Arizona boycott backed by Milwaukee County Board panel

Arizona boycott backed by Milwaukee County Board panel

Milwaukee County would boycott doing business with firms in Arizona to protest that state’s tough immigration law, under a measure endorsed Thursday by a County Board panel.

The county would avoid new contracts with Arizona firms or the state of Arizona and possibly discontinue any current contracts with firms in that state, under a resolution unanimously approved by the board’s finance committee. It also would bar county employees from travel to conferences in Arizona.

The aim would be to punish the state for the immigration law Arizona enacted last month that makes it a crime for immigrants to fail to carry immigration documents and gives police broad power to detain a suspected illegal immigrant.

Supervisors Peggy West and Elizabeth M.Coggs called the Arizona law racist.

“It reminds me of the days of apartheid in South Africa,? said Coggs.

The resolution goes to the full County Board Thursday.

You know, once in a while I get some really AWESOME emails. Today was one of those days.

Mr. Chuck, one of my very loyal, and long time readers, sent me a YouTube link that proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, what we all have long known. Liberals are STUPID! Do you doubt that? See the video. The IDIOT running off at the mouth is Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West. The same Peggy West mentioned in the above story.

Elizabeth M. Coggs and Peggy West are a couple of very disillusioned people. For one thing, there is NOTHING racist about enforcing U.S. law or State law. Illegal is an act of being, it’s not a race.

It reminds you of the days of apartheid in South Africa Ms. Coggs? Seriously? Apartheid?

Apartheid was a RACIST exercise if ever there was one. I’m pretty sure that the Blacks in Africa aren’t there illegally though. In fact, I’m fairly certain that they were in Africa LONG before the white man. What happened to Blacks in South Africa was RACIST. Enforcing immigration law is NOT racist, it’s enforcing the law!

After some serious thought, I am going to have to say, West is not stupid, she’s a MORON. Coggs is a MORON too, a very STUPID moron.

Milwaukee should be ashamed of itself for ever letting these 2 get in a position of power. I only hope that neither one has children, the gene pool needs to be cleaned, and these MORONS are a great place to start.

Key critics of Arizona immigration law admit not reading it

Key critics of Arizona immigration law admit not reading it

President Barack Obama and his administration began blasting Arizona’s controversial immigration law the day Gov. Jan Brewer signed it. But over the past week, a growing list of top administration officials, including Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, acknowledged that they haven’t read the legislation.

The revelations come as Republicans step up their criticism of the Obama administration’s response to the Arizona law, which makes it a state crime to be in the United States without proper documentation and directs local police to pursue, during a lawful stop, detention or arrest, the immigration status of people they reasonably suspect to be illegal immigrants. The law has generated calls for economic boycotts of Arizona and has led to five lawsuits, many filed by civil-rights groups.

On Thursday, Holder, who has a team of Justice Department attorneys reviewing the statute to prepare for a possible legal challenge, told the House Judiciary Committee that he had only “glanced at it.”

“I have not read it,” he said.

Would I be out of line by pointing out something that is very obvious? We are a nation governed by MORONS!

Our President sides with Mexico against the wishes of the voters and Governor of Arizona. The POTUS refuses to enforce U.S. law and condemns those that do enforce the law of the land. That is not right America. Barack Hussein Obama stood in agreement, at the White House, with none other than the president of Mexico. Obama stood AGAINST legal America citizens and legal immigrants that took the time and made the effort to become LEGAL!

Our borders are no more secure today, under Barack Hussein Obama, than they were under ANY president, for as far back as I can remember. But Obama speaks of border solidarity with Calderon of Mexico.

Questions about whether a politician has read a particular piece of legislation are not exclusive to the Arizona law. During the recent health-care-reform debate, for example, opponents on Capitol Hill commonly accused supporters of not having read the long, complicated legislation.

“What’s come to light in the past year is one of the great dirty secrets of American politics: Most public officials don’t read legislation,” said John J. “Jack” Pitney Jr., a government professor at Claremont McKenna College in Southern California.

Mr. Pitney is quite correct. The politicos don’t read the crap they foist off on us, but I have to ask, if our elected officials aren’t reading these bills, especially the ObamaCare debacle, why do we as a nation have to accept their supposedly superior intellect and judgement of what’s right for this nation if they themselves can’t tell you what’s IN the bills they pass into law?

Administration officials suggested that questions over who has read the Arizona legislation are a distraction that takes nothing away from the detailed, ongoing review of the law.

Yeah, somehow, reading the bills and getting to the truth is always a distraction, at least for the elected officials in D.C. it appears.

“The attorney general has been thoroughly briefed on the law, which has already been amended since the initial version passed, and has heard concerns from a range of law enforcement and community officials,” Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller said in a written statement. “He and the department will continue to review it in detail to determine what options are available to the federal government.”

Options? Options they say? Here’s an option, enforce the laws of this land. Do your job in D.C. and the states won’t have to do it for you. If you don’t have the guts to do the job, shut the hell up, sit down and watch as the American people give you and yours a taste of what’s to come!

On Monday, Napolitano told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that she had “not reviewed it (the Arizona law) in detail.”

Janet Napolitano is a disgusting liberal! Of course she would have vetoed the law, further allowing the safety abd freedoms of LEGAL Americans to be eroded by this infestation of ILLEGALS!

Could Arizona’s Immigration Law Go National?

Could Arizona’s Immigration Law Go National?

May 14, 2010 — Arizona injected new venom into the immigration debate in passing Senate Bill 1070 (SB 1070). Approved by state legislature and signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer, SB 1070 has the clear objective to increase enforcement against illegal immigrants in the state. As expected, the bill generated passionate responses across the political spectrum even before it was signed into law.

Even if lawsuits in federal courts prevent SB 1070 from being implemented, the problem still remains: Congress has dragged its feet on reforming immigration laws. Waiting much longer will only open opportunities for similar or new local efforts to curb illegal immigration. It will also allow public opinion to swell in favor of such laws and we might just see enough support to see SB 1070 “go national?.

Many public officials including President Obama were quick to criticize the new law. Within days, lawsuits were filed against SB 1070 by the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders as well as two police officers, one each from Phoenix and Tucson. The federal government is eyeing the possibility of doing the same. Responding to public reaction, the Arizona legislature passed a new law within a week that will supersede SB 1070. This one attempts to reduce the probability of police using racial profiling as the basis of their investigations of a person’s legal status.

However, national polls show widespread support for SB 1070 with one showing that 51 percent of those surveyed considered that it is “about right” in its approach and 9 percent saying that it does not go far enough. Betraying Americans’ steadfast ambivalence on immigration, the same poll remarkably shows that 64 percent of those surveyed are in favor of allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the country either as guest workers or with the right to apply for citizenship. Another poll found that, in the days after the law was signed, more than three quarters of Americans had heard about it and, of those, 51 percent were in favor of it.

Not directing this AT the Brookings Institute, they are what they are, good or bad, they are the source of this post.

The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, D.C. One of Washington’s oldest think tanks, Brookings conducts research and education in the social sciences, primarily in economics, metropolitan policy, governance, foreign policy, and global economy and development.

Its stated mission is to “provide innovative and practical recommendations that advance three broad goals: strengthen American democracy; foster the economic and social welfare, security and opportunity of all Americans; and secure a more open, safe, prosperous, and cooperative international system.” SOURCE

I have to ask though, just how stupid do those on the LEFT think Americans are? What part of ILLEGAL do they NOT get?

This law, SB 1070, is considered by many legal scholars to be not only legal and proper, but to be constitutional as well.

SB 1070 takes federal law, interprets it into state statutes, actually makes the law a bit more strict, and then, even though it closely mimics FEDERAL law that the Feds are simply not enforcing, is called unconstitutional, racist, oppressive, and a law reminiscent of NAZI policies and tactics before and during WWII.

The people I see calling SB 1070 all of those things are the ILLEGALS themselves, their friends, families, supporters on the LEFT and the LIBBERS and RINOs in Washington, as well as a few state legislatures. In other words, for the most part, those that can, or could be, detained, and possibly be deported if found to be here ILLEGALLY, or some of their immediate family.

So, enforcement of THE LAW is now unconstitutional?

ILLEGALS shouldn’t be stopped? They shouldn’t be deported? Our borders shouldn’t be fully secured and these ILLEGALS kept OUT of the USA in general? ILLEGAL is now the new, and apparently believed to now be by some to be, legal and quite acceptable?

I have heard all this racial profiling and PC BS I can stand.

Racial profiling is a joke, it’s an excuse used by those that are here ILLEGALLY to deflect the eye of the public from their illegality in an attempt to stall deportation until such time that Obama and his Hate America 1st buddies can force some form of amnesty on this nation.

Racial profiling? All of the excuses just don’t hold water.
