12 killed, 59 wounded in Colo. Theater shooting

AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A gunman in a gas mask barged into a crowded Denver-area theater during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie Friday, hurled a gas canister and then opened fire, killing 12 people and injuring at least 50 others in one of the deadliest mass shootings in recent U.S. history. SOURCE

First and foremost, I want to offer my most sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this INSANE person.

That said; Batman movies feature deranged criminals being pursued by a deranged crime fighter, in tights. Apparently these folks thought the only deranged persons they would see would be those on the screen.

And for crying out loud; were there no Concealed Handgun License holders in this crowd?

It’s been said countless times, GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE, but you can bet the farm on this; the anti-gun cabal is already hard at work trying to get guns banned in America and an incident such as this only gives them a stronger platform from which to work.

And speaking of deranged criminals…

Obama says he is ‘shocked’ by Colo. Shooting

MANALAPAN, Fla. (AP) - President Barack Obama said Friday he was “shocked and saddened” by a deadly shooting at a suburban Denver movie theater and urged the nation to “come together as one American family” in the aftermath of the tragedy. SOURCE

Personally, I have NO doubt that Barack Hussein Obama did a *victory dance* as he was handed a campaign booster and another nail to use in the coffin he is building for SANE, LEGAL gun owners and the Second Amendment.

Another thing I have NO DOUBT about is the complicity of the American media is all of this, and their efforts to assign blame to anyone on the RIGHT that they can find.

The Usual Suspects: ABC’s Ross, Stephanolpoulos Point to Tea Party in Dark Knight Shooting UPDATE: ABC Corrects, Apologizes-After Blaming ‘Social Media’ and the Public

On Good Morning America, ABC News’ Brian Ross and George Stephanolpoulos suggested that the Tea Party might be connected to the mass shootings early this morning in an Aurora, CO theater during a screening of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. The mainstream media attempted to blame the Tea Party for the Tuscon shootings in January 2011, shortly after Republicans swept the midterm elections. Now, in the critical 2012 elections, the mainstream media seems poised to do the same-and ABC News has led the way. FULL STORY HERE

Brian Ross and George Stephanolpoulos are left-wing shills, nothing more, nothing less.

The TEA Party did it! Yeah, sure they did.

Only the truly deranged would come up with something like that, so, ABC News is right in line with where we’d expect them to be. Of course they are WRONG and were proven wrong in short order, hence the apologies, but here we go again, the American media is in the tank for the Obama regime and ANY straw that can be grasped to help Obama will be firmly grasped and published repeatedly.

Don’t think I’m heartless and uncaring about this, I am NOT, what I am is practical and I firmly believe that MILLIONS of gun owner, literally MILLIONS, killed no one today!

What we have witnessed here, as in any other mass shooting, is the work of a MAD MAN, someone that is mentally and emotionally unstable, someone that if they had even ONE family member made an issue of it, could have been committed to a mental institution, and as such, could have never LEGALLY obtained a gun again.

Read this folks: Some of the deadliest mass shootings around world, the media has it all documented for us, all the evidence is there, the only thing missing is the FACT that none of these shootings were committed by SANE gun owners.

The first thing the left did was to find a TEA Party member to pin this on. I do hope that this innocent man sues the hell out of ABC.

I fear that this is the trigger that lets Obama take the guns from us.

  2. Dick Robie says:

I think not the TEA Party but Occupy Wall Street maybe. I think they may just find out this guy is a nut. The Left wants a Socialist/Communist Government in the USA. In my mind that is clear. This will give them one more tool to get more control over the people and destroy our Constitution.

      Strange you should mention that:
“Black Bloc” member caught up in the OWS movement. According to a OWS forum post

This can’t be confirmed but the tweet was made… Just offering it up for folks to read…

  3. mrchuck says:

Obama cannot take guns away. No one person can change the Constitution of the USA.
It was NOT crafted that way.
Obummer will try hard any way he can to help elect him for a second Presidential term!

What I wonder about is where did this 24 year old student acquired all the money needed to go to gun shows, catalog orders, etc and buy all of the eqpt, ammo, arms, etc necessary that was used in this mass killing.

Something not yet known, set this man to plan, acquire “materiel’s” needed and then carry out this suicide massacre.

Sounds like he came to the end of his goal, this late Spring, to be a Psychologist.
    Wonder what caused this?

This clown had some loose wiring, according to the media, his Mother told em, “You have the right guy”… It appears that someone KNEW this guy was a nut job…

Why in the hell didn’t she speak up BEFORE this happened?

  4. BobF says:

There were probably no ccw holders there because they were home in bed or at work. I don’t go see movies at midnight.

    • TexasFred says:

      Great point Bob…

I am hearing from a reliable source that the theater company has a *rule* about patrons with a CHL carrying a gun…

      I guess this guy didn’t see the sign… 🙁

  5. Steve Dennis says:

While our first thoughts were with the family of the victims, Ross and Stephy’s first thought was to see if this could be pinned on the Tea Party and they resorted to lies to do so. They admitted they didn’t know if the Tea Party guy was the shooter and they ran with it anyway because their agenda trumped all else. This will be used by the left to talk about gun control, this didn’t work after the Giffords shooting and Ihope it will not now.

  6. Patrick Sperry says:

I’ve been “out of touch” due to truck problems and this was the first that I had heard about the incident. But, here goes…

Colorado is a “Shall Issue” state, but with a whole slew of caveats. In other words, it is still pretty much a Good Old Boys Club. Of which I happen to be a member in good standing. That said, not enough permits are issued to create a real deterrent effect, and when, at least so far, anyone does use a concealed weapon in self defense? You guessed it, go to trial. There is always, and yes, I do mean always; Some damned prosecutor that cares more about getting another feather in his war bonnet than about real public safety!

Then we have Aurora, and “Aurora Syndrome.” Colorado’s second largest city has an inferiority complex. They always have to have a one-upmanship sort of thing with Denver. Denver hates guns, so Aurora hates guns more. So to speak, and the merchants, including the movie theaters (all across the Denver urban corridor) ban any weapons. Permit or not. The Bennet Family Massacre, in Aurora, only adds to the feeding frenzy. It’s never been solved, and I will not say any more about it least I say something that might just trigger the madman that committed it to come out of retirement. Yes, I was there. Until Columbine, it was the worst mass shooting since the roaring twenties.

This will be cannon fodder for the anti freedom and liberty movement that has taken over the once great state of Colorado. I’m so damned glad that I moved away.

Ah, yes…George Step-in-awful-poop has cawed cawed out another big fat lie again, knowing that the guy with the same name is 52 and part Hispanic. Then there’s the soda-jerk Bloomie slurping out the “GUNS KILL” caw caw point. Ross makes the third liberal stooge to top off the trio of libtards (being nice here in case someone is having his or her meal while reading). I’m getting quite tired of these buffoons parading around in public. Fred, kudos for another great post.

  8. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

    Waitaminnit.

    WAITaminnit!

Is ANYone here even possibly “suggesting” that the suspect should be even remotely responsible for his crimes??

Because that, of course, would be judgmental and racist and blah blah blah.

Except yes: on the OTHER end.

    Let’s just examine some facts:

    AR15 $800-$1500.

Two .40 caliber Glocks at about $500 each.

    Remington 870 Marine Magnum $700.

Tactical ballistic body armor with plates $3000 to $5000 (if you could find it).

An unemployed PhD student from out of State drawing unemployment and driving a car with Tennessee plates registered to him, but no word he ever lived in Tennessee.

A University that brags it has more research grants than any other (I wonder what Federal Government is financing that research).

Witness statements that someone else opened the door for him but police refuse to comment and continue to attribute the violence to a lone gunman.

Immediate calls for more gun control.

    Why doesn’t this add up?

    • TexasFred says:

This comment is going to be a part of the story I post today, a bit of stuff about the killer, his motivations and so forth..

And of course YOU will be credited with this part… 😛

  10. minuteman26 says:

Wonder if Obama is shocked and saddened by the daily killings in Chicago or the killings of those Israeli kids in Bulgaria? And how about the Mexicans killed as a result of “Fast and Furious”. Naw! They don’t make him any political hay. The rest of us need to keep stocking up on guns and ammo.

  11. sdkar says:

There will be so many questions as to why this guy did this. I bet it’s simple. He was Angry and frustrated and wanted express his feelings to the world.
