Dodd has been diagnosed with prostate cancer

WASHINGTON - Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., has been diagnosed with an early stage of prostate cancer and intends to have surgery early in August, his office said Friday.

Dodd plans to be back at work when Congress reconvenes in September, according to an e-mail his office circulated to fellow senators. The AP obtained a copy.

Aides also said the diagnosis would not affect Dodd’s plans to seek a sixth term in 2010.

At a news conference in Hartford, Conn., Friday afternoon, Dodd said “I feel fine … we caught this early.”

Dodd, 65, is chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and also is playing a lead role in Congress’ overhaul of the nation’s health care system. He took that role while his close friend, Senate health committee Chairman Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., fights his own battle with brain cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most common form of the disease in men in the United States, affecting about 6.4 out of every 100 men in Dodd’s age group, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Send his 65 year OLD ass home with a bottle of pain pills and then go back and check on him in a few months, ask him how that ObamaKare BS is working out for HIM!!

I am truly sorry the guy has cancer, but the only way these SLUGS in D.C. will ever get over their love of Obama and ObamaKare is to make THEM suffer through it themselves.

Dodd is an egotistical moron. He’s on TV right now, running his head about his Senate Health Care Plan, and how that coverage is likely what has, and is, going to save him.

He’s touting that yearly physical and all. If this was your average 65 year old white male, would ObamaCare provide HIM with all the needed care to fight prostate cancer? Diagnosis, surgery, followup treatment?

Will ObamaKare equate to the exact same care for WE, The People as it does a Senator?

I seriously doubt it will.

Much like my great Congressman, Mr. Sam Johnson said recently, “If ObamaKare is so good, the Senate and Congress members supporting it need to be the 1st ones signed up on it.

If my understanding of ObamaCare is correct, older Americans, and Sen. Dodd IS an OLDER American, will suffer the most. We, as older Americans, are highly expendable.

We have, some believe, lived our lives and made all the useful contribution to America that we are capable of making. I dispute that assumption. It has only been in the last few years that I have hit my stride. I am enjoying the richness of my experience that youngsters not in my age group haven’t had the opportunity to live.

I honestly don’t begrudge Sen. Dodd the treatment he needs, I just want him to wake up and realize that his ideas of ObamaCare, and the treatments that it would approve, are NOT treatments that you and I would receive at the same age and in our lesser stations in life.

If we’re going to ALL be equal, as the Obamessiah wishes us to be, let’s let the equality begin in D.C. with Health Care. And I am NOT wishing anything off on anyone, but what do you suppose the reaction would be if Obama, his wife, or their children were in need of immediate and critical health care?

Can you say bring in the finest doctors IN THE WORLD and spare NO expense!? Expense that WE, The Taxpayer, would be footing?

I know you can!

No. 3 Republican to back Sotomayor for high court

No. 3 Republican to back Sotomayor for high court

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate’s No. 3 Republican announced Thursday he’d break with the rest of his party’s leaders to support Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, who’s in line to become the first Hispanic justice.

Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander said he was voting for President Barack Obama’s nominee despite his differences with her, particularly on gun rights.

“Even though Judge Sotomayor’s political and judicial philosophy may be different than mine, especially regarding Second Amendments rights, I will vote to confirm her because she is well qualified by experience, temperament, character and intellect to serve,” Alexander said in a speech on the Senate floor.

Alexander, a conservative, is only the sixth Republican to publicly line up with majority Democrats to back Sotomayor, a native of Bronx, N.Y. and a federal appellate court judge. She’s virtually guaranteed to be confirmed in a vote next week, and is expected to join the Supreme Court in time for an earlier-than-usual meeting in September to hear a campaign finance case.

No. 3 Republican to back Sotomayor for high court

This article calls Alexander a *conservative*. That is as far from the truth as anything that could possibly be said. Lamar Alexander is lower than POND SCUM. There is NO WAY in hell that ANY Conservative would vote for Sonia Sotomayor, I would say that the good people of Tennessee have their work cut out for them and I sincerely hope that this RINO SOB Alexander is currently enjoying what will be his final term in office.

conservative – adjective
1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
2. cautiously moderate or purposefully low: a conservative estimate.
3. traditional in style or manner; avoiding novelty or showiness: conservative suit.
4. (often initial capital letter) of or pertaining to the Conservative party.

conservative –noun
8. a person who is conservative in principles, actions, habits, etc.
9. a supporter of conservative political policies.
10. (initial capital letter) a member of a conservative political party, esp. the Conservative party in Great Britain.

Lamar Alexander needs the above definitions SLAPPED upside his RINO head!

A Conservative doesn’t vote FOR an anti-gun SCOTUS nominee. A RINO votes for anything his Democratic and Libber brethren tell him to vote for. Lamar Alexander can’t even spell the word Conservative, much less define it.

Sen. Alexander, if you really feel that you must kiss Obama and Sotomayor’s asses, the next time, can you just do it over a beer in a motel room somewhere?

RINO - noun
1. See Lamar Alexander

Dems warn GOP of backlash for opposing Sotomayor

Dems warn GOP of backlash for opposing Sotomayor

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate debate over Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor turned bitter Wednesday, after Democrats warned the GOP it would pay a steep price for opposing the judge who would be the first Hispanic justice, and a top Republican charged they were playing destructive racial politics.

Majority Leader Harry Reid implored Republicans Wednesday to join Democrats in voting to confirm Sotomayor next week, warning that GOP opposition would bring the same sort of public backlash that followed the party’s spirited opposition to measures that would have given some illegal immigrants a chance to gain legal status.

“I just think that their voting against this good woman is going to treat them about the same way that they got treated as a result of their votes on immigration,” said Reid, D-Nev.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, the head of his party’s Senate campaign committee and a Sotomayor opponent, shot back that Reid and other Democrats were trying to exploit the nomination and “giving cover to groups and individuals to nurture racial grievances for political advantage.”

Dems warn GOP of backlash for opposing Sotomayor

Ya know, I guess I’ll get called names for this one too, but I wish someone in D.C. had the guts to take Harry Reid down and give him an old fashioned ass kicking. I was hopeful that perhaps Cornyn might, until I saw his very PC response.

Sometimes I think about the way it was once done, like when former Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton and sitting Vice President Aaron Burr went at it with pistols. Man to man. But I suppose those days are long gone and we have become far to civilized. At least for now.

“I don’t think it influences people’s votes, but what it does encourage is a very poisonous - indeed a very toxic - tone of destructive politics,” Cornyn told The Associated Press. “They ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

Ashamed? You have got to be kidding me. They are Democrats. They don’t have a shameful bone in their bodies. They study and hone their tactics at Democratic Underground, The Daily Kos, Huffington Post and the like. My God Cornyn, have you learned nothing in the time you’ve spent in the Senate? Shame and Democrat are words that just don’t go together.

And again, they have NO shame, but the people that should be ashamed are the people in Nevada that voted a worthless little piss-ant like Harry Reid in to begin with, and have continued to send this worthless little asshat back time after time.

The decision on how to vote on her confirmation was made more difficult in recent days for some Republicans and Democrats from conservative-leaning battleground states after the National Rifle Association, which has a loyal and politically active base of members, announced that a vote to confirm Sotomayor would count against senators in the group’s annual candidate ratings. The NRA calls Sotomayor “hostile” to the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Of course Sotomayor is “hostile”, she’s as “hostile” as it comes, that’s why she’s the perfect tool for Dem/Libbers and their anti-guns agenda.

Fox’s Glenn Beck says he believes Obama is racist

July 28th, 2009 . by TexasFred

Fox’s Glenn Beck says he believes Obama is racist

NEW YORK (AP) – Fox News Channel commentator Glenn Beck said he believes President Barack Obama is a racist. Beck made the statement during a guest appearance Tuesday on the “Fox & Friends? morning show. He said Obama has exposed himself as a person with “a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.?

His remarks came during a discussion of Obama’s reaction to the arrest of Harvard University scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. Gates is black and was arrested for disorderly conduct by a white policeman over a misunderstanding about a break-in at Gates’ home.

An Obama spokesman, William Burton, said the White House had no comment on Beck.

Beck’s statement was challenged on the air by Fox host Brian Kilmeade, who noted that most of the people who work for the nation’s first black president are white.

“I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people,? Beck said. “He has a problem. This guy is, I believe, a racist.?

Fox’s Glenn Beck says he believes Obama is racist

Personally, I believe that Glenn Beck is 100%, dead center, square on the mark. But here’s the real truth about being *on the mark* in the MSM, even with the mighty FOX News Network, sometimes, no matter how right you are, your words are going to come back to haunt you, and possibly cost you a job. Ask E.D. Hill.

E.D. Hill and her show, “America’s Pulse? has been removed from her time slot at Fox, because of something she said in her news presentation . On June 6th last, on her former program, “America’s Pulse,? E.D. Hill teased in a segment about body-language about Obama’s fist bump with his wife Michelle.

Obama supporters and the leftist blogs on the web were in a rage and an uproar about the comments, and George Soros’ “Media Matters? began a campaign encouraging people to contact Fox and complaint about what is in their view an unforgivable slight of Obama and Michelle.

Fox Removes E.D. Hill and Her Show

E.D. Hill makes a crack about the fist bump, an exhibition of ghetto solidarity if ever there was one, and *poof*, she’s history.

And just today, Michelle Malkin was on Glenn Beck’s program. I know she wasn’t directly involved but she was present when FOX made a reference to Michelle Obama being the BABY MAMA!

NEW YORK (AP) – Fox News Channel referred to Michelle Obama as “Obama’s baby mama? in a graphic on Wednesday, the latest in a trio of references to the Democratic presidential campaign that have given fuel to network critics.

The graphic “Outraged liberals: Stop picking on Obama’s baby mama? was flashed during an interview with conservative columnist Michelle Malkin about whether Barack Obama’s wife has been the target of unfair criticism.

My story on that incident is HERE but it appears that MyWay or AP has removed the story from their link.

Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming at Fox, said in a statement that a producer “exercised poor judgment? during the segment. The producer was not fired; no other disciplinary action was announced. Hill’s “terrorist fist jab? comment came in a tease to a segment on the candidates’ body language, and it wasn’t repeated during the subsequent interview. She told Fox it was taken from something she had read online.
