What have we allowed this nation to become? We have teachers that are seducing, molesting and raping our children. We have law enforcement officials, high ranking officials, that engage in drug smuggling and the importation of ILLEGAL aliens, the very acts that they are charged with stopping and protecting us from.
We have preachers that are bilking people out of millions of dollars, all for *show*, because they certainly have NO connection to faith, other than the faith they have in their ability to con good people out of even more money.
We have church officials, from nearly ALL denominations, that engage in sexual affairs with their parishioners, or, lacking that, some that force themselves on young victims, in violation of the law, but more importantly, a violation of faith and trust as they corrupt the most innocent among us, the children!
Then we have folks that do try, that try to do the very best they can in life, they work, they take care of their families, they pay their taxes and they don’t cause problems for anyone. But now, because of all the crime and corruption that is running rampant in America, decent people now feel like they must go armed, all the time, even in the confines of their own homes, or, as in the story below, to a ball game that their child is playing in. I am one of those people. I don’t carry a gun to feel big and bad, I have absolutely no desire to use the gun I carry, but I will use it, and I will never hesitate, not out of some misplaced machismo, but because I refuse to willingly allow myself or my family to become victims. Victims, because we rolled over and refused to fight back!

The good people of this nation are in a really bad spot. We don’t have a voice anymore, we feel that if WE don’t protect our homes and families, certainly no one else will. We accept personal responsibility for our actions. We make every attempt to try and put this nation back on the straight and narrow. We get our asses handed to us by Congressional and Senate members that vote to turn the U.S.A. into a socialist nation.
It’s called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY folks, and if the American people, as a MAJORITY, don’t stand up, as one, and DEMAND that this nation, and it’s leaders adhere to that personal responsibility, the America that we once knew is gone forever.
I am not pointing fingers at ANY individual party or persons, I am pointing my finger at ALL parties, and any person that refuses to stand FOR this nation and refuses to work as hard as necessary to bring the United States back to the forefront as an example of what a nation should look like.
What has this nation become? A 50/50 mix of patriots versus antagonists, perverts, crooks and charlatans, those that would give us over to One World Government, crime and perversion at ANY opportunity. The truly sad part is, the numbers in government are even more lopsided, more like 3 to 1 in favor of killing America as it once was. If any doubt those figures, simply look at the recent vote our Congress and Senate made regarding the Wall Street bailout and the unbelievable infusion of TAX dollars into the private market.
It’s called socialism, and we are living it!

There IS something good about this. These atrocities made it into the press. Yay! You won’t hear a word after inaugration day if Obama wins - because it will be right and normal. And you can forget that carry permit. But then who needs a permit, Fred?
Permit??
IMO, we started spiraling down into the cesspool when prayer was removed from school. Little by little, we’re are allowing evil to take over. It’s folks like us that are the last line of defense. Problem is, so many are oblivious to the danger.
Yeah, bad things happened in this country before O’Hare stuck her nose into my business (the schools), but never to the extent as what is happening now. We use to have morals, integrity, honor. No longer. Now, with the ‘if it feels good, do it” bunch in charge, anything goes. A field trip to a lesbians “wedding”. God on His Throne is getting ready to slap us down. Big time.
I agree with Kate. I think that “slap-down” she refers to is waiting in the wings… and it’s name is Obama.
I pray that Longstreet and Kate are wrong, but - to quote Obi Wan Kenobi, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this”…..
The mainstream press has already called the election for Obama/Obiden - I even heard one commentator say Bush/Cheney should step down 11/5 so Obama can immediately take over. The Chicago thug is already talking policy with Pelosi (that’s enough to send chills down your spine) while ACORN is doing its best to rig the vote.
In all my life, I have never experienced such dread during an election season.

I just don’t know what to believe - only, when I ask liberals how exactly life will be better with Obama and Biden in office, I hear nothing but silence as they try to think of something… anything.

In my opinion, neither is worth a bucket of warm piss.. Palin is, I believe, the future, but suppose McCain lives another 8 years?? He *might* make some good SCOTUS nominations, we can only hope, and perhaps he *might* make the most horrendous choices ever, McCain IS a wild card and I seriously fear HIS anti-gun self as much as I do Obama…
I honestly believe McCain IS that snake in the grass when it comes to guns, and I have heard people say “Yeah, but Palin is all FOR guns”, and yeah, SHE is, but SHE won’t be POTUS, HE will…

I couldn’t agree with you more on this Op/Ed, everything you stated is true.
As a teacher (8th grade) I am saddened by the state that some of our children are in. The disrespect, the constant defense, the inability to shut up for two minutes to gain a little bit of knowledge is scary. The generation that will one day lead, us is going to fail us all. Morals are lost. I know I shouldn’t say it as an educator, but some hope is lost.
I need to carry a knife to work just to feel safe. I’m just trying to make it in this world. Pay my dues and live peacefully in society. While others corrupt the system, and fail us all as proud Americans.
And I feel proud knowing that even though I don’t have a permit for a concealed weapon, there are those around me who still believe in protecting individuals.
I always say, “why do we call the police? cause they got the guns.”
Cut out the middle man, protect yourself.

We are DONE. Of course Im still going to vote but we are going to spend our time preparing to hold on to our money and ride out the next 4-8 years of Socialism. If you have any “pie” left, you better hide it.
