McCain slated for N.R.A. meeting

May 6th, 2008 . by TexasFred
LOUISVILLE (AP) — The National Rifle Association says Republican presidential candidate John McCain is scheduled to give a speech during a forum at the N.R.A.’s annual meeting next week in Louisville.

N.R.A. spokesman Andrew Arulanandam says the U.S. senator and presumptive GOP presidential nominee will take part in the group’s Celebration of American Values Leadership Forum on May 16, the first day of the three-day meeting. The meeting will be followed a few days later by Kentucky’s primary election.

Also scheduled to speak at the forum are former GOP presidential candidates Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, former White House political director Karl Rove, Republican U.S. Senate Leader Mitch McConnell and Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear.

Arulanandam says Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were not invited to this N.R.A. event.

McCain slated for N.R.A. meeting

That last line had me laughing out loud, for 1 thing, I believe Barack Obama would be very afraid to show up at a place that was filled with gun lovers and gun owners, although most are sane and normal people there is always that 0.001% that’s just plain ape-shit crazy and would hide a gun in a body cavity if they thought they would get even a remote opportunity at taking a shot at the Jr. Senator from the great state of Illinois…

Last week, Sen. Barack Obama claimed that many Midwestern voters “cling” to guns and religion to placate themselves for their loss of jobs and economic prosperity. SOURCE

Anyone can understand the NRA not wanting Obama there after the bum made such ridiculous statements but the didn’t invite Hillary?? She’s into guns ya know, she said so…

“You know, some people now continue to teach their children and their grandchildren. It’s part of culture. It’s part of a way of life. People enjoy hunting and shooting because it’s an important part of who they are. Not because they are bitter. … As I told you, my dad taught me how to shoot behind our cottage. I have gone hunting. I am not a hunter. But I have gone hunting.”  SOURCE

Yeah, well, I’m not a pilot but I’ve been up in a lot of airplanes, does that instill a sense of confidence in you?? And if there is anyone out there that truly believes Hillary and her impassioned pandering of gun owners, I have some bridge properties you may be interested in owning…

Now, on to Sen. John McCain and guns, McCain, the apparent darling of the Republican party and the leader of a bunch of ankle biting little lapdogs affectionately called McCainiacs…

Sen. McCain is basically a pandering politico and will say and/or do anything it takes to get elected to the presidency, including, but not limited to pandering to gun owners in an attempt to gain their support and the support of the Conservative voting base, a base that he all but turned his back on in 2000…

John McCain tried running for president in 2000 as an anti-gunner. This year it appears he is seeking to “come home” to the pro-gun community, but the wounds are deep and memories long. John McCain - GOA 2008

As if there wasn’t already plenty of evidence that Senator John McCain is the wrong choice for pro-gun Republicans in the Presidential primary, the Columbus Dispatch has added one more item to the list: Buckeye Firearms Association

Nowhere is McCain’s chicanery and duplicity more jeopardous than in the area of the right to keep and bear arms. On issues relating to the Second Amendment, John McCain is a disaster! For example, the highly respected Gun Owners of America (GOA) rates McCain with a grade of F-. McCain’s failing grade is well deserved. John McCain Is A Liberal Gun Grabber

I could go on and on but you get the idea, McCain is sucking up to the NRA and will turn his back on the gun owners of America as soon as he’s sworn in and any way this thing goes, gun owners will become the target…

McCain may be a bit better president than Hillary and Hillary would be infinitely better than Obama but let’s face the facts, if these 3 are the best that the parties have to offer and if we are so complacent that we’re willing to accept these candidates, then come November we’re going to get exactly what we deserve…

13 die in Mexico border shootouts

April 26th, 2008 . by TexasFred

TIJUANA, Mexico - Massive, running gunbattles broke out between suspected drug traffickers on the streets of this violent border city Saturday, killing 13 people and wounding nine, law enforcement officials said.

Dead bodies scattered along the road marked one of the deadliest shootouts in Mexico’s three-year-old drug warfare.

All of the dead were believed to be drug traffickers, possibly rival members of the same cartel who were trying to settle scores, said Rommel Moreno, the attorney general of Baja California state, where Tijuana is located.

Two of the dead were believed to be senior hit men for the Arellano Felix cartel and were identified by the large gold rings on their fingers. The rings carried the icon of Saint Death, a ghoulish figure that gangsters believe protects them, police said.

“Today shows we are facing a terrible war never seen before on the (U.S.-Mexico) border,” Moreno said during a news conference.

Police cordoned off all the surrounding roads, forcing workers at a nearby maquiladora to walk through the crime scene to get to work.

“Another shootout,” said a woman who gave her name only as Lisa. “There are just too many, we are so afraid.”

I just want to ask a couple of questions of my readers, how long do you think it will be before this type of thing spills over the border?? How long before U.S. citizens become the victims of these brainless thugs??

And it WILL happen, right here on our streets, in Hometown, USA??

And what will YOUR reaction be when it does??

Calif. anti-gun activist pleads no contest to gun charges

January 19th, 2008 . by TexasFred

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former gang member who founded an anti-violence group called No Guns has pleaded no contest to federal weapons charges.

Hector “Big Weasel” Marroquin, 51, and co-defendant Sylvia Arrellano, 25, entered pleas Thursday for three counts of manufacture, distribution and transport for sale of an unlawful assault weapon.

Arrellano also pleaded no contest to machine gun conversion and possessing a silencer and acknowledged that the crime was committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang.

She was given until Tuesday to surrender for sentencing and would likely be sentenced to four years in prison, prosecutors said.

Marroquin attorney Patrick Smith did not return a phone message seeking comment Thursday. No phone listing was available for Arrellano.

Marroquin founded No Guns in 1996, ostensibly to reduce gang and gun violence. The group received $1.5 million from the city as a subcontractor on anti-gang efforts but its contract was canceled last year after authorities learned that Marroquin had hired relatives, including his son, Hector “Little Weasel” Marroquin.

The son is an acknowledged 18th Street gang member who pleaded no contest in June 2007 to home-invasion robbery and was sentenced to nine years in state prison.

Calif. anti-gun activist pleads no contest to gun charges

The perfect combination of hilarity, hypocrisy, criminal genius and governmental ignorance, all rolled into one delectable story…

The gangs find a way to BS the California system into giving them $1.5M in an anti guns for gangs program and then the gangs turn around and used that money to arm the gangs…

And the L.A. officials didn’t SEE this coming??

I know that some folks feel that the RKBA applies to ALL people, and constitutionally it does, but it shouldn’t, we don’t need MORE gun laws, we need more stringent enforcement of the ones we already have, and we need serious investigation and justification for EVERY gun sale in this nation, and yes, I DO realize what I’m saying, and YES, I do realize it would be a pain in the ass but let me propose the counter-thesis to the blanket assumption that many have of the 2nd amendment…

Chuy and Pepe have never been convicted of anything but they are well known, established members of some wetback street gang and that gang wants guns, they have their ‘clean’ guys BUY, not steal, actually BUY some legal weapons and then those weapons are distributed to said gang members, suppose that waiting period would have made a difference, suppose that waiting period, and a thorough investigation had turned up the information that Pepe and Chuy are suspected gangsters and they were on a NO SALE watch list??

Just some thoughts, I don’t know if that sort of action is even feasible, and much to the chagrin of a few folks, I don’t believe the 2nd amendment gives you the right to own fully automatic assault rifles either but I’d like to hear some reader feedback on guns, use of guns, ownership responsibility and so forth…

Gun ownership, in MY opinion, comes with many responsibilities, but the bad guys don’t assume ANY of those responsibilities, only legal gun owners do, and as much as I DO believe in the 2nd, and the RKBA, I feel that there has to be at least some limit to the broad interpretation OF the 2nd, not everyone walking the streets of America is entitled to gun ownership, would it be a good thing to register ALL gun owners, require that they attend some intense safety classes and put in some hard ‘range time’ to prove their proficiency and sharpen their skills, and during this qualification process, have their backgrounds totally and thoroughly checked out and eliminate those that are unsafe, mentally unsound or otherwise unqualified to own and/or possess a gun??

And after such qualifications have been met, would it be unreasonable to lock up for life anyone that didn’t meet the criteria that was caught brandishing a weapon?? Lock up anyone that used a weapon for an illegal purpose or committed a crime while armed WITH a firearm??

Or would this open up another avenue for the feds to pursue those that DID own and possess firearms legally??

I don’t want to see an America where a LEGAL and qualified citizen can’t be armed and able to protect himself from the criminals that run roughshod over this nation or from invaders from other nations, but I would love to see vigorous prosecution and enforcement against those that ruin gun ownership for the 99.999% of LEGAL gun owners that don’t commit violent gun crimes…

Mexico shootout suspects tied to cartel

January 9th, 2008 . by TexasFred

MEXICO CITY — Three U.S. residents and seven others linked to the powerful Gulf drug cartel were arrested following a deadly shootout just across the border from Texas, Mexican officials said Tuesday

The gunfire, which left three people dead, broke out around noon Monday when Mexican federal agents chased a van full of people carrying assault weapons in the town of Rio Bravo, across the border from Donna, Texas, according to a government statement.

The army and federal police sent reinforcements after the suspects took shelter and began detonating grenades, Federal Public Safety assistant secretary Jose Patricio Patino told reporters Tuesday.

“The armed group that clashed with federal agents yesterday belonged to a cell of the Gulf cartel,” Patino said.

Witnesses described a frightening scene with gunmen breaking down doors and positioning themselves inside homes for the gunbattle, which took place in front of the Rio Bravo police station, The McAllen Monitor reported.

Mexico shootout suspects tied to cartel

Where did this take place?? Just across the border from Donna, TX., right down there in the heart of the Rio Grande valley…

And how long do you think it’s going to be before these things spill over onto the U.S. side of the border and it’s OUR people being placed in danger by these drug cartels that seem to think that they are above the law?? It’s only been by the grace of God that it hasn’t happened already…

And our borders are STILL pretty much wide open, and who do we thank for that?? Other than George ‘I never met a wetback I didn’t like’ Bush??

Why, the most legendary Lady Lawmaker in Texas history, none other than Miss Kay Bailey Hutchison herself, Immigrant ‘Dream’ Act Fails Key Senate Vote

In one vote Miss Kay went from being the toast of Texas to being the trashiest and most talked about, back stabbing turncoat in modern Texas history…

Some Texans didn’t see this story I guess, I was over at Bloviating Zeppelin the other day and saw where one of his readers, a feeble minded old bat that relies on bloggers to give her the news I guess, well, anyway, she was totally shocked that this had happened and she was gonna fire off a nasty letter to Miss Kay ASAP, well over 2 months after the fact, that outta be pretty effective, don’t you think??

All B.S. aside, we are looking at open warfare on the Texas border every day, and I am pretty sure it’s no better on the New Mexico, Arizona and California borders, although I don’t have any 1st hand knowledge there, but I do know this, the gun battles are coming, fully automatic weapons in the hands of the bad guys, grenades and grenade launchers and they don’t care WHO they kill if they have to fight their was out of an arrest, and for the record, all the gun laws in the world won’t stop this, so any gun grabber that thinks he can insert his libber view of gun laws can just save his time typing and my time deleting, I won’t even attempt to debate anyone foolish enough to come to my blog and talk about this nation needing more gun laws…

We don’t have a President that will protect the USA, we have Senators that shirk their duty to those that elected them, we are being given away wholesale, not just part and parcel, this nation IS being undermined by it’s elected leaders, and I cringe to call Bush a LEADER, he is anything but a leader, but for lack of a better terminology, our leader, Pres. George Bush is off pandering to Palestinians and other assorted Arab trash, trying to make peace in the mid-east, to hell with us here at home, forget all the ILLEGALS that are constantly pouring over the border, never mind the cartels that are a clear and present danger to innocent Americans, men, women and children, just ignore the damage being done to our tax base and the infrastructure of this nation by the INVADERS from the south and the strain the Bush Debacle in Iraq has caused, obviously it’s a lot more important to the Bush administration to kiss and make up with the Palestinians than it is to actually secure our own borders and protect our own people…

Ya know, I hate to think of the carnage that a cartel vs police gun battle on this side of the border would bring but I’ll bet you dollars to doughnuts that even if it did happen the Bush administration would look away, say it was a state problem or call it a minor indiscretion…

I’ve often heard that an ounce of prevention was worth a pound of cure but given the ass backwards ways of the sitting POTUS, I seriously doubt he’d even remotely grasp that little tidbit of wisdom…

Giuliani on Guns…

December 2nd, 2007 . by TexasFred

Do you own guns?? Do you like to shoot and/or hunt?? Do you want to keep your guns??

Are you a supporter of Rudy Giuliani??

If you don’t think that Giuliani won’t turn on the gun owners of this nation as soon as he is elected, think again…

Giuliani, BAD for America, BAD for gun owners!

Texan Kills Thieves: Hero or Homicidal?

November 26th, 2007 . by TexasFred

HOUSTON (AP) - The cha-chick of a shell entering a shotgun’s chamber rattled through the 911 line just before Joe Horn stepped out his front door.

Horn, 61, had phoned police when he saw two men break into his neighbor’s suburban Houston home through a window in broad daylight. Now they were getting away with a bag of loot.

“Don’t go outside the house,” the 911 operator pleaded. “You’re going to get yourself shot if you go outside that house with a gun. I don’t care what you think.”

“You want to make a bet?” Horn answered. “I’m going to kill them.”

He did.

Admirers, including several of his neighbors, say Horn is a hero for killing the burglars, protecting his neighborhood and sending a message to would-be criminals. Critics call him a loose cannon. His attorney says Horn just feared for his life.

Full Story Here:
Texan Kills Thieves: Hero or Homicidal?

Strange that this was re-posted by AP today, you see, today I just happened to have received a private message from someone telling me that I need to shut the hell up with my anti-gun stance BS…

Now I’m thinking, anyone that has ever read my blog more than once or twice knows, I am anything BUT anti-gun, I am as big a supporter of the police and the wonderful job they do as anyone can be, I’m a gun owner, several guns, and I am avid shooter, in my younger days I was a competition pistol shooter, I hunted too, birds and deer, so, the ‘TexasFred is anti-gun’ BS won’t hold water, that said, I have my own opinions of this matter in Pasadena, TX.

In MY opinion, Joe Horn is a fool, there is no other way to say it, and the old boy is pretty lucky to still be alive…

Do I mourn the loss of the 2 burglars?? NO, I do not…

I feel they got what was more than likely an over due execution, my issue is with the way it happened and the behavior of Horn just prior to his interjecting himself into this situation, a situation for which he wasn’t trained to handle and was repeatedly ordered, DO NOT GO OUT THERE, several times, the Pasadena 9-1-1 dispatcher did HIS job, Horn ignored him and repeatedly said, “I’m going to kill them”, and that folks, can very well play out to being premeditated murder, no matter how you look at it, KILLING THEM was his intent, he placed himself in this situation, the burglars had not come into his home nor did they present a clear and present danger TO Horn, police were called and their arrival was imminent, and Horn went WAY over the boundaries of self preservation, had he remained in his home, as he was instructed to do, the police would have captured the 2 burglars and placed them in jail…

And again, my personal opinion is this, IF the 2 burglars had attempted to break in to Horns home, THEN he would have been more than justified in blowing these 2 to hell, but HE placed himself in danger by going out into his yard and initiating the face to face contact with the 2 as they were fleeing, that makes Horn the one in the wrong, he didn’t know where the burglars were and he had NO business going out of his house…

Texas law allows people to use deadly force to protect themselves if it is reasonable to believe they could otherwise be killed. In some cases, people also can use deadly force to protect their neighbors’ property; for example, if a homeowner asks a neighbor to watch over his property while he’s out of town.

And the neighbor asking him to ‘watch over’ his property is a fact that hasn’t been established as yet, I am guessing it WILL be a huge part of Horn’s defense, it’s most likely his only real hope for vindication, but then it ALL goes back to this, “I’m going to kill them”, that is a very incriminating statement, it can’t be denied and it is indicative of an intent to KILL regardless of the circumstances…

At issue is whether it was reasonable for Horn to fear the men and whether his earlier threats on the 911 call showed he planned to kill them no matter what, said Fred C. Moss, who teaches criminal law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Horn quite likely was in fear of these individuals, it was obvious in the tone of his voice, but did they present an immediate, clear and present danger to Horn?? I think not, not as long as Horn followed the orders given him by the 9-1-1 dispatcher and stayed inside of HIS home…

My sincere belief is that Horn is a loose cannon, a person that was intent on killing 2 burglars, his own words convict him, and here is the bottom line, burglary of an inhabited dwelling is a felony, and the residents don’t have to be HOME for it to be considered an inhabited dwelling, but the shooting and killing of 2 unarmed burglars that present NO threat to you until YOU personally place yourself in a position of confrontation is wrong, Horn became judge, jury and executioner when HE attempted to take control of a situation that he had NO business becoming involved in…

I am anxiously awaiting the findings of the Harris County grand jury, this case can, and likely will, set more precedence than any similar case to date and could, in my opinion, cause the Texas Castle Law to be either elevated as Gospel or struck down entirely, it’s all interpretation…

U.N.: Tasers Are A Form Of Torture

November 25th, 2007 . by TexasFred

(CBS/AP) A United Nations committee said Friday that use of Taser weapons can be a form of torture, in violation of the U.N. Convention Against Torture.

Use of the electronic stun devices by police has been marked with a sudden rise in deaths - including four men in the United States and two in Canada within the last week.

Canadian authorities are taking a second look at them, and in the United States, there is a wave of demands to BAN them.

The U.N. Committee Against Torture referred Friday to the use of TaserX26 weapons which Portuguese police has acquired. An expert had testified to the committee that use of the weapons had “proven risks of harm or death.”

“The use of TaserX26 weapons, provoking extreme pain, constituted a form of torture, and that in certain cases it could also cause death, as shown by several reliable studies and by certain cases that had happened after practical use,” the committee said in a statement.

Full Story Here:
U.N.: Tasers Are A Form Of Torture

OK, that does it for me, the UN said Tasers are torture, so, NO MORE TASERS, just go ahead and beat the crap out of em or shoot em, but for Gods sake don’t use a normally non-lethal method of subduing an agitated or violent offender, we can’t have that now can we??

What the hell, why even shoot the bad guys?? Just let em run wild, it doesn’t matter what the police do, there’s going to be some asshats that are always at the ready to condemn the cops, even if a cop gives his life in the line of duty, some asshat will find fault in the way he did it…

The U.N. is the most useless organization that has ever existed, and I honestly believe that given the opportunity, they would love to totally govern the USA, and with the Globalist designs a certain U.S. president has, the idea isn’t all that far fetched…

The U.N. seeks to disarm our citizens and now condemns Tasers as torture, just another move towards total disarmament of the American people, it’s easier for U.N. forces to take over that way…

EDIT TO ADD: NP213 has posted a video of himself being Tased during his certification process, it’s in the comments section of THIS post, NP213 is my Son, I KNOW that this video is real and I know that his comments and his belief IN the Taser are real and sincere…
