Report: NSA contract worker is surveillance source

Edward Snowden CIA NSAWASHINGTON (AP) - A 29-year-old contractor who claims to have worked at the National Security Agency and the CIA allowed himself to be revealed Sunday as the source of disclosures about the U.S. government’s secret surveillance programs, risking prosecution by the U.S. government.

The leaks have reopened the post-Sept. 11 debate about privacy concerns versus heightened measure to protect against terrorist attacks, and led the NSA to ask the Justice Department to conduct a criminal investigation into the leaks.

The Guardian, the first paper to disclose the documents, said it was publishing the identity of Edward Snowden, a former technical assistant for the CIA and current employee of defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton, at his own request.

“My sole motive is to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them,” Snowden told the newspaper. SOURCE

I am certain the NSA has a nondisclosure agreement that ALL of their personnel must sign simply as a rule of consideration before being employed in ANY capacity. I would imagine even the *housekeeping* staff would have to sign such as well.

If Edward Snowden truly has worked for the CIA and the NSA I am certain that he has signed such a nondisclosure agreement as well.

Most sources online have indicated that Edward Snowden is in Hong Kong and is seeking asylum in some nation that will resist extraditing him to the United States if the Obama administration were to seek his prosecution for leaking so-called *national secrets*.

Here is one story that makes me think the writer doesn’t know OR perhaps Snowden may not be all that he claims.

In his interview with The Guardian, Mr. Snowden said his job had given him access to myriad secrets that the United States government guards most jealously, including the locations of Central Intelligence Agency stations overseas and the identities of undercover agents working for the United States. SOURCE

No one that currently works for the CIA, or has ever worked for the CIA makes the mistake of saying *CIA Agent*.

CIA employees have titles, operatives are called OFFICERS and the higher up the chain you go the *bosses* have titles, but no one is a Central Intelligence Agency Agent. It just sounds dumb anyway.

The CIA is very selective regarding who it employs, here is a link to their employment page and it gives the reader quite a bit of good information on requirements.

Application Process — Central Intelligence Agency

Nowhere does this page specifically state that there is a nondisclosure agreement, but I assure you, there is. In that line of work there has to be.

If I was Snowden I don’t know if I would be as worried about prosecution as I would some unfortunate accident or medical emergency that may or may not happen at some unspecified time and place.

I don’t know about the NSA and their capabilities, but according to stories I have heard from people that are supposedly *in the know*, the CIA can, and possibly would hunt you down even if it meant sending someone to the farthest reaches of the earth to find you, or so I am told, by this guy I know that has a friend that has a cousin that knows this other guy that’s working in the Agency. :?

If Edward Snowden really is who he claims to be and truly knows all that he claims to know then he has placed himself is great peril to come forth with the information he has made public. Snowden may never return to this nation a free man.

Snowden may have gone against the grain to make his accusations public knowledge but I have to say, THANK YOU Mr. Snowden for having the courage to do so. The American people are in severe need of a HUGE wake-up call, this may be it!

Well yeah and then some. First thought was this person will be in mortal, grave danger for a long time. People who cross Obama, Clinton has a way of ending up DEAD from some ‘accident’ or dying mysteriously and the list is quite long and getting longer all the time.

Some things are not adding up for me but then I tend to trust hardly anyone and have always been like this. Not surprising a foreign paper media source broke this first. The lap dog Goebbels like media here are still in the tank, for the most part for the POS obama. I truly loathe this POTUS and progressive regressive traitorous lackeys who lick his a$$. Sorry Fred, just pissed off.

Nothing to apologize for my friend, you speak truth and that is always in fashion here…

To find out what’s going on, we have only two reliable sources: Foreign news media and Conservatives Blogs like this one. It seems that the UK Daily Mail and even Pravda are telling us things that end up true.

Edward Snowden needs to watch his back, to be sure. If I were him, I would be worried about my safety.

  3. Steve Dennis says:

There is no doubt in my mind that this man’s life is in danger, and he probably should be prosecuted if he is caught but I am with you one this one, we owe this man a thank you.

  4. mrchuck says:

He will probably end up with a “polonium” pellet in his calf.

  5. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

I too am leery of his CV regarding his knowledge.

Someone this young seldom has access to the information he claims.

However, as I stated a few years ago, if you want to really know what’s occurring in the US, you’ll read UK media.

That jumped out at me also, the age thing, and then I saw in one article that he has epilepsy… That would most certainly stop him from field work and I have to wonder, would it place him in an *office* position because of the PCness today? No discrimination because of ANYTHING?

The CIA hiring link states health must be very good.. Just sayin’…

What struck me the most was when in the video, he said the data is kept basically forever and how it could be manipulated to create something damaging for someone who is guilty of nothing. And thinking how easy it would have been for Snowden to wiretap anyone, well, with all we have seen from the present shenanigans of this ruling class how can we know someone isn’t already in the pocket of our ruler doing just that?
Every time he opens his mouth or his mouthpiece speaks, I see subtext: this is a lie, this is a lie.

Actually, it’s men and women like this that I have wondered where they are. Looking back at the past 10 years and all the unknowns about Liberals like John Kerry and Obama, I have wondered where the file clerks are. Those low ranking seemingly insignificant people who are assigned the mundane duties of typing and filing information. As a Senior NCO who oversaw a large section with many subsections, I had an administrative clerk who had access to everything I did. She prepared all the reports and filed the paperwork. As a low ranking airman, she knew everything I did to what was happening and had my complete trust. Where are the clerks who prepared Kerry’s initial discharge papers? Where are the clerks who processed Obama’s college applications, transcripts, grades, and records? Where are the clerks who filed Obama’s birth certificate application or viewed it when he initially got into politics? When Dan Rather produced supposed damaging military documents on GW Bush, it was a Blog who initially spotted the forged documents but it was the clerk/secretary who verified the documents as forged and in the improper military format.

My hunch this will turn out to be the greatest hoax of all time. He just took William Binney and other whistle blowers info that has been out there for over a year. He worked for the private company for three months? Nope, they will prove nothing on him. I bet he will be clean as a whistle.

  9. Patrick Sperry says:

First Fred, I really have to wonder if he is related to “Uncle Johnny.”

That said, I would have serious doubts about vetting him for several reasons. However, the stink appears to be sticking to the s*it. Even worse, info wars reported about something very similar well over a year ago. Perhaps the crackpots are not so cracked after all. I certainly would not have any doubts about this administration trashing the Bill of Rights. They do have a history of doing that after all.

  10. J.R. says:

Nothing so obvious as a HA, poison, gunshot, etc…He will simply ‘go-away’ one day, never to be heard from again…..I can hear the conversation now…..Snowden: “Mr. Hoffa!!! Fancy meeting you here!!”

In 6 months, the public will have forgotten the entire matter…and its back to business as usual.
