels would have been Senator instead of Feingold. This is the same area that elected Dopey Jim Doyle twice, and keeps re-electing Potted Plant Kohl.
