Analysis: Obama takes a risk on immigration front

WASHINGTON (AP) - There’s not much President Barack Obama can do to boost the economy in the next five months, and that alone might cost him the November election. But on a range of social issues, Obama is bypassing Congress and aggressively using his executive powers to make it easier for gays to marry, women to obtain birth control, and, now, young illegal immigrants to avoid deportation.

It’s a political gamble that might fire up conservatives, many of whom remain cool to Republican candidate Mitt Romney. Democrats think it’s more likely to inspire enthusiasm among groups that were crucial to Obama’s 2008 victory - young voters, women and Hispanics.

In relatively good times, a first-term president’s wide array of powers can force his challenger to shift from issue to issue, hoping to find a gap in the incumbent’s armor. This year, that scenario is practically turned on its head.

Romney is the play-it-safe candidate, rarely straying from his jobs-and-economy talking points and sharply limiting encounters with national reporters. Romney took six hours Friday to offer a short and carefully worded comment that criticized Obama’s new immigration policy for not providing “a long-term solution.”

Analysis: Obama takes a risk on immigration front

This move by Barack Hussein Obama is nothing more than POLITICAL PANDERING, it is a move of desperation made by a man that sees his political future disappearing before his eyes!

I am NOT one that just sits here and complains on the blog. I contact my Congressman, Mr. Sam Johnson, I contact my Senator, John Cornyn, but lately, all I get is a *canned response*, and if my understanding is correct, most of my friends and associates are getting the same thing when they contact their elected officials; NOTHING!

Below is the message I sent to Cong. Sam Johnson (TX-03) today, I hope you will ALL read it, and then lend YOUR voices as well. And to no one elected official in particular, as I said to Mr. Johnson; if YOU want US to support YOU, well, it IS a 2 way street!

Mr. Johnson;

I am seriously disappointed in Congress as a whole and you in particular. I have long held you in great esteem but of late it seems that all I hear from you concerning contact and issues is a *canned* message most likely sent by an aide.

This recent *back door amnesty* move by Barack Hussein Obama is a travesty.

I believe in the rule of law; it is the bedrock of our great nation. I want an immigration system with integrity and our immigration laws enforced.

Congress, not the Executive Branch, has sole authority to establish our immigration laws; it is the responsibility of the Executive Branch to enforce them.

I object to rewarding illegal immigration through “deferred action” or any other executive maneuver. It not only undermines the rule of law, but only encourages more illegal immigration.

It also is an act of shameless political pandering five months before the presidential election.

Sir, if YOU expect the people of this district to support you, you must in turn support US, loudly and vigorously.

Also, I am sending a copy of this to all members of the Rowlett City Council in hopes that they too will encourage you to do everything in your power to STOP these actions by a POTUS that apparently has NO desire to follow the letter of the law!

Sincerely,
Fred Witzell
Rowlett, TX

Sometimes a person runs for office simply to *hold* the office, once they WIN an office all they do is *hold* the office, attend whatever city, county or state functions they have to and then represent themselves as YOUR elected official in whatever capacity.

It happens all over, from small towns all the way to the Halls of Congress.

OUR Congress, a collection of the laziest bunch of do-nothings imaginable, aren’t going OFF on Obama for this attempt at *back door amnesty*. Thus, I have become one pissed off voter!

If you object to the ‘amnesty’ invoked by President Obama yesterday, then please contact your Congress person, and tell them so!

Below are some additional numbers you can call.

Please call the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and your members of Congress and tell them how YOU feel about Obama, his pandering, his disregard for the LAW and AMNESTY.

It’s not much of a risk for Obama. Even when Congress overturns his EO he still can just blame the GOP. All the illegals will still get vote in those places bullied by AG Holder, the ballot boxes will still be stuffed by ACORN affiliates, Democratic operatives will unpack the “trunk ballots” and if he happens to lose, George Soros’ company can report any results they want to.

  2. Katie says:

This is a direct violation of the US Constitiution.

Article 1 Section 8: The Congress shall have Power To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization….

This should be enough to impeach him if the Congress finds their balls.

    • TexasFred says:

Never happen, this is the most pathetic and GUTLESS Congress in my 58 years…

    • Right Handed Cowboy says:

That would be good but Congress has no balls!

      • Katie says:

They will have to search for them, but they can find them.

        BTW: This is good news.

Firebrand Republican Rep. Steve King announced his intention Friday to file a lawsuit against President Barack Obama, calling unconstitutional the administration’s plan to stop deporting some young, illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. as children.

This should keep it in the courts for a while. Plus the 9 crows will be giving their ruling on the Arizona Law in the next 2 weeks.

We just might prevail over the tyrant!

  3. Right Handed Cowboy says:

Fred, as you well know I am 15 miles as a crow flies from Mexico. So as you can imagine there is dancing in the streets by the illegal aliens who are sucking down taxpayers dollars like they were eating beans and tortillas. There was no end to TRAVASTY before Obamas back door amnesty. OUR education system is absolutely overflowing with the children of illegal aliens. The school districts are on a crusade to sign up migrant students(wink wink) which is a cover for recruitIng more illegal aliens to attend school in the states…..

Why you ask, for each illegal student the School district receives FEDERAL MONEY for the illegal alien. This also applies in college.

While you and I pay for our kids education illegals get a FREE RIDE!!!!

I paid $19, 000 hard earned money to educate my son, the balance of his college was paid in a baseball scholarship, but HOSE A does not pay one stinking Nickle.
Now that does not apply to all illegals just the ones who k ow how to bilk the system.

So the dancing continues my friend. While Mexico jails illegals they encourage theirs to go north. There will be no way to know who is who.

That 800,000 will turn into 1 million 600 thousand before you know it.
This AGGRAVATED ASSAULT on the constitution and by pass of congress will have to be repealed on Mitts first day!

If *not Mitt* becomes part of the problem and not part of a solution.

The most corrupt administration in the HISTORY of this country. Obama makes Nixon look like an angel.

  4. Steve Dennis says:

Great letter Fred, I will be interested to hear what kind of response you get. This really a deperate move by a deperate man and while I do not like Romney Obama is making it easier and easier for me to vote for him when he does crap like this.

    • TexasFred says:

Steve, I can tell you right now what I’ll get; a response that says ‘thank you for contacting me, I appreciate your position and rest assured, I feel the same way…’

Lately, even if you send them an email, no matter WHAT it says, that is what you get… The United States Congress is as useless as is our bastard Kenyan POTUS…

  5. Longstreet says:

Seems to me this is an impeachable offense. As the GOP controls the House, and that is where a Bill of Impeachment must be drawn up, couldn’t the “right” counter Obama’s political move with a political move of their own — and IMPEACH the guy???

Yeah, I know the Senate would never convict him, but it just might put Obama on the defensive for a while. Just a thought.

    JDL

  6. mrchuck says:

Yes, I want the House of Reps to vote to impeach this illegal poser.
And I want every person who voted yes to elect Obama get a serious case of diarrhea and crap all over themselves, for putting this insufferable SOB in office.
    The pox is upon you!!!

  7. Bunkerville says:

It wasn’t even an Executive order but rather a “directive”. I tried to find it, but only one recently written more worrisome was an E.O. on Broadband he did last Thursday, What the hell is a Directive and what force of law please tell?

  8. TomR says:

obama’s unconstitutional? illegal? whatever the hell it was should not be considered a risk. The people that will vote against obama are already set in place. I doubt this will increase the anti obama votes. This was a political ploy to encourage Hispanics who were either fence sitters or non voters to vote for obama. So it will increase his vote at no loss of other votes.

A very weak-kneed Rino dominant House and liberal Senate will not act to nullify this action by obama. The liberal biased, dishonest MSM will promote this action by obama and run a nauseating string of sob stories about the anchor kids of illegals.

This order/dictate/ploy/whatever is an encoragement that is going to turn our normal tide of illegals into a massive tsunami of third worlders looking for a favorable environment to relight their own failed cultures.

Shit! I hate this Marxist, muslim, racist bastard in our White House.

  9. minuteman26 says:

Suggestion to business owners. Don’t hire Hispanics under 30 for any available job. Only way I can see to blunt this EO until overturned. House needs to begin impeachment proceedings……………..if they have the balls to do so.

  10. Bob Mack says:

Another day, another outrage: The Great Dictator

“Public service is my motto.” — Al Capone

Barack Obama, another notorious ‘public servant’ from Chicago, has spent the last three and a half years doing the same thing for the rule of law as his old Windy City predecessor — ignoring it.

  11. sdkar says:

It may not only be a case of the GOP not having any balls. It could also be that they also know that no matter what they do (or not do), they will take the hit. If they do nothing, they look lame and “balless” thus sending the message that the GOP should not be in power. If they go after the president, than obama gets sympathy votes because he is a poor black man who is being picked on by the evil white GOP party, and everyone wants to vote for the underdog.

No matter what the GOP does, obama wins and he knows this. He has very little lose by taking this move. Gosh I hate that POS-POTUS.
