Sen. John Cornyn is NOT a CONSERVATIVE

EDIT: This story has a link now: Contact the White House before Thursday’s Immigration Summit
DEAR TEXANS,
Your very short phone call to Sen. Cornyn is desperately needed today.
202-224-3121
Insiders on Capitol Hill are saying that he is one of the bi-partisan Members of Congress invited to meet with Pres. Obama at the White House on Thursday to “jump-start” plans to pass a giant amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens.
Sen. Cornyn has been making incredibly frightening pro-amnesty statements lately. Only you in Texas can shake him back to some degree of sensibility.
Earlier this spring at a Senate hearing, he said that he is in agreement on most immigration issues with Sen. Schumer (the radically pro-amnesty Democrat from New York who chairs the Senate panel on immigration).
Then yesterday, the authoritative Capitol Hill newspaper — Roll Call — said Cornyn intends to goad Obama into moving faster to pass comprehensive immigration reform. That terminology almost always means amnesty.
Roll Call’s Jessica Brady reported:
Cornyn Calls on Obama to Present Immigration Reform Plan
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) on Tuesday called on President Barack Obama to come up with a comprehensive immigration plan this year, saying a directive from the White House is the only way to push the complex issue forward.“What we need is not another photo op at the White House. What we need now is a plan from the president,” said Cornyn, ranking member on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security.
“The president doesn’t write legislation, but he does have the bully pulpit,” Cornyn said, adding that right now “it’s unclear how they can get it finished.”
Sen. Cornyn has routinely gone off the reservation since he arrived in Washington, promoting one form of amnesty and foreign-worker increase after another, before Texans bring him back to reality.
But although his work behind the scenes and his statements in the media generally deserve a D-grade or worse, his actual votes earn him an Immigration-Reduction Grade of a B — because Texas voters lobby him back to a decent position.
The nation is depending on Texans to do that again today and tomorrow.
Here are some talking points when you call his office:
I can’t believe Sen. Cornyn was reported in Roll Call as calling on Pres. Obama to push through comprehensive immigration reform this year — which everybody knows means amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens. When Sen. Cornyn meets with Pres. Obama at the White House Thursday, I want him to state Texans’ opposition to any amnesty for illegal aliens.
Sen. Cornyn should state these principles for immigration reform to Pres. Obama:
(1) Turn off the job magnet for illegal immigration by mandating E-Verify for all employers. This can be done immediately, before any other “reform” is put in place.
(2) The net result of all immigration reform must be a large net reduction in annual green cards. Immigration of foreign workers and dependents has been running four times higher than traditional levels. The million green cards a year should be cut as far toward 250,000 as possible.
(3) The nation is in a jobs depression. Most immigration of foreign workers should be suspended so that jobless Americans can have a better chance to get back into the jobs market.
(4) Any attempt to give permanent work permits to an estimated 8 million illegal foreign workers would be political suicide while 14 million Americans looking for a job can’t find one.
Well, imagine that… I take on AFP over Cornyn and his FAKE Conservatism, Activism, Political Activist Groups and the MSM and then this hits a few days later. One of these days folks are going to learn, TexasFred does NOT say anything he can’t back up and doesn’t fully believe. I didn’t stay alive all these years by being WRONG in my analysis.
And to Cindy Mallette of Americans for Prosperity; how’s that Austin TEA Party guest list looking now?? Is that “strong conservative voice in Washington, D.C.” still a strong Conservative voice? How in the HELL can you people at AFP, and The Austin TEA Party, stand the hypocrisy that you are promoting?
