Federal judge stalls Obama’s executive action on immigration

HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge in South Texas has temporarily blocked President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration, giving a coalition of 26 states time to pursue a lawsuit that aims to permanently stop the orders.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen’s decision late Monday puts on hold Obama’s orders that could spare from deportation as many as five million people who are in the U.S. illegally.

Hanen wrote in a memorandum accompanying his order that the lawsuit should go forward and that without a preliminary injunction the states would “suffer irreparable harm in this case.”

“The genie would be impossible to put back into the bottle,” he wrote, adding that he agreed that legalizing the presence of millions of people is a “virtually irreversible” action. SOURCE

Thank GOD that there’s at least one Federal Judge in the United States that has the best interest of AMERICAN citizens in his heart and mind and isn’t *in the tank* for Obama and his perversion of the United States Constitution.

In a statement early Tuesday, the White House defended the executive orders issued in November as within the president’s legal authority, saying the U.S. Supreme Court and Congress have said federal officials can establish priorities in enforcing immigration laws.

Establishing priorities is one thing, playing fast and loose with the law, and spinning it to suit the desires of Barack Hussein Obama in his effort to work a *blanket amnesty* into place is an entirely different matter.

“The district court’s decision wrongly prevents these lawful, commonsense policies from taking effect and the Department of Justice has indicated that it will appeal that decision,” the statement said. An appeal would be heard by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.

Of course there will be an appeal, there’s always an appeal, and in all probability the decision made by Judge Hanen will be overturned by an Obama supporting court that uses its power to legislate from the bench.

Joaquin Guerra, political director of Texas Organizing Project, called the ruling a “temporary setback.”

“We will continue getting immigrants ready to apply for administrative relief,” he said in a statement. The nonprofit says it promotes social and economic equality for low to moderate income Texans, called the ruling a “temporary setback.”

Sure, it’s merely a *temporary setback* for the AMNESTY crowd, and that is exactly what Joaquin Guerra and Texas Organizing Project are; amnesty supporters that feel they, and their people are above the law.

What these people, including Obama himself, don’t seem to understand is this; very few in the GOP and on the Conservative side of the aisle are against immigration when it’s done correctly and citizenship is earned and not *granted*.

Make no mistake my friends; this is, if overturned on appeal, the gate swinging wide open on the fast lane to American citizenship for illegals.

The coalition of states, led by Texas and made up of mostly conservative states in the South and Midwest, argues that Obama has violated the “Take Care Clause” of the U.S. Constitution, which they say limits the scope of presidential power, and that his executive actions would be difficult to undo once immigrants started to apply for deferred action. They also say Obama’s order would force increased investment in law enforcement, health care and education.

Citizens should be the master of the government, government should not be the master of the citizens.

Barack Hussein Obama is once again going to push HIS agenda and exercise HIS power over the will of the people, and once again, I hold Congress responsible for keeping the *Boy who would be King* in check, not allowing him to *rule* over the people.

I only hope that the people have the courage to stand and once again make Congress aware, painfully aware if necessary, that We, The People are the ones you work for, not Boehner and McConnell, not Obama, Pelosi and Reid, YOU WORK FOR US, and I am going to be evaluating your job performance on an almost daily basis.

Couple MY efforts with those of many other bloggers and political writers and we are indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Congress needs to wake up and realize this; We, The People put them there, not to lord over us but to do OUR bidding. We can remove them just as easily.

We cannot expect these pissants in congress to take any action that may upset the Obama immigration apple cart any more than they would draw up articles of impeachment. We are living in an age of fools and moral cowards.

Regardless of the outcome in New Orleans, this administration will, by executive order, start this process of giving illegals all the benefits WE THE PEOPLE have worked all our lives to achieve. This administration cares for no law or the people who raise their voices to object to their abuse of power that The Constitution specifically limits. The foundation of this nation is crumbling before our eyes and our system moves too slow to prevent the imminent damage we are about to endure. The usurper needs to be removed from office and that’s that. Impeach him now.

Suspect this will go all the way to the Supreme Court. The Obama regime will find a leftist court of appeals to rescind this present stay which will also be appealed. Shame they are so many anti-Americans within the judicial system.

Fred, you said, “Citizens should be the master of the government, government should not be the master of the citizens.”

Exactly. The States created the Federal Gov - the Fed gov did NOT create the sovereign states.

Should the court ruling be overturned, I fully expect secession - and either revolution or civil war 2. I never thought that I’d ever have to say that, but it looks like it’s getting to that point. Sooner or later the American people are going to wake up and history will repeat itself. It always does.

It will never happen, too many Americans are just straight up pussies… As long as they have food to eat, beer to drink and a TV to watch Dancing with the no one has talent Bachelor that bakes cakes with Rosie and Martha it WILL NOT HAPPEN…

      • deborah wilson says:

Well, Fred, that’s how it was at the start of the Revolutionary War - most people sided with the British. Only a small percent, around 10, actually got off their hoofs and began doing something about it.
At the start of the WBTS - many Southerners either took sides with the north, and joined the Union Army or moved out west - in turn, many Northern people sided with the south and ended up in jail or had to move south or the west. Point is, it doesn’t take All of the population - not even HALF of the population. Pray it never comes to revolution or civil war but it very well could…

I wouldn’t put too much hope in half of America - they are brainwashed in political correctness and reliance on the gov. But let me say this - if that reliance is ever severed or interrupted, even for a little while - when events start to affect them - then they will pay attention.

On the west coast, the dock workers have been on strike, many ships were just sitting there, and long lines of trucks waiting to be loaded…as I understand, the strike may be over, at least they are talking. But over the past week, I’ve noticed a lot of empty spots on the shelves in the stores in Ellijay. How long can Americans hold out if imports are disrupted?

  5. Petermc3 says:

While half listening to the wushu washy talking heads on FOX last night I thought what you brought up DeborH: When will the states finally have enough and start threatening seccesion? This is what people should be talking about.

    • deborah wilson says:

Peter, I’ve thought about that many times. But I truly believe that if this country were to ever divide again, it would have to be over something terrible - like the complete breakdown of D.C. - with no hope of recovery or reform, foreign occupation[invasion of States], economic crash, a pandemic, disruption of food assistance/ medicine, or a combination of any or all of the above.

I mention the west coast strike of recent weeks as an example in my reply to Fred above. We’ve heard very little of this matter in the MSM - yet a strike of this nature has the potential to do great harm. Much of America’s food and manufactured goods now are grown or made in foreign countries. Imagine those ships not being able to reach us. Half of all Americans can’t connect the dots yet because all things are still available to them. They didn’t live through Lincoln’s Anaconda Plan [where all southern ports were blocked - nothing got in or out] - or the Great Depression, where nobody had anything and ate at soup kitchens - if they were lucky.

People are too young and either don’t know about these things or they are not interested, which means, time will ensure that we forget.

OMG, the Spite House is in a tizzy about this. However, rumblings from DC indicate this may be a tad difficult to overturn and this has some persons quite concerned.
