Lee is my hero and more is they pity that we don’t have men like him today. Men who can do the ‘right thing’ and stand the gaff for doing so.

Whenever you watch anything concerning the Civil War on the History Channel or read books and articles of the war, the Generals of the South are always described as God fearing men of honor and integrity. Northern Generals are usually described as drunkards and womanizers. The History channel just did a thing on Sex and the Civil War. It was mostly about the Northern soldiers and whores. At one time over 40% of Northern soldiers had VD. Three Generals shared one woman between them.

Robert E. Lee was a man of honor and integrity who pressured Jefferson Davis to abolish slavery but Davis dragged his feet on the matter.

Even us Yankees(I am descended from 16 Union Soldiers) know that Robert E. Lee was the greatest general in American HIstory in both actions and honor.

JD3 and I are both of serious Southern Heritage.

Our fraternal grandfather came from Canada, he was the only fly in the ointment. The rest of our family was from Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

As the *Boys* in ‘Bama still say, “Loud and Proud!”

    Hi Fred,

This is also my birthday and the same date we buried my dear departed mother. It amazes me how few calendars make mention of Robert E. Lee. When people ask me my b-day I alert them to this little know fact!

I am taking notice how the slobbering media fawned over it also just happening to be the fraudulent MLK day. Which they played up to sickening levels in my humble opinion.

This is the worst birthday since my mother died having to stomach this made for media jackanapes being sworn in as Commander & Chief of our precious military personnel. To add insult to injury the jerk just laughed off his inept performance at the swearing-in-ceremony!

Notice the military guys where not laughing! They must be really sick to their stomachs having to stand at attention for this charade!
