None of the Above, some explanation and opinion

I want to make something crystal clear to any and ALL that read here.

A while back I had a blog roll called None of the Above. It was mine, I dreamed it up, I owned it, I supported it and I advertised it, and all things considered, I still believe it to be a very good idea.

None of the Above was an advocacy blog roll, it advocated a write-in campaign for a truly Conservative candidate for the office of President of the USA.

Some people keep coming at me saying “I am just not going to vote, and I got the idea from YOU, None of the Above, your idea is what I am sticking with”…

NOWHERE did I advocate NOT voting, NOWHERE!! What I did advocate was supporting a Conservative candidate for POTUS, something we DO NOT have, and my idea failed miserably.

It failed because there were too many negative people that had NO problem with telling me everything that was wrong with the idea and very few coming forward that actually had the conviction to TRY and make it work, as opposed to those that immediately threw the idea under the bus as impossible to make happen.

At this late date I am afraid that a write-in candidate would have NO chance, at the time this was proposed it may have even then not had much of a chance, but it was more of a possibility a few months ago than it is now, but again I say, None of the Above was NOT about sitting on your apathetic ass and NOT voting, it was about standing up to the BIG guys, the RNC and the DNC and telling them to kiss your Conservative ass.

OK, so I was wrong, there weren’t enough folks willing to do that.

I will say this, and I do NOT bite my words in doing so, I AM supporting John McCain, not for McCain himself, personally I feel he’s a sad old Washington insider that has no clear picture of exactly WHERE his own politics lie, but for me it’s more about supporting the real future of America, the Sarah Palin’s of this world, and the great things I feel that people like her, and others like Bobby Jindal, Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo and so many other REAL Conservatives can bring to this nation.

I am supporting John McCain because I firmly believe that Barack Obama will bring about the total Islamification of America, because I believe Obama is a LIAR, a Socialist and a secret BROTHER of the Islamic radicals that want to control or destroy this nation. It’s that simple.

And again I say, if YOU don’t get involved in this fight, if YOU don’t vote, then keep your mouth shut, YOU have given up ANY right you have to complain about this nation or the way it is run, no matter who gets to the White House! I do NOT, and did NOT accuse anyone of being un-American or un-Patriotic because they don’t think like I do or vote like I do, I simply tell them, if you don’t vote, shut the hell up and go sit in the corner, you’re getting exactly what you deserve!

And anyone that doesn’t like that, click the back button, or the X, and leave, it can’t be said ANY more plain or made any more easy to understand! I will NOT be lied about, not by ANYONE.

I will always stand beside my words, if I said it, I meant it, but I will fight ANYONE that tells lies regarding what I say or tries to twist MY words to justify their skewed view of life!

Well I had that blogroll up on my site, I understood the premise behind it, and I hoped we as a nation would end up with better than McCain representing us.

McCain divided conservatives and Republicans, McCain is NOT the ideal candidate in my opinion BUT he is WAY better than the alternative. The worse part of this whole thing is, its the same way I felt about GWB in 2004.

The difference between then and now is:
The opponent of McCain is even further left than Kerry (or Gore for that matter)

I will concede this much to your bud Ranando, if Hillary Clinton was the DNC choice for Pres and we had McCain. I would be fine with None of the Above or voting for Hillary outright. BUT, we have to contend with Barrack Hussein Obama as a possible leader of the free world and that SCARES the hell out of me. Not for the reason of Islamic beliefs or sharia law… But for the SCOTUS appointment that Hussein Obama would make, and if the RIGHT doesn’t have the numbers in Congress to block it, we will be screwed for MANY years to come.

Rob, excellent analysis… Some folks just can’t see it that way… They have to tell lies, make up things that I am supposed to have said and so forth…

If that’s “the biggest supporter” I have, I’m not losing a damned thing…

But I still have to say, None of the Above was NOT about NOT voting, it was about writing in, and NOT accepting the status quo being forced down our throats by the RNC and DNC…

And it didn’t mean write in Mickey Mouse, it was viable, and doable, albeit remotely, it was a doable option…

I suppose the 1st thing that has to happen is this, we have to make a write in a REAL option on the ballots in ALL 50 states…

Getting it on all 50 ballots would help, but having the numbers to make it a statement requires a lot of time and effort WAY before the primaries.
It also means doing more during the primaries so we aren’t stuck with this type of choice again.

I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t do all I could to promote Hunter, or Thompson or Tancredo.. Frankly I didn’t think they had a shot in hell so I didn’t put fourth much effort other than a blog post or banner. Perhaps that’s where the real blame belongs, On US. Ok lesson learned.
2.5 years from now lets make a promise to NOT allow a lesser of two evils. We all dropped the ball unless you went door to door, planted signs, talked to folks at the supermarkets and attended fundraisers. IF you did all that then blame falls on those that didn’t and I would be in that group.
Time to move on, lets elect someone with at least some measure of experience, and moral values. Obama by his “associations” alone should be enough to get even the most jaded Conservatives to vote Mccain/Palin.

Even if we started working on the 2012 election today, and a None of the Above type thing, there would be some dumb bastard that said we were advocating don’t vote… You KNOW there would be… And I know what the SOB looks like too…

Robert, I agree with you on doing a write in if Hillary was the candidate and McCain didn’t pick Palin. Like I mentioned in the other post, I believe the Palin’s, Jindal’s, and Hunters are the future of our nation and we need to get them into high positions. Just think; it might be a Palin/Jindal ticket in 2012.

Back to Hillary. In policy she isn’t that much different than Obama. Where the difference is, I believe, is that Hillary does love this nation where Obama just wants to use it to further his goals. Although her policies and beliefs may be wrong, she does want what’s best for America, even if she’s going about it wrong.

You write about changing the staid old politicians, and supporting those those are actually Conservative. I know for a fact that politics also begin at home. I am a MASSIVE supporter of Tom McClintock, running for the 4th District in Fornicalia, against Demorat Charlie Brown. You might be interested in my upcoming post about precisely these issues. We have to begin at home, corral our TRUE Conservative base and let those locally know we’ll either properly support them or shoot them down if they don’t fit. McClintock is THE penultimate Conservative and I’ve supported him with CASH, TIME and walking precincts. I’ve put my money and my time where my mouth is with Mr. McClintock because I firmly believe he’d not only make a great GOVERNOR but, in time, a great PRESIDENT.

That’s what I’M doing to make a REAL change. And you’re precisely correct: you sit this one out, people, and you’re 1. Stupid and 2. Abandon ANY license to complain or express ANY opinion if you don’t care for the results.

    Well said Fred. Well said.

If, and this is a big IF, but IF we can get Palin and Jindal in 2012 there may be NO need for None of the Above…

But here’s my one big bitch, IF the American people continue to be as goddamn STUPID as they have been lately, and I include BOTH Dems and Repubs in this, but IF they continue to be so damned stupid as to accept John McCain of Barack Obama as the best we have to offer, then it WILL be time for a true 3rd party to emerge…

I don’t mean some lame-assed weak sister like the Libertarians, the moonbats of the Greenies and Ralph ‘I really DO look like a corpse’ Nader, I mean a REAL, viable and competitive CONSERVATIVE Party…

If the Repubs don’t go back to the level of conservatism we must have to keep this nation great, if they keep on putting up doddering old Washington insiders like McCain, I’ll tell all of you right now, come 2012 I won’t support the Repubs on a bet…

But I will be working my ass off for a party of REAL Conservatives…

Not that hard to do here where I live though, I have Sam Johnson as a Representative and Cornyn and Hutchison as Senators… Cornyn is awesome and VERY Conservative, KBH was once upon a time but I am thinking she wants out in 2012, she wants to come home and run for Governor, and she has become a serious supporter of the goddamned ILLEGAL INVADERS! Guess who TexasFred won’t be supporting??

But we will have someone fill the place Hutchison leaves behind, and Cornyn will be our Senior Senator, and a better man you will not find…

I hope you folks that DO have Dems for Senators and Congresscritters will change that, otherwise America is screwed…

So true, all of the above. We need to start working on this now if we are going to have a snowballs chance in hell of breaking the current political monopoly.

Some time ago, I started a forum called “The Founders Party.” Perhaps the time has come to revive the idea?

Also, there is a new website called gunbanobama, check it out.

    Fred,

In January I was for noneoftheabove, knowing full well that sitting out the election was not an option. I would have preferred a conservative but McCain was the final choice and I certainly wouldn’t pick either Obama or Hillary over him.

Sarah Palin has given me some optimism that a McCain presidency might be more conservative than it would have been with almost any of the other vp choices.

Voting is a civic obligation and if you don’t bring something to the table, don’t complain about the food.
