Whereas, by requirement of the United States Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, no one can be sworn into office as president of the United States without being a natural born citizen;
Whereas, there is sufficient controversy within the citizenry of the United States as to whether presidential election winner Barack Obama was actually born in Hawaii as he claims;
Whereas, Barack Obama has refused repeated calls to release publicly his entire Hawaiian birth certificate, which would include the actual hospital that performed the delivery;
Whereas, lawsuits filed in several states seeking only proof of the basic minimal standard of eligibility have been rebuffed;
Whereas, Hawaii at the time of Obama’s birth allowed births that took place in foreign countries to be registered in Hawaii;
Whereas, concerns that our government is not taking this constitutional question seriously will result in diminished confidence in our system of free and fair elections;
We, the undersigned, assert our rights as citizens of the United States in demanding that the constitutional eligibility requirement be taken seriously and that any and all controlling legal authorities in this matter examine the complete birth certificate of Barack Obama, including the actual city and hospital of birth, and make that document available to the American people for inspection.

You know if this actually “dethroned” Obama can you imagine the cries of the libtards?? Oh man it would be epic.
1. If you were a natural born American citizen and had it within your means to quiet all the lawsuits and questions with proof, would you do it?
2. If you were a natural born American citizen, would you spend thousands of dollars to fight the legal cases against you, or would you simply answer the legitimate question of whether you meet the constitutional requirements for office?
3. If you were a natural born American citizen, would you forge a document called a “Certification of Live Birth” and tell the public it was a real “birth certificate”?

I asked the question on another blog as to why doesn’t he just show the passport he used to travel abroad when he was a college student. The only way to get a US Passport is to present a valid Birth Certificate. I then found out that while in college, he had an Indonesian Passport. If he was an American Citizen, why would he use an Indonesian Passport to travel abroad?

I think the SCOTUS will “discuss” in conference and dismiss it. It infuriates me that they wont simply demand that he provide the LEGALLY required documents. HOW SIMPLE IS It?? WHY NOT? You can bet your paycheck that if it were an old white Republican, everything including the first born child would be required were there any question.
I want what is right and that is legal PROOF. If he’s got proof then we can all move on and I wont say another word about it.
I’m sick of how Obama can get away with what ever he wants and the laws don’t apply to him. GAHHHHHH!!! Can you tell this one makes me angry?
Having lunch with a couple of friends on Tuesday and let me preface this with the fact that they are educated, conservative Republicans- I put the question to them:
“Hypothetically- if it were PROVEN that Obama does NOT meet the legal requirements to be POTUS…. What would you want to happen?”
The answers made me want to throw up my lunch. Both people said, “we’d just have to let it go…” “we’d have to ignore the law and make an exception or just change the law…” “It would turn the country upside down and it wouldn’t be worth it…” and this gem… “the founding fathers would have let it go because it would be better than all the people who would die if the country rioted..”
Have we forgotten how many people died to GET THAT DOCUMENT??
AM I LIVING ON ANOTHER PLANET?? Is one part of the constitution less important than another?? Is it ok to ignore or change one paragraph because its easier?? When do we draw the line? If one paragraph should go, then why not another? Why do we need that pesky document anyway??
We are fast approaching the end of this great country my friends. Fast.

. . .how long do you suppose it may be before others decide to “pick and choose” which laws THEY wish to obey as well?

Sigh. I signed it. Not because I think it will do any good but because I think it is important to keep the heat on and make people realize that not everyone is a kool-aid drinker.
That said … AlexusF, Robert, others … the answer to the question of what would happen if Obama was really proven to not qualify for the office is quite simple, clear-cut, and … not something I would look forward to.
I don’t think it makes any difference whether it happened before or after he was sworn in, although I’m not positive about that. But certainly after January 20 what happens is: Joe “open mouth to change feet” Biden becomes President. Hell, he may even have signed the petition under a pseudonym

We all know a lot about Joe Biden and his record. Hard not to since the man has been in the Senate for something like 36 years. There are few such well-known people whose views and philosophies are more antithetical to mine than Biden’s. And he’s not some wishy washy populist. He is dead set in his beliefs and ideologies by now. He is known as, and proud to wear the mantle of “liberal internationalist”. He is … well, in addition to itemizing his well-documented flat-out lies, I could spend an hour describing Biden’s politics, but suffice to say that I don’t think Obama ever flanked him to the left.
Don’t get me wrong. I think Obama is a disaster for America. I tried hard to help keep him out of the White House. But the election is over and the Democrats won and even if we got rid of Obama we don’t get another crack at electing someone else. We get Biden. I fear that Obama may be as bad as Biden would be … although it would be hard to be much worse. At least Obama, being younger, is, perhaps, not as set in his ways or as committed to his ideologies as Biden is. With him there is at least a chance that he will be “less terrible” than Biden. (Although I think Obama is really just a puppet anyway, so it probably makes no difference.) And if I sound like I’m defending him or even that I think he might be “ok” … I’m not. All I’m saying is that even if we were successful in tossing him … I don’t know that we’d be in any better position than we are now. Just my two cents. Petition was still worth signing.
