WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama criticized Arizona’s tough immigration law Wednesday as “misdirected” and said it has the potential to be applied in a discriminatory fashion. He called for overhauling the nation’s immigration laws and said that can’t be done unless Republicans support it.
Speaking at a joint news conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, Obama said the Arizona law, which makes it a crime under state law to be in the U.S. illegally, came about because of “frustration over our broken immigration system.”
Obama has directed the Justice Department to review the law and said he expects to receive a final report soon.
Calderon shares Obama’s opposition to the Arizona law, and has faced pressure from lawmakers at home to raise the issue of immigration reform during his visit to Washington. He said the law criminalized migration and could encourage discrimination.

Today, a foreign president, Mexican President Felipe Calderon, stood on the grounds of OUR Capitol and condemned United States and Arizona law, and our so-called President agreed with him and his condemnation.

WASHINGTON - During a White House visit, Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Wednesday condemned Arizona’s tough new immigration law, calling it discriminatory to Mexicans.
Calderon said Mexico and the United States should work together to develop an immigration policy that did not force people to live in the shadows “with such laws as the Arizona law, which is forcing our people to face discrimination.”
Calderon, whose remarks were translated from Spanish, was speaking at the start of a state visit to the United States.
Later, during a press conference with Calderon, President Barack Obama reaffirmed his commitment to comprehensive immigration reform and also denounced the Arizona law.

I don’t know about you, I can’t speak for ALL Americans, but I personally don’t give a DAMN what Mexican President Felipe Calderon thinks about U.S. or State law.
Legal immigration built this nation and I personally, am all for LEGAL immigration and the great Americans that the LEGAL immigration process brings to our shores.
However, ILLEGAL immigration is just that, ILLEGAL.
That simple fact seems to escape the basic comprehension level of many Americans, our dim-witted POTUS, his administration and apparently, quite a few foreign leaders as well as their citizens.
Today we saw a travesty take place on the grounds of our Capitol, we saw our President turn his back on America, that is an irrefutable fact.
What do you call it when the POTUS stands with a foreign leader against America?
Both of these yahoos are trying to destroy the USA. Calderon is an enemy and Obama is a traitor. The end game is for a northbound only open border with no gringos allowed south. Armed conflict is the only way the border states will be able to remain sovereign. States need to put their own armed force on the border and be prepared to confront the feds also. Time to fish or cut bait and find out who is with us and who the who be the real rat finks. If it takes an incursion into Mexico to get Calderon’s attention so be it.
