YORBA LINDA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in Southern California have ordered hundreds of people to evacuate their homes as a storm threatens to set off mudslides on hillsides stripped by wildfires.
Brea police Lt. Jim Tibbetts says hundreds of homes in the Orange County suburb of Yorba Linda were placed under a mandatory evacuation order Monday morning.
Tibbetts said he didn’t know when residents might be allowed to return.
A wildfire last month stripped vegetation from hillsides in the area and destroyed more than 100 homes.
The storm spread heavy rain across the region Monday morning. It also produced heavy snow at higher elevations and traffic was snarled in mountain passes.

I have several blogging buddies and friends in SoCal, Rob, Gawfer, Doug, Jenn, several others, anyone I missed, it’s not intentional, just making a quick post to let you folks know, we are hoping for the best, for ALL of you. Yeah, you too Ranando, we may disagree but I would still hate to see anything happen to you man
Earthquakes, fires, mudslides and more than your share of ILLEGAL invaders, double prices on everything, I know you love your state but damn! It must be love, I can’t fathom any other reason, it must be love!
Stay safe folks, we wish nothing but the best to you!
I just hope that those folks are all safe and sound. Possessions can be replaced. What would we do without the Senatah..?
Senator Blutarski is in a DRY area…
It wasn’t so much the mudslides but the tree’s coming down. It rained so hard I contemplated building and ark.
