Aerosmith Says Steven Tyler Has Quit

The sweet emotions that the members of Aerosmith once felt towards each other have apparently come to an end. In an interview with The Las Vegas Sun, the group’s lead guitarist, Joe Perry, said that the singer Steven Tyler quit after a concert in Abu Dhabi. “Steven quit as far as I can tell,” Mr. Perry told The Sun. “I don’t know any more than you do about it.”

Mr. Perry was responding to remarks that Mr. Tyler made in an interview with Classic Rock, a British music magazine, in which Mr. Tyler said that he was preparing to focus on a solo career. “I don’t know what I’m doing yet,” Mr. Tyler said, “but it’s definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself - Brand Tyler.”

Mr. Perry said he had had difficulty confirming this with Mr. Tyler because the singer doesn’t return his phone calls. “He’s notorious for that,” Mr. Perry told The Sun. “That’s one thing I’ve learned to live with. I try to overlook it.”

Aerosmith canceled several concerts over the summer amid an injury-plagued season after Mr. Tyler fell from a stage on Aug. 5. A publicist for the band did not immediately return a request for comment.

Aerosmith Says Steven Tyler Has Quit

I know this may surprise a lot of folks, but I am, and always have been an fan of Aerosmith. I love good Rock and Roll, and Aerosmith fell into that definition for me.

Good Rock and Roll, that immediately rules out Techno and Punk. As far as I am concerned Rap is CRAP. For me, it’s AC/DC, KISS, Led Zeppelin, Heart, ZZ Top, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Eagles, Eric Clapton and many more.

Old Rock, old C&W, traditional C&W, not the wannabe rock stars that didn’t make the grade, but people like Alan Jackson and George Strait, that is good music. And today I am needing to take a break from politics and Ft. Hood.

I am going to kick back and listen to some great music and try to get my head back together as I lower my stress, blood pressure and sugar levels.

Geez! I hope that is more rumor than truth! I, too, am a long-time fan of Aerosmith (& the other groups you named).

And Queen… I know Freddie Mercury was as queer as a $3 bill but DAMN, that guy could sing!

Aerosmith, who? They came along after my hayday. I like the ole time rock and roll. Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Shirley and Lee and Professor Long Hair. And I should add old cajun music like that from SW Louisiana spots such as Mamu, and Eunice. Great tunes are made by the great memories that go with them. The songs and tunes seldom stand alone. Enjoy the break from all the BS!!!

Did you mention Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band??? I love Aerosmith and many others. Stevie Ray Vaughn too.

Hope you had a good ole R & R Fred. I know pounding on moonbats can be exhausting.

I have always loved Aerosmith, Stevie Ray Vaughan was (and still is I just can’t go to a concert anyomre RIP Stevie) my personal favorite. His brother Jimmie said it best when describing Stevies talent, “Stevie didn’t play music when he was performing the music just poured out of him” I saw him live in 1985 and it was the loudest concert I have ever attended. I also like Steppenwolf my personal favorite (although a long song) is featured here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpuyXdKx9Ws
Funny how the lyrics still ring true today.

With the exception of Kiss and ZZTop, yer dead on. Just a matter of personal taste really. Never appreciated Queen in their heyday but fags or not they’re now one of the most listenable “classic” rock acts around. Their new stuff with Paul Rodgers is excellent.
