WASHINGTON (AP) - After skirting the controversy for weeks, President Barack Obama is weighing in forcefully on the mosque near ground zero, saying a nation built on religious freedom must allow it.
“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country,” Obama told an intently listening crowd gathered at the White House Friday evening to observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

Is there ANY doubt where the loyalties of Barack Hussein Obama lie?
Many of us have accused him of being a ‘stealth Muslim’ since long before the presidential race of 2008. We didn’t, or, more precisely, I didn’t attack him for being half Black and half White, that is something he had NO control over. I did address the fact that I believe him to not be what he claims to be, a Christian. And for that questioning of Obama’s true religious belief, I have been called a vile racist.
I also happen to be one that believes Obama to be a non-citizen, but that’s another matter.
The White House had not previously taken a stand on the mosque, which would be part of a $100 million Islamic community center two blocks from where nearly 3,000 people perished when hijacked jetliners slammed into the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001. Press secretary Robert Gibbs had insisted it was a local matter.
Robert Gibbs, as big a PC, Casper Milquetoast moonbat as I believe him to be, is right in this instance. It is a local matter. Why then, if he is NOT a Muslim himself, does Barack Hussein Obama feel the need to weigh in on this matter? Is he pandering the Muslims for votes and support? Is he that desperate?
I know his approval among GOP members is non-existent, I know his approval is rapidly falling within his Democratic party. Is Barack Hussein Obama so desperate for some sort of vindication, some kind of support, that he would openly ingratiate himself to Islam?
Anyone that doesn’t believe that Barack Hussein Obama isn’t in the pocket of Islam needs to read this: America’s Rich Muslim Heritage.
Obama is a terribly confused individual where American history and heritage are concerned.
Obama elevated it to a presidential issue Friday without equivocation.
While insisting that the place where the twin towers once stood was indeed “hallowed ground,” Obama said that the proper way to honor it was to apply American values.
Apply American values? I have said on this blog before, it’s a good thing that people like Obama were not in power in 1941. We’d ALL be speaking Japanese right about now if they had been.
If Obama’s idea of the application of American values is any indicator, I have to believe that he would support the building of a Japanese temple at Pearl Harbor!
Do you want further proof that Barack Hussein Obama is a fool?
Harkening back to earlier times when the building of synagogues or Catholic churches also met with opposition, Obama said: “Time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, and stay true to our core values and emerge stronger for it. So it must be and will be today.”
Apparently Obama is under the belief that the Jews and Catholics attacked America. That is the only way I could possibly see him justifying his remark. This isn’t about prejudice, the type exhibited by The Klan, and I am certain that their beliefs and practices are what Obama is using as his rationale.
This is NOT about religious intolerance, it’s about Islam. Islam isn’t a religion, it is a sect. One that has sworn to dominate the world and kill ANY that refuse to accept it and it’s beliefs.
The last time I checked, Judaism and Christianity held NO views like that. Christians and Jews didn’t attack the Pentagon (9-11-2001), The World Trade Center (twice), Khobar Towers, Marine Barracks - Beirut, and a multitude of other attacks the world over.
No Mr. Obama, it’s not about religious intolerance or prejudice, it’s because Islam is the sworn enemy to all that are not Muslims. And let’s face the facts, Islam attacks and kills as many of it’s own as it does others, maybe more.
Islam is NOT a ‘Religion of Peace’, not in ANY way. Islam is a sect of murder and death, and it appears that the President of the United States is one of their biggest supporters.
So, I have to ask the Obama supporters that read here, how do you like him now?
That BHO came out in support of the Ground Zero Mosque at the iftar dinner at the White House yesterday is of great symbolic significance to the ummah. The timing wasn’t accidental, IMO. BHO is “standing with the Muslims,” as he so stated in one of his books.
First he re-wrote history by implying this is a Muslim nation, and now he’s declaring that we are denying Muslims the right to worship in this nation because we don’t like a mosque going up in the shadow of Ground Zero. Most of the Moslem population is in Brooklyn… a long way away from Ground Zero. There is no practical reason to build this mosque at this location except to rub it in our faces! Just like the Flight 93 memorial in PA, a design that is clearly an tribute to the terrorists and not the heroes, this is a travesty to the survivors and families who must see these disrespectful shrines be put in place by our enemies. There can be no question who’s side MaObama and his sycophants are on now can there? I say send them all packing to Hell and let them take their sick shrines with them. Grrrrrrrr….
Did he say anything about the Gay Bar For Muslims that Greg Gutfeld wants to put next to the Mosque?

Nothing new here SSDD. FAUX POTUS is the same now as he was in 2008 before he was FAUX POTUS. The evidence was there for all to read and still many of the dim-wits in this nation ignored that evidence. Tis said people get the government they deserve. Basti, I have, like you, watched all the evidence put out there for all to read during the election… but I think you have hit on the problem… many of the voters registered by ACORN who voted were either too stupid to read (illiterate), clinging to their “entitlement checks” while we were thumping on our Bibles and clinging to our guns, or DEAD. Then the RNC throws the election to MaObama by putting McPain on the ballot! If redemption for our past sins doesn’t begin on Nov 2nd and continue on for the rest of our lives, I think I’ll look to leaving this once great country of ours.

We must remember that the muslims have a long history of crapping in the faces of their enemies, like building a mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. For fifteen hundred years the stinking muslims kept the Jews from their ancestral worshiping place. Only the 1967 War let them have a place to worship at their cherished Western Wall. As we speak the muslims are erasing signs of Jewish history from the Temple Mount. The Mosque of Omar on the Temple Mount is an insult to every Jew and Christian and a mosque at Ground Zero will be a deep affront to all true Americans, too. The bastard Obama is an American-hating muslim. Plain and simple. Most traditional Christian activities are now taboo in the White House, but Ramadan and a mosque for muslim worship are present and fully supported. The sight of Obama removing his shoes and slapping his stupid forehead on the floor toward Mecca are something for every American to see. The muslims are our enemies as Obama is our enemy. What’s to keep them from building a nuclear bomb in this building… One big enough to take out the whole City of New York???? They would say no Infidels could search their holy place….as it would offend Allah. Therefore they could do whatever they wanted inside without anyone knowing…hiding arms and illegal Muslims that have been trained or are being trained right there to go out and kill Americans…then return to the safety of the Mosque.
If they do build it….we should march on the place each day they try to hold their services. I think if we made enough noise ( our freedom of speech ) they would soon abandon the place for somewhere quieter and safer.
Barack Obama has chosen sides and once again he stands against the American people. Now he is trying to claim that he wasn’t speaking about this particular mosque, but was speaking in general terms. But he specifically mentioned lower Manattan in his remarks, he is now lying his ass off because he knows he really stepped in it this time. You are right about the “Muslims crapping in the face of their enemies”.
That is why this Ground Zero Mosque is being called by the Muslims the “Cordoba Initiative” after The Great Mosque of Cordoba, Spain. The Muslims built the Great Mosque of Cordoba, beginning 784-786 after they had slaughtered and conquered the Christians of that region. They built that “Great Mosque” on top of a christian church, even using some of the church ruins in its construction.
Throughout Islam’s history, whenever a region was conquered, one of the first signs of consolidation was and is the erection of a mosque atop the sacred sites of the vanquished. Hence, “The Cordoba Iniative”, symbolic of their conquest and the victory over the Christians at Cordoba Spain.
I believe that Michelle Obama’s vacation in Spain was our CICs endorsement of the “Cordoba Iniative”, especially since she met with all those Muslim leaders and financiers while she was there. A Muslim Ground Zero Mosque, the Cordoba Iniative, is not simply about religious freedom. Rather it is a statement about the Muslim conquest of the Western World. They want their Mosque atop the ruins of what many Americans consider a sacred site after 9-11. It is their history and custom to have it so.

The reason you can’t find anyone who voted for MaObama is probably because you hang with a better crowd. (Evidenced by the fact you are commenting on Fred’s blog and he takes the garbage out on a regular basis, thank God!). If you really want to meet one, start hanging out in sewers, crawl spaces ponds (especially at the bottom of the pond), gay bars, etc and you will probably meet a few. But be warned, make sure you take a hot shower asap, or you will feel pretty dirty! LOL!!!!
