Could an Obama loss spark race riots?

A political scientist at a Christian college in New York City warns that if Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama loses the election on November 4, race riots could break out in large U.S. cities.

A recent Associated Press-Yahoo News poll suggested Senator Obama’s race could cost him up to six percentage points on election night. David Corbin, a politics professor at The King’s College, contends there is potential for public riots the night of or after the election, if Obama’s lead in the polls does not translate into victory.

“I don’t think that’s something that we’ve looked at very closely, and I think that this could be a powder keg here as we get towards that day, given that Senator Obama is an African-American and given that there might be some backlash if he actually loses,” Corbin explains.

Corbin notes that seemingly small stories involving O.J. Simpson and Rodney King have brought into play terrible riots in major cities across the U.S. “I think a lot of people are looking to an Obama presidency to affirm the notion that somehow Americans aren’t racist and, if for some reason Senator Obama loses, then it’s just, ‘Oh well, it’s said and done. We must be a racist nation,’” Corbin adds.

People who fuel that claim of racism, according to Corbin, do damage to one of Senator Obama’s main themes — moving beyond a red-and-blue, or black-and-white America.

Could an Obama loss spark race riots?

OK, just for the sake of argument let’s look at it this way, suppose Obama cleans McCain’s clock and wins in a landslide? And took the Electoral College by storm, just suppose.

Have you heard ANY rumors of race riots in case that scenario were to come to pass?

I know I haven’t, but then again, I am not a person that lives a mindset that dictates that because someone like Rodney King decided to ignore police orders, and got his ass beat all to hell and back in the process, well, I need to go burn down MY neighborhood, and the businesses that cater to ME and MY people, that just isn’t a thought process that I have ever adhered to or heard mentioned in my 55 years on this earth, and I have been around some serious racists, I have heard the mantra, from WHITE and BLACK racists.

There may very well be race issues, possibly riots, the law enforcement community, as well as National Guard troops, are prepared, as is a HUGE portion of the more sane residents of the USA, we’ll stand our ground, and drop ANY moonbat anarchists that want to lay waste to our homes and/or businesses. That is not a threat, it’s a stone cold fact.

Regardless of who wins in November, McCain or Obama, there is NO reason for violence, but I can tell you this, there is already word on the street, and the police are very aware of it too, IF Obama wins there are certain elements of the black community, the *ghetto boys* or the wannabe *gangsters* that are already making it known that when their brother Obama gets elected they are taking no more sh*t off of any cracker-assed white f*cking police.

That is the truth folks, as true as it has EVER been told, it comes from confidential sources, and I can assure you, those threats are not being taken lightly. If I were you, I’d be prepared to stand MY ground and defend MY property, no matter how this thing turns out. Either way, the criminal element of the black community is going to have ALL the excuse they need to go on a rampage, all they need is a spark to set off the powder keg.

And their victims will be of ALL colors and races.

Ecuador has new constitution; opposition worried

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) - Ecuador’s leftist President Rafael Correa urged his opponents Monday to join his efforts to build a more just society, saying the overwhelming victory of his constitutional referendum gives him a broad mandate.

“Thank God my triumph was so convincing and so crushing, beyond all our expectations,” he told international reporters at a breakfast. “Let’s hope they reflect and let the country advance peacefully.”

With 90 percent of ballots counted, 64 percent of Ecuadorean voters approved the measure, according to official results. Correa got the majority he needed in all but two of Ecuador’s 24 provinces.

The 20th constitution in the history of this chronically unstable nation considerably broadens Correa’s powers and will let him run for two more consecutive terms, consolidating what he calls a citizen’s revolution.

They have had 20 constitutions in their history? Wow, sounds like someone in Ecuador has even less respect for their constitution than some in American government have for ours.

Now I know that many say it never happened but rumors still float that George W. Bush himself threw a tantrum when constitutional law was presented to him and supposedly said, ‘ it’s just a goddamned piece of paper’.

Now I can’t confirm or deny this as true and factual, I wasn’t there, but there appears to have been at least 3 sources that came forth and another that heard it but for his own reasons decided to not become involved. I don’t care if it was said, Bush is very close to being a chapter of American history that we can close, what I care about is NOW.

Rafael Correa, Ecuador’s president said, “I’m only here to serve my homeland. I’m not interested in power,” and that is somewhat reminiscent of the blather we are hearing today, look at todays congressional vote on the bailout, and that’s not over yet.

Look at this article, Backlash to Obama officials squelching political speech, free speech is being quashed in THIS nation, we are on the verge of becoming exactly what the nation of Ecuador is, a leftist nation with a socialist dictator in charge, and if anyone thinks the Bush gaffe of ‘ it’s just a goddamned piece of paper’ was a bit over the top, just wait until the Obamessiah gets into the Oval Office, the constitution as we know it will cease to exist and the Brownshirt Truth Squads will run free in this nation, and they will quite likely be the only thing free.

Obama claims he only wants what’s best for America, but I believe him to be nothing more than a LIAR of the 1st order, Obama wants what’s best for Obama, and if you look at leaders like Correa, Chavez and Castro, you’ll have a glimpse into America under Obama.

House defeats $700B financial markets bailout

House defeats $700B financial markets bailout

WASHINGTON (AP) - The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue package, ignoring urgent pleas from President Bush and bipartisan congressional leaders to quickly bail out the staggering financial industry.

Stocks plummeted on Wall Street even before the 228-205 vote to reject the bill was announced on the House floor.

When the critical vote was tallied, too few members of the House were willing to support the unpopular measure with elections just five weeks away. Ample no votes came from both the Democratic and Republican sides of the aisle.

Bush and a host of leading congressional figures had implored the lawmakers to pass the legislation despite howls of protest from their constituents back home.

At the risk of saying “I told ya so?, well, I told ya so…

The words Bush and confidence are just not compatible, an oxymoron in it’s most exact definition. When Bush projects confidence, BOHICA, Bend Over, Here It Comes Again!

Bush doesn’t give a damn about what the American people want, he does NOT listen to the people that put him in office, it’s ALL about HIM, “I am the decider?, and that moron, along with the Congresscritters that just love to give YOUR money away, on BOTH sides of the aisle, are going to wreck this nation before they leave office if they can…

The Bush legacy is being set in stone as I write this, ‘Mr. Bush presided over the most destructive phase of U.S. government to date, earning Mr. Bush the title WORST President in U.S. history.’

Bush does have one thing in his favor, our Congress is even worse, their approval numbers are dismal, and the American people are taking the brunt of this BS.

Both sides are pointing fingers, you did this, and you said that, and here’s the bottom line folks, we, the American people, are being seriously penalized for bad business decisions made by Wall Street, and we’re going to pay for those bad decisions, one way or another, with our TAX dollars in a Wall Street bailout, or in a loss of ALL the economy if Wall Street fails.

Any way it goes, WE lose…
