BEIRUT, Lebanon - Hezbollah said Saturday it was withdrawing its gunmen from Beirut neighborhoods seized in sectarian clashes after the army ordered its troops to establish security and called on fighters to clear the streets.

But while tensions in Lebanon’s capital appeared to be defusing, at least 12 people were killed and 20 wounded when pro- and anti-government groups fought in a remote region of northern Lebanon, security and hospital officials said. It was the heaviest toll for a single clash since sectarian fighting began on Wednesday.

Hezbollah and its allied seized large swaths of Muslim west Beirut Friday, demonstrating their military might in a power struggle with the government.

Western-backed Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, in his first public statement since the sectarian violence erupted, said Lebanon can no longer tolerate Hezbollah having weapons. He called on the army to restore law and order and remove gunmen from the streets and accused Hezbollah of staging a coup.

If Barack Hussein Obama is allowed to ascend to the Oval Office this will be a real and highly likely scenario right here, in OUR towns and cities, the Islamic radicals are already in place, and I have warned, repeatedly, that all they are waiting for is the order to go ahead with their attacks…

I have felt that they are waiting for their command structure to fall into place, and come November, if Obama is elected to the office of POTUS, they will have that leadership structure set…

Hide your heads in the sand if you like, but it IS coming, and you can either work now to make it NOT happen, or you can do nothing and when these animals called an insurgency starts to operate openly here in America, you can submit to them or die…

Some of us will die, but it won’t be because we submitted, it will be because we went down fighting to defend America, or, what’s left of Her!!

And yes, I know, some will call me a bigot or a racist alarmist, but Hitler was an eloquent and impassioned speaker, just as Obama is touted as being, if the warnings had been heeded prior to Hitler being allowed to take power, well, just sayin’…

Barack Obama wants to be president of these 57 United States

Ah, Oregon. The beautiful Northwest. Rain. Trees. Clouds. Rain. Friendly territory for Sen. Barack Obama, the leading contender for the Democratic Party’s long-disputed presidential nomination.

So there he was in Beaverton today at the start of a two-day swing through Oregon, virtually ignoring his remaining Democratic opponent, what’s-her-name from New York, as part of his new strategy to act like the actual nominee while she flails around way behind in numbers.

Naturally, this being the Northwest where everything is not ruined quite yet, his staff had Obama visit an eco-friendly company, Vernier Software & Technology, that makes products for science teachers. He could get education in there too, see?

In his prepared remarks Obama was ready to start blasting Arizona Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, to show the Illinois Democrat is moving on to the general election campaign.

But first the freshman senator had to go through all the obligatory delighted to see you, delighted to be here part of stump speeches that also require that you actually know where you are.

Obama pulled that off O.K. But then he drifted away from the text a tad, as rookies are wont to do sometimes, forgetting how exhausting this primary process is and should be. And trusting in their instincts, their very tired instincts.

“It is wonderful to be back in Oregon,” Obama said. “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it.”

The Times’ conscientious Robin Abcarian thought she heard something different there. She checked her tape recorder. It had captured what he had actually said — 57 states now. A new Louisiana Purchase that’s gone unannounced so far? Was he channeling his inner John Kerry-Heinz 57 personality?

(UPDATE: At a later stop Obama was talking with reporters and expressed concern he’d also mis-stated the number of potential cyclone victims in Burma. He said, “”I hope I said 100,000 people the first time instead of 100 million. I understand I said there were 57 states today. It’s a sign that my numeracy is getting a little, uh.” At that point, an aide cut him off and ushered journalists out. Before he could mis-speak again?)

Oh, and as far as Hawaii voters are concerned, they’re probably delighted to learn that Obama’s campaign staff doesn’t think that tiny state can justify an appearance by his eminence, even though he did a lot of growing up there. Or maybe because he was there.

Let’s see what they do with that in the Honolulu media, which the Republicans have probably already notified.

Maybe it’s Obama’s age. He’s getting up there in his forties, you know.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama’s problem winning votes from working-class whites is showing no sign of going away, and their impression of him is getting worse.

Those are ominous signals as he hopes for strong performances in the coming week in Indiana and North Carolina primaries that would derail the candidacy of Hillary Rodham Clinton, his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination. Those contests come as his candidacy has been rocked by renewed attention to his volatile former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and by his defeat in last month’s Pennsylvania primary.

In an Associated Press-Yahoo News poll in April, 53 percent of whites who have not completed college viewed Obama unfavorably, up a dozen percentage points from November. During that period, the numbers viewing Clinton and Republican candidate John McCain negatively have stayed about even.

The April poll - conducted before the Pennsylvania contest - also showed an overwhelming preference for Clinton over Obama among working-class whites. They favored her over him by 39 percentage points, compared to a 10-point Obama lead among white college graduates. Obama also did worse than Clinton among those less-educated voters when matched up against Republican candidate John McCain.

“It’s the stuff about his preacher … and the thing he said about Pennsylvania towns, how they turn to religion,” Keith Wolfe, 41, a supermarket food stocker from Parkville, Md., said in a follow-up interview. “I don’t think he’d be a really good leader.”

Just before the Pennsylvania primary, Obama said many small-town residents are bitter about their lives and turn for solace to religion and guns.

I am going to state this in the most PC way I can think of, anyone that supports this racist liar is a fool, it’s that simple, and this working class white guy NEVER saw any appeal in a pandering politico like Obama…

He has NO experience at running anything, none, the closest he’s been to the White House was on a visitors pass, Obama worked as a community organizer, university lecturer, and lawyer before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. Source

Now I am guessing that conventional weapons refers to military weapons, but I wouldn’t put all my eggs in that basket either, Obama is a gun grabbing nut, Barack Obama on Gun Control, here are some examples:

Stop unscrupulous gun dealers dumping guns in cities. (Jul 2007)
Keep guns out of inner cities–but also problem of morality. (Oct 2006)
Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions. (Jul 1998)
Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers. (Jul 2005)

This person is WRONG for America, he is wrong for CONSERVATIVE America, he’s wrong for liberal America too, but they are too blind to see what electing him president can do to ALL Americans…

If you love America, vote Conservative, Obama can’t be allowed to ascend to the presidency of this nation, he is going to give this nation over to Islam and destroy America, and I believe this in my heart, if you are as convinced as I am, please make a serious effort to campaign against Barack Hussein Obama…

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama and his wife said Thursday the public is tired of hearing about incendiary remarks by their former pastor, as they sought to put the controversy that has rocked his presidential campaign to rest.

“We hear time and time again voters are tired of this,” Michelle Obama said in an interview the couple gave to NBC’s “Today” show.

“They don’t want to hear about this division, they want to know what are we going to do to move beyond these issues,” she said. “And what made me feel proud of Barack in this situation is that he is trying to move us as a nation beyond these conversations that divide.”

Barack Obama said he initially tried to give the Rev. Jeremiah Wright the benefit of the doubt when films clips first surfaced on the Internet of fiery sermons the pastor gave at their Chicago church - a series of haranguing declarations from the pulpit in which he damned the United States for racial oppression and accusing the government of deliberately spreading the HIV virus to harm black people.

“When the first snippets came out, I thought it was important to give him the benefit of the doubt because if I had wanted to be politically expedient I would have distanced myself and denounced him right away, right? That would have been the easy thing to do,” said Obama. This week he denounced Wright’s comments as “giving comfort to those who prey on hate.”

Obama says public tired of hearing about his former pastor

Barack Hussein Obama and his wife are BOTH lying, pandering, sniveling, Muslim wannabe lovers of Islam and hate this United States of America, and in my heart I fully believe that he and his wife will do everything in their power to give this nation over to Islam IF he is allowed to ascend to the White House…

The public isn’t tired of hearing about Rev. Wright, Obama and company are tired of hearing about Rev. Wright, and that is the truth if ever it was spoken, Jeremiah Wright has cast a pall over the Obama campaign, he has brought attention to Obama that he and his supporters do NOT want…

Jeremiah Wright, the racist, moonbat that he is, has actually done ALL of us a HUGE favor by speaking his revealing diatribes…

Obama was going to “give him the benefit of the doubt” (Wright) but now says he has distanced himself from Wright because his comments are, “giving comfort to those who prey on hate.”…

Mr. Obama, your Jeremiah Wright may well be doing exactly that, but in doing so he has exposed YOU as one of his disciples, albeit one that would throw him under the bus once you determined that he IS hurting your campaign…

And not trying to compare Wright to Jesus Christ, not in any way, but Obama does make me think of Judas Iscariot, Obama followed this hate spewing ‘reverend’ for over 20 years and claims to have never known that any of this was in his heart until it threatens his campaign?? Did Wright suddenly change his style of preaching?? Did his true self only come out recently??

Barack Hussein Obama is a liar and a hypocrite, and this will NOT be the last time those words are seen in print, Obama had better get used to it, this battle has only begun, and the ammunition is plentiful, thank you Rev. Jeremiah Wright, thank you for giving us that ammunition…
