Radical Muslim preacher Abu Qatada granted bail in Britain

May 8th, 2008 . by TexasFred

LONDON (AP) - A radical Muslim preacher accused of having close ties to al-Qaida was granted bail by a British immigration appeals commission Thursday.

Abu Qatada, who was jailed in 2002 over accusations that he played a key role in raising money for extremist groups and provided spiritual advice to militants planning terror attacks, will remain in custody until arrangements for his release are completed.

Judge John Mitting ruled the cleric should be released after the Court of Appeal ordered the government in April to stop extradition proceedings, claiming he faced the threat of torture if returned to his native Jordan.

But the judge acknowledged Qatada could pose a national security threat and imposed a strict 22-hour curfew, meaning he must be inside his home for all but two hours a day. Precise details of the curfew will be decided at another hearing, probably within two weeks, officials said.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she was extremely disappointed with the decision and would “take all steps necessary to protect the public.”

Ya know, it’s going to be really interesting to see what happens when the Islamic hordes take over Europe, and take it over they will, as surely as you’re reading this, it WILL happen…

And it will be interesting to see how long it takes before we hear the cries, “But where are the Americans?? Why won’t they come and save us again??”

And even more interesting than that will be the response of the USA if Obama is the new U.S. president, I am guessing that he will back his Muslim brothers and let Europe go to hell in a hand basket, because you can’t save a people when you’re allowing your own nation to be taken over by Islamic rule and Sharia law…

Can you??

It’s coming folks, I can see it in our very near future, and what I see is ugly, it all depends on how soon they come after our guns, when that event happens, and under a presidency of Barack Obama it will happen, when that happens we’ll be in a fight for our very lives…

I’d say you need to prepare, and I don’t mean stock up food and water, the fight won’t last that long, it will be brief, violent and decisive, and depending on whether or not our own troops take up arms against the citizens of this nation, either way, it will determine the course of this nation for whatever remains of her existence…

EDIT TO ADD: And the above scenario shows us exactly why American presidents have maintained close ties with the U.N. and it’s supporting nations, they know, or are reasonably sure that American troops won’t take up arms against their own people…

U.N. troops would have no reservations in doing so…

South Texas leaders blast plan to speed up border fence

April 2nd, 2008 . by TexasFred

Texas border land owners, mayors and wildlife groups blasted the Bush administration’s sweeping plan to waive nearly three dozen federal laws to speed construction of a border fence by year’s end.

Using authority granted by Congress, the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday it plans to issue two waivers to complete 670 miles of fencing in four border states. DHS says it has finished 309 miles of fencing, leaving 361 miles to be constructed by a December deadline.

“Criminal activity at the border does not stop for endless debate or protracted litigation,” Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in a statement. “These waivers will enable important security projects to keep moving forward.”

Border leaders, however, continue to stress the fence is a heavy-handed and ineffective approach to security that will harm endangered species, force landowners to sell ancestral river property and destroy habitat that supports ecotourism on the Texas border.

One DHS waiver will be used to complete a 22-mile combined river levee-fence project in Hidalgo County. The second waiver covers an additional 470 miles of fencing — through 2008 and future years — in Texas and three other border states. The waivers are the largest employed by DHS since its fence project began.

South Texas leaders blast plan to speed up border fence

If ‘border leaders’ think the HSA solution to the ILLEGALS crossing the border is heavy handed, they sure won’t like MY idea of border security or how I would go about making it happen.

We have a wonderful Texas National Guard, let’s use them where they are intended to be used, in TEXAS, and let’s use them for the purpose they are intended as well, the protection OF the great state of Texas and her LEGAL citizens.

Let’s station the Guard on the border, we can give them FULL combat capabilities and equipment, air support from helicopter gunships and maybe some A-10’s just for good measure, let’s install some .50cal machine gun emplacements about every 750 yards, with interlocking fields of fire, we can lay down anti-personnel mines from the edge of the river, oh, say maybe 100 yards in and call it a ‘no mans land’, Claymore mines too, we can string them maybe 200 yards in, on OUR side of the border, nothing is out of the question when it comes to stopping ILLEGAL INVADERS, not if I was the guy in charge!

And then we give the troops a GREEN LIGHT, anyone crossing that border at anything other than a LEGAL border crossing just became a target of opportunity in a ‘free fire’ zone, man, woman or child, makes NO difference, drop ‘em where they stand, NO PRISONERS, the buzzards and coyotes have to eat too.

Harsh you say? You’re damn right it’s harsh, it’s meant to be harsh, but you can bet your bottom dollar that IF we had a POTUS and a few governors with the kind of balls required to make things like this happen, we’d have a lot less ILLEGALS in Texas, and a lot of other places in this great nation as well.

And another thing, the strain on OUR welfare system, Social Security system and OUR health care providers would drop substantially, and that would take some of the strain off of the American TAX PAYER!

That’s us folks, you and me, ‘We, the people’, born free and taxed to death to support a bunch of ILLEGALS that won’t lift a finger to help America.

And I have to ask, WHY do we continue to tolerate this BS??

Weather May Delay Shootdown of Satellite

February 20th, 2008 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - High seas in the north Pacific may force the Navy to wait another day before launching a heat-seeking missile on a mission to shoot down a wayward U.S. spy satellite, the Pentagon said Wednesday.

Weather conditions are one of many factors that U.S. military officers are taking into account as they decide whether to proceed with the mission Wednesday or to put it off, according to a senior military officer who briefed reporters at the Pentagon on condition that he not be identified.

The officer said the assumption had been that the mission would go forward Wednesday night, unless conditions are determined to be unfavorable. Earlier in the day, bad weather in the north Pacific was causing rough seas, which may be a problem for the USS Lake Erie, a cruiser armed with two SM-3 missiles.

“We don’t anticipate the weather being good enough today,” the officer said, adding that conditions could improve enough in the hours ahead to permit it to go forward. A final decision would be made by Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Alluding to the high seas and strong winds, the officer added, “It has not been enough for us to say ‘no’” and put the launch mission off until Thursday. But it would take improved conditions to proceed.

Weather May Delay Shootdown of Satellite

OK, I have had this feeling for a long time but now I am completely convinced, our nation is being led by a bunch of idiots, I mean indisputable, total, rubber room idiots, from the President right on down through the leadership at the DoD, and only God knows where else…

For one thing, according to this, “Adding to the difficulty of the shootdown mission, the missile will have to do better than just hit the bus-sized satellite, a Navy official said Tuesday. It needs to strike the relatively small fuel tank aboard the spacecraft in order to accomplish the main goal, which is to eliminate the toxic fuel that could injure or even kill people if it reached Earth.” it’s got to be better than a perfect shot, it’s got to be that miraculous shot, one in 100,000,000 I guess, long odds anyway…

Now here’s what I want to know, IF they do hit the satellite itself, but not a direct hit on the fuel tank, what happens to the fuel then?? Does it vaporize and just disappear into the vastness of space, is that what happens if they DO hit the tank itself?? Will it eventually migrate it’s way back into Earth’s atmosphere and dissipate itself there?? Does the White House, NASA or the DoD have an answer to that?? If they DO have answers, I haven’t heard them…

Is this all much ado about nothing??

So, here’s the part that convinces me that we’re led by morons, “High seas in the north Pacific may force the Navy to wait another day before launching a heat-seeking missile on a mission to shoot down a wayward U.S. spy satellite, the Pentagon said Wednesday.”, in other words, it ALL depends on the weather, tell me that Military and Intelligence are words that don’t belong in the same sentence because somewhere in a secluded room in Moscow, Boris and Natasha are laughing manically while they try to tune in the Weather Channel so they can plan their next attempt at taking over the USA…

If we can’t strike a satellite in bad weather, what chance do we have of stopping an inbound flock of ICBMs?? The Russians are drooling over this little theater as it plays out for the world to see…

U.S. fears Pakistan spillover

December 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

President Bush held an emergency meeting of his top foreign policy aides yesterday to discuss the deepening crisis in Pakistan, as administration officials and others explored whether Thursday’s assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto marks the beginning of a new Islamic extremist offensive that could spread beyond Pakistan and undermine the U.S. war effort in neighboring Afghanistan.

U.S. officials fear that a renewed campaign by Islamic militants aimed at the Pakistani government, and based along the border with Afghanistan, would complicate U.S. policy in the region by effectively merging the six-year-old war in Afghanistan with Pakistan’s growing turbulence.

“The fates of Afghanistan and Pakistan are inextricably tied,” said J. Alexander Thier, a former United Nations official in Afghanistan who is now at the U.S. Institute for Peace.

U.S. military officers and other defense experts do not anticipate an immediate impact on U.S. operations in Afghanistan. But they are concerned that continued instability eventually will spill over and intensify the fighting in Afghanistan, which has spiked in recent months as the Taliban has strengthened and expanded its operations.

Unrest in Pakistan and increasing fuel prices have already boosted the cost of food in Afghanistan, making it more likely that hungry Afghans will be lured by payments from the Taliban to participate in attacks, a U.S. Army officer in Afghanistan said.

U.S. fears Pakistan spillover

I hate to say ‘I told you so’, but, I told ya so, and so did a few other forward looking sites, Pakistan IS the most volatile place on earth right at this moment and warnings were sounded along about the time Bhutto went back to Pakistan, several mil-bloggers told everyone, this IS going to happen, and it has…

We, the USA, have tried to install a democracy in Iraq, a nation that is a lot more peaceful, for now, but all the Bush Bots need to ask themselves this question, why is it more peaceful, is it all because of the much maligned SURGE or are there other factors to be considered??

And IF they are willing to give an honest answer I think they would conclude that the reason for the lessening of violence in Iraq is because, as I opined recently, the radical Islamic insurgency are heading for Pakistan and Afghanistan, easier pickings so to speak, especially Pakistan, we don’t have a huge military presence there and the Pakistani army is not a force to be reckoned with…

Afghanistan is on the verge of becoming a HOT ZONE all over again, Pakistan is erupting as I write this and yet we are mired in the affairs of Iraq, not exactly where we need to be in MY opinion but that poses another question, what are we going to do IF Bush decides to re-engage the insurgents in Afghanistan as well as continuing to remain engaged with those that remain in Iraq and then address the problems and the certain dangers faced in Pakistan?? You see, for all the BS about WMDs in Iraq, the ones that to this very day have NOT been found, Pakistan DOES have WMDs, and those WMDs, nukes, are a heartbeat away from falling into the hands of Islamic radicals…

Bush supports Karzai in Afghanistan, al-Maliki in Iraq and Musharraf in Pakistan, 2 warlords that rose to power and 1 military leader that took over by means of a military coup, and now the administration is meeting to discuss the deepening crisis in Pakistan, well, I hope that the fate of the USA is much better served by these discussions than it was by the discussions 5 years ago, the ones that caused us to minimize our involvement in Afghanistan and traipse off to Iraq on the Bush Mission of Vengeance

And then there’s Iran to consider, if Iraq and Afghanistan have our military stretched to the breaking point as has been claimed, what can we do to address the latest imminent threats??

Spillover?? I guess that’s going to become the new ‘catch phrase’ in D.C., spillover, seems to me like BOIL over may be a lot more appropriate…

Illegal immigrants leaving Arizona

December 22nd, 2007 . by TexasFred

PHOENIX (AP) — Illegal immigrants in Arizona, frustrated with a flagging economy and tough new legislation cracking down on their employers, are returning to their home countries or trying their luck in other states.

For months, immigrants have taken a wait-and-see attitude toward the state’s new employer-sanctions law, which takes effect Jan. 1. The voter-approved legislation is an attempt to lessen the economic incentive for illegal immigrants in Arizona, the busiest crossing point along the U.S.-Mexico border.

And by all appearances, it’s starting to work.

“People are calling me telling me about their friend, their cousin, their neighbors — they’re moving back to Mexico,” said Magdalena Schwartz, an immigrant-rights activist and pastor at a Mesa church. “They don’t want to live in fear, in terror.”

Full Story Here:
Illegal immigrants leaving Arizona

And this is something bad just how??

Every single state in the nation needs to pass this law, we must make it so tough on employers that the illegals are faced with 2 choices, get legal, which is what they should do in the 1st place, or leave the USA, how simple can it be??

And here’s another little gem for all of you, I preached and howled at this same time last year and no one in a position of authority listened, and I doubt they will this year either, but every wetback in the USA tries to go back to Mexico or wherever for Christmas, they want to spend the holidays with their families, and I think that’s a really nice sentiment too, admirable even, well, there’s something WE need to do at this time of year too…

Close the damned border and shoot any SOB trying to sneak back in…

I am guessing that at least half of the 18 million or so WETBACKS in this nation would be denied admission to the USA if we’d act, but the time to act is NOW, put the National Guard on the border, with full combat capabilities and tell em, ANYTHING coming over that border is an ILLEGAL invader, KILL IT!!

Piece of cake, we have dead wetbacks all over the place, now that’s what I call ‘Happy Holidays’!!

If I am to be called ‘racist’, if I am to wear the name, if it makes me a racist to stand up and defend MY nation and to call an illegal invader a wetback, to call them by the only name that truly describes them for what they are, WETBACKS, then you’re damn right, I AM a racist, and I’ll wear the title proudly…

I am filled with holiday cheer, and with love of my fellow citizens, the key word here being: CITIZENS, but I believe that you must take your opportunities when and where you find them, and this is a viable way to remove more illegals, with less effort, than deportation than could ever cover, let em walk out and don’t let em walk back in…

The simplicity of sheer genius…  :)

But I have one question about being a racist, when did wetbacks become a race?? Wouldn’t it be more accurate to call me a bigot??

Rice: US Has ‘No Permanent Enemies’

December 21st, 2007 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Friday held out the prospect of improved relations with the remaining two members of President Bush’s “axis of evil,” Iran and North Korea, as long as they meet international demands over their nuclear programs.

Rice said the Bush administration in its remaining year would welcome fundamental changes in its dealings with the two countries, as well as with Syria, and as an example pointed to warming ties with Libya, which renounced weapons of mass destruction in 2003.

“The United States doesn’t have permanent enemies, we’re too great a country for that,” she told reporters at a State Department press conference.

But she stressed that neither North Korea nor Iran would benefit from closer relations with the U.S. unless they come clean about their weapons intentions.

Full Story Here:
Rice: US Has ‘No Permanent Enemies’

Once thought to be the most intelligent person in the Bush White House, and it wasn’t all that hard to claim the position, Condi has shown just how dingy she really is…

Sixty-six Americans were taken captive when Iranian militants seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran on Nov. 4, 1979 and in MY opinion, we should have been in a state of war right then and there, we have had Iran’s government and religious leaders as enemies for just over 28 years, now that may not qualify as permanent in Condi’s book but here’s a thought for the smartest person in the Bush administration, Iran will not acquiesce to our way of life, thinking, religion or any other part of the American lifestyle, ever, and as long as Islam exists, we WILL have permanent enemies…

The Bush administrations performance has been somewhat less than stellar in most all areas, and once again they don’t disappoint, Rice can’t be much more than a mouth piece for Bush, uh, no pun intended, but if this is the belief of the Bush administration, well, they’re even dumber than a lot of folks think they are…

Yes Condi, we DO have permanent enemies, and what little respect I had for you just took a tumble…
