Harry Reid shoots down Feinstein gun-ban bill

Sen. Dianne Feinstein emerged from a closed-door meeting with Majority Leader Harry Reid on Monday — but her ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines didn’t.

Mr. Reid turned down her attempt to bring her ban on 157 different weapons and ammunition clips aboard the Democratic Party’s comprehensive gun bill, Politico reported.

“My understanding is it will not be [part of the base bill],” said Mrs. Feinstein, California Democrat. “I would like to [see it moved], but the leader has decided not to do it. … You will have to ask him [why].”

Her bill instead will have to go forth separately or as an amendment — and that means it’s probably not going anywhere. SOURCE

OK, before you start jumping for joy think about this; Reid KNOWS that this bill will cause the Libtards to lose a lot of seats in the Senate, his being at risk 1st and foremost on his mind I am sure, but perhaps he also knows that this gun bill proffered by Dianne Feinstein has about as much hope as a snowball in HELL.

Feinstein probably has NO worries about HER Senate seat; after all, the people she represents, the ones that put her in office, are the bed-wetting Libtards that are dead set against ALL guns. Dead set, no pun intended, but it was funny.

Seriously, Reid is either protecting the Senate seats he sees going away OR he has a much more diabolical plan in mind; one that makes Feinstein’s bill look like a rookie attempt at legislation.

The original story is following along those same lines, with just a bit of variation.

Mr. Reid’s decision was likely aimed at bolstering the party’s chances to pass some gun control, even if it’s not as restrictive as many on the left would like. As Hot Air noted, Mr. Reid can now play the two bills off each other and make the case that he kept out Mrs. Feinstein’s more controversial version.

Mr. Reid is also likely looking at the 2014 elections, when several Democratic Senate seats are open for contest in conservative states, analysts say.

American Patriots, we can’t trust our President, Senate and many in Congress, the enemy is at the gates and we either defeat him and take this nation back or America as we have known it is over and done.

More political posturing by Dirty Harry… Alright, I know the TEA Party gal he ran against in the last election was a bit of a nutcase. But come on Nevada! Reelecting that twerp..?

  2. BobF says:

I think it’s Reid trying to protect senate seats for democrats. Reid has actually funneled federal money into Nevada to build gun ranges. He’s a despicable person but he’s smart and knows how devastating a gun bill like Feinstein’s would be for democrats.

  3. Katie says:

Reid will add this as an amendment to any bill he puts through. It ain’t over until Feinstein is out of office or dead.

  4. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

@ Katie: correct. She’s not going away, and her bill isn’t going away.

Never trust Harry Reid! Any time he does something we like we have to be really careful. I think he did this to keep senate seats for the Democrats.

  6. Gary says:

The problem with conservatives is we make the assumption that the words we use are used in the same way by liberals. The error is this: we ‘hear’ her saying “what we need is ‘CRIME CONTROL’ “ when in reality, what she is saying “GUN CONTROL”, which is indeed a violation of our 2nd amendment right. And the only logical reason to advocate GUN CONTROL is to ultimately disarm the general citizenry. That is inherently dangerous to our freedom.

This will not go away until private ownership of all firearms has been abolished, plain and simple. We have to be diligent to understand their ‘speak’ and the meaning they pour into those words. To NOT trust Harry Reid, or any politician for that matter.

  7. Bunkerville says:

I think any gun bill is poison. There will be a bulls eye on anyone who votes yea to any bill. It will keep the red blood flowing hot.

  8. Texasperated says:

So at last Harry Reid and Ted Cruz find something they agree on: Dianne Feinstein is an absolute idiot.
