Obama: No Hand on Heart for National Anthem

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007
A picture is worth a thousand words…

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. - United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171

Turns out that not wearing a flag lapel pin isn’t the only way Barack Obama chooses to show he’s a different kind of Democrat.

Have a look at the photo from the October 1, 2007 edition of “Time.” It shows Obama, Hillary and Bill Richardson at the Steak Fry of Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) on September 17 in Indianola, IA during [according to the photo caption] the National Anthem. Richardson and Clinton have their hands on their heart. But not Obama. Does he perhaps believe that, like wearing the flag pin, the hand on the heart isn’t “true patriotism”?

“Time” ran the photo without comment. I haven’t seen coverage of this anywhere else in the MSM. Perhaps some enterprising reporter can ask the Illinois senator about his decision to spurn this American tradition.

Meanwhile, does Obama have some third act or omission planned to demonstrate that he’s not falling for those corny, old-fashioned displays of patriotism?

H/T reader J.S.

NOTE: The original version of this item, based on a reader submission, stated that the photo was apparently taken during the Pledge of Allegiance. I’ve now located the original “Time” image, whose caption states that it was taken during the National Anthem.

I know there will be a few readers that say I’m picking on Obama because he’s black and because I’m a NAZI or a racist, or a skinhead or some such garbage, and to those people I say, as usual, you’re wrong, I am taking issue with Obama on this matter because he IS an un-American, closet Muslim ASSHOLE

Is that plain enough for all the reverse racists, bleeding heart libbers and dyed in the wool Dems out there?? Your boy Obama has NO concept of AMERICA, he has no love of country, he is an empty suit and his only agenda is to get elected so he can, in MY opinion, surrender this nation to Islam…

His words say otherwise but his actions speak the truth, a lot more than he would care to have known, any man that will NOT honor the flag of his nation is NOT a patriot, if the Dems in this nation are too stupid to see this for themselves, they are truly a lost cause, and I sincerely hope that they are NOT that stupid, don’t fall for the bullshit that comes from this America hating SOB Obama, he is NOT what he wishes you to believe him to be…

A hat tip to my blogging buddy Chicago Ray for having this story up, I found it there and I hope every blogger in this nation uses it, even the so-called progressives, Obama is their enemy as much as he is the enemy of all Conservatives…

Analysis: Many in child-sex cases serve no time

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

DALLAS — Despite new get-tough Texas laws aimed at harshly punishing child rapists, many offenders sentenced in the most heinous of child sex crimes initially receive no prison time at all, according to a newspaper analysis published today.

Research by The Dallas Morning News found that in 13,000 cases involving aggravated sexual assault of a child since 1991, four of every 10 sentenced offenders received deferred adjudication.

When an offender was sent to prison, less than one in five got 25 years or longer.

Under stricter sentencing laws passed in Texas this year, prosecutors can seek the death penalty for some repeat child rapists. But experts say that dealing harshly with sex offenders isn’t as easy as it seems.

One reason: Federal statistics show that 93 percent of juvenile sexual assault victims know their perpetrator, and parents are often reluctant to take a relative or friend to trial.

In MY opinion, ANYONE convicted of child rape, or pedophilia should be put to death, one strike and you’re out…

Look at that sick freak up in Seattle, Jack McClellan, he has a ‘how to’ blog on where to find little girls, and he has openly admitted that “If it weren’t illegal, I’d have sex with girls as young as 3 years old…”

I make NO apology in saying this, anyone that would do something like that doesn’t deserve to draw another breath…

It doesn’t matter if it’s a family member or a total stranger, these MONSTERS have got to be removed from society, some guy made a few sick comment in the comment section of the Houston Chronicle article saying that in some cases it has to be the child’s fault, and that is the statement of either a pedophile or a pedophile in waiting, no SANE person would make such a statement…

Our children are the most valuable natural resource on this planet, and they are the most innocent among us, we MUST protect them from the pedofreaks and their supporters…

Feds take aim at corruption by officials in New Orleans

Friday, October 19th, 2007

NEW ORLEANS — The voice on the radio assumes the tone of a high school principal: “Public service is not about stealing from the people — it’s about giving to the people.”

The voice belongs to James Bernazzani, the FBI’s special agent in charge in New Orleans. He, along with the U.S. Attorney’s Office here and a new inspector general at City Hall, is launching a very public assault on public corruption.

The FBI’s New Orleans office has tracked a 452% jump in corruption indictments the past five years. Corruption convictions in eastern Louisiana climbed 33% in the same period, making it one of the top spots in the country for such convictions, according to Justice Department statistics.

Among those convicted: 23 Orleans Parish school officials, 16 workers from city hall and 14 traffic court employees, along with judges, councilmen and other officials, said Jim Letten, U.S. Attorney for eastern Louisiana. “We’re going after anyone — whether it’s a teacher or minor public official — who engages in any kind of public corruption,” he said.

If the FBI intends to grab every Louisiana official that’s crooked, and especially every New Orleans and Jefferson Parish official that’s crooked, the state of Louisiana won’t have but a handful of folks left to run the entire state…

The FBI’s New Orleans office has tracked a 452% jump in corruption indictments the past five years, 452%!! Folks, that’s a lot of corruption, and 5 years ago no one could blame it on Katrina, it was just crooked Louisiana politicians, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg, it goes a lot deeper than just politicians…

Many of the investigations were launched before the 2005 floods and destruction unleashed by Hurricane Katrina. But the post-storm recovery, with billions of dollars in federal aid streaming into the area, can lead to further corruption and triggered agents to step up investigations, Bernazzani said.

Public corruption has plagued the New Orleans region for more than two centuries, spanning back to 18th-century French and Spanish rule, said Ed Renwick, head of the Institute of Politics at Loyola University. Back then, the monarchy-appointed governor held all the power and often indulged in corruption and cronyism, he said.

And here it is in print, from an MSM source, corruption has been a major way of life in New Orleans for over 200 years, but you can’t mention that to any of the people that populate the NOLA.com forum sponsored by the New Orleans Times-Picayune, God forbid you say one word about corruption and cronyism or having fears that the money the good folks of New Orleans feel they are entitled to, all $6.1 BILLION dollars of it, might fall into the hands of corrupt politicians, you’ll be labled a Klan member, a NAZI, a racist, a hater of New Orleans and any other name they can think of simply because you voiced an opinion, one formulated from having spent many years seeing what Louisiana politics has done to your beloved home state, you’ll be told that what happens in New Orleans is NONE of your business, you don’t live there so you have no right to voice an opinion, that’s from folks that claim to be good Americans, and I suppose they might be good Americans, as long as there’s not a differing opinion on New Orleans or Louisiana politics involved, but if you speak out you’ll find out real fast that the right to free speech and stated opinions only applies to THEM, they are New Orleans natives so they are the only ones entitled to speak concerning New Orleans…

But here’s the summation of the entire subject, this federal probe will get a few ’scalps’ under it’s belt, a few ‘crooks’ will go to prison, a few politicos will step down in disgrace, a very few, and the feds will stand around shaking each others hands and patting each other on the back and all the while very little, if anything will really change in the great state of Louisiana, the corruption is too deep, it’s inbred into the mentality of an unbelievably high number of Louisiana politicians, and potential politicians, and it would take several generation to breed it OUT, and even then I don’t believe you’ll ever get it all…

The feds do this every so often, they go to Louisiana and do one of their ‘holier than thou’ house cleanings, but I have yet to see ANY permanent change, you can’t affect a change in a system until you affect a change in the minds of a people, and that will take a miracle from heaven if the task is stopping corruption in the state of Louisiana…

Day care worker gets 8 years on child porn charge

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

A former day care worker was sentenced to eight years in prison today after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.

Renee Allene Lofton, 22, of Channelview, possessed more than 1,400 pictures and three movies of children being sexually abused, Harris County prosecutors said. There is no evidence, however, that any of those images depicted children from the day care, where Lofton worked for two months before her arrest, they said.

Lofton remained calm when state District Judge Don Stricklin pronounced her sentence, but her family gasped audibly and broke down in sobs.

Lofton’s fiancé yelled and cursed at the judge before storming out of the courtroom, but bailiffs caught up with him in the hallway and put him in a holding cell. The man was let go a half-hour later after he apologized for his outburst.

He and Lofton were supposed to get married in the next two weeks, a prosecutor said.

Lofton, who faced up to 10 years in prison, is the only woman known to have been charged with a child pornography offense in Harris County in the last several years. All other defendants prosecuted for the crime in federal or state courts since 2004 were men, records show.

Well there ya go, fairness at it’s very best, my only gripe is that she didn’t get 10 times that 8 years…

The war against pedophiles and perverts is a never ending battle but this is one that can be called a victory, and one we can look to for encouragement, the ‘good guys’ still win one once in a while…

TexasFred’s Non-Scientific Polling Place

I have started a NEW site, TexasFred’s Non-Scientific Polling Place where I will be posing some serious questions on numerous topics, all responses are anonymous, even as the blog owner I can’t see who votes for what, I have not, nor will I set up a Site Meter or a Technorati listing, there are NO tracking cookies as far as I know, this poll and your vote is TOTALLY anonymous and confidential…

I intend on keeping this blog and poll up at least through Election ‘08, and I intend on having new poll questions posted daily if at all possible, I would appreciate it if you fine folks would submit some SERIOUS question for the poll, along with the answer options you want to have displayed…

I think we need a place where reasonable and intelligent questions can be posed by ALL and responded to by all as well, we get a good look at the ‘pulse’ of the blogosphere that way, and this question submission is NOT limited to Republicans or Conservatives, it is open to ALL, and all submissions will be considered…

Please do me a favor?? Pass this along to your email list and/or make a post on your blog about it??

If you make a post linking the new blog, let me know via email, I will link you here and return the favor, but you need to include your blogs name and URL in the email, I list over 300 blogs and have about 225 folks on my email, if you’re not one of the ‘biggies’ I may not recognize a name alone, email me with your URL…

And PLEASE, don’t hesitate to contribute poll questions, just email them to me at [email protected] and if they’re intelligent, well stated questions with no more than 6 answer options, they may be used…

I have a large variety of categories at the bottom of this post, maybe we can all get some ideas and contribute to this polling site…

Thanks folks, Fred

Prosecutor Accused in Sex Sting Kills Himself in Prison Cell

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

DETROIT — A federal prosecutor accused of flying to Detroit last month to have sex with a 5-year-old girl committed suicide Friday in his cell in a Milan federal prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John D.R. Atchison was found unresponsive, taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 10:17 a.m., Federal Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Felicia Ponce said.

Atchison, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., was being held in a special housing unit in the prison, about 36 miles southwest of Detroit.

The administrative detention area houses all levels of prisoners, and Atchison had a cell to himself, Ponce said.

An investigation into his death is under way, she said.

Prosecutor Accused in Sex Sting Kills Himself in Prison Cell

Ya know, once in a while I just can’t help but think that Mr. Rogers theme song is very appropriate, “It’s a lovely day in the neighborhood, oh won’t you, won’t you be, MY neighbor?”

We can all be neighbors and celebrate this cretins departure from Planet Earth and his journey into the depths of HELL, and I hope it’s really hot you son of a bitch!

I wonder, will there be an outcry of wrongful death as happened HERE and HERE?? I mean, were this pervs rights violated?? Just because he went to Detroit with the express intent of having sex with a 5 year old girl?? We just couldn’t live with ourselves if we denied him a constitutional right now could we??

Yeah, THAT was sarcasm, personally, I want to see the death penalty applied to ALL convicted child molesters, if they are PROVEN guilty, beyond a shadow of a doubt, hang the bastards, on the Court House lawn, in full view of ALL, any so-called adult that would harm a child is a sick individual, any so-called adult that would molest a child is the lowest form of humanity on this earth, and their suicide, or execution, is an event to be celebrated, this guy, just like the one in Murphy, TX recently, was an officer of the court, he KNEW better, there was no excuse for his actions, his attempt to molest a 5 year old girl, and this piece of trash will not be mourned by me or my friends…
