Wednesdays Woes… Mid Day Edition… 02-07-07

WASHINGTON (AP) - Executives from Wal-Mart and three other major U.S. employers on Wednesday joined hands with union leaders in setting a goal of providing “quality, affordable” health care for millions of workers by 2012. Joining Wal-Mart Stores Inc. CEO Lee Scott and Service Employees International Union leader Andrew Stern at a Washington press conference were top executives from Intel Corp. (INTC), AT&T Inc. (T) and Kelly Services Inc. (KELYA)

I wonder if the Dems and Libs will stop bitching now and OPENLY shop at Wal-Mart?? Yeah, right, Wal-Mart will still make billions and the Dems and Libs will still complain because Wal-Mart is making money… I love my Wal-Mart stock…

Washington Post - After 10 years and $1.7 billion, this is what the Marines Corps got for its investment in a new amphibious vehicle: A craft that breaks down about an average of once every 4 1/2 hours, leaks and sometimes veers off course. And for that, the contractor, General Dynamics of Falls Church, received $80 million in bonuses.

If we just had the money back that the military WASTES, we’d all be tax free… This little boondoggle isn’t just on the Bush administration and HIS DoD, it goes back into at least the full 2nd term of Bubba and Co. and it was likely a boondoggle then too… Fiscal responsibility, THAT is what a REAL conservative government would bring, and the Bush administration isn’t conservative, it’s doing good to claim the title Republican…

DECATUR, Ill. — He doesn’t want to do it, but die-hard Bears fan Scott Wiese is changing his name. The 26-year-old Forsyth man told friends that if his beloved team didn’t win the Super Bowl, he’d become Peyton Manning after the Indianapolis Colts star quarterback.

I only had 1 thought pop into my head when I saw this, “What a dumbass…”

(AP) Huge street protests made millions of immigrants more visible and powerful last year, but they also seem to have revived a hateful counter force: white supremacists. Groups linked to the Ku Klux Klan, skinheads and neo-Nazis grew significantly more active, holding more rallies, distributing leaflets and increasing their presence on the Internet — much of it focused on stirring anti-immigrant sentiment, a new report released by the Anti-Defamation League says.

Immigration Fueling White Supremacists

If wanting to defend this nation from the ILLEGAL INVASION that our own government so conveniently ignores makes me a RACIST and a White Supremacist, so be it… The Libs have called people like me NAZI for years, so what the hell, one more name won’t matter… And BTW, I am all for putting EVERY illegal OUT of this nation, and I don’t give a damn WHAT color they are or what language they speak…

USA TODAY - The nation’s swelling deer population is prompting a growing number of towns and cities to permit hunting within their borders, much of it by bow and arrow. The goal: reduce the number of traffic collisions involving deer and ease conflicts between the animals and their human neighbors. Motorists are involved in more than 1 million accidents a year involving deer. That has led several states to lift Sunday bans on hunting or test animal- detection systems that warn drivers of nearby deer. Among communities adding limited hunts to their strategy:

Yum… Deer steaks and chili meat… If you like good chili, and I don’t mean that crap that Yankees and a few others try to pawn off on people and ‘call’ it chili, I mean a hot steaming bowl of ‘Texas Red’, and by the way, REAL chili NEVER has beans in it either, but IF you’re a conossiuer of REAL chili, try it with course ground deer meat, it’s so good it’ll make your tongue slap the roof of your mouth… And if you like chili, and you’ve never been, make a trip to the Terlingua International Chili Championship in Terlingua, TX.

1.. I never did quit shopping at Wally World.. went there yesterday as a matter of fact.. ;-) . Most democrats that say they don’t shop there are lieing.

2.. Seems like the Bush administration is overdoing their attempt to make up for what slick Willie did to the military during the 90’s and just tossing money around the military like FEMA did in Nawlins..

3.. Alls I can say is .. What an idiot! (But then stupid is as stupid does..)

4.. Amen! Preach it brutha.. :-)

5.. Hey.. I LIKE chili w/o beans.. we have always called chili w/beans ‘chili soup’, and I like it too.

I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I first saw Wisconsin’s version of chili. They put MACARONI in it, along with the forbidden beans! Damn Yankees! :) Luckily, my native WI husband has been out of the state, and is aware this is a major no-no!

REAL Chili is meat and chili sauce, made from the red chili peppers YOU dry, peel, grind and use, and your own, usually highly secret, seasonings, I have a great recipe I use, 23 years ago me and a buddy of mine entered a cookoff out in El Paso and we placed in the top 5, not too bad for your 1st effort, and I used deer meat then too…

In a REAL cookoff, you WILL be disqualified for using beans or macaroni in the chili, I mean thrown OUT and laughed at and generally ostracized by the cookoff community…

Beans and Chili = Chili Beans
Macaroni and Chili = Chili Mac

Both are good dishes and I have eaten both, but neither is ‘REAL’ chili..

My mother made a ‘decent’ chili, nothing to brag on, but it was decent, but she liked to serve it over rice, but ya gotta be aware, my Mom was a hard core, dyed in the wool ‘Coon-ass’ from Louisiana and they serve rice with everything…

I so wish I could get that through my husband’s head so he will quit putting beans in it.
