Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters

WASHINGTON (AP) - Attorney General Eric Holder described the United States Wednesday as a nation of cowards on matters of race, saying most Americans avoid discussing unresolved racial issues.

In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,” said Holder, nation’s first black attorney general.

Race issues continue to be a topic of political discussion, Holder said, but “we, as average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race.”

He urged people of all races to use Black History Month as a chance for frank talk about racial matters.

Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters

So, my buddy Bull from The Bull Speaks! fired back with this response, a letter he sent to Obama, used with The Bull’s express permission.

Mr. President,

Your AG, Eric Holder, said Wednesday the United States was “a nation of cowards” on matters of race. I had to stop and read the entire speech before writing to you. I was desperate to find some small mitigating item in there that would make such a statement alright. I failed to find any.

In my neighborhood there are weekly BBQs where the folks gather & eat and discuss life in general. I really had to think about it to come up with numbers as most of us “little folk” don’t go about our days fretting over demographics. I’d estimate that slightly less than a third are Black. A couple are Asian, and upon occasion a Hispanic family shows up. A pretty fair cross section of our area race-wise. Imagine our horror in finding out that we are all “cowards”. We all thought that we were just “Americans”.

I am appalled that the AG, and your Administration, have now decided that it is your business who we American citizens socialize with on weekends. Our schools are integrated, we have Fair Housing laws in place against steering in real estate sales, our work places are integrated, and now you deem it necessary to have the AG decide who we spend our free time with as well? Sir, who decides how many people of which race I have over for dinner on Saturdays?

Please advise to the new “quota” - or - tell the AG to either issue an apology or get a new job.

Sincerely,
Bull Jones

This needs NO commentary from me other than to say, Bull was a hell of a lot nicer than I would have been, kick ass and take names Bull!

Bull’s a lot nicer than I would have been, too. I missed Obama while he was in Mesa. I’m gonna have to find a different spot next time, with a better angle of - uhm, view. Yeah, angle of view.

Concise note to Holder: FUCK you.

Don’t hold back, BZ - bottling up your feelings will make you a bitter old man. Let it out - let us know how you REALLY feel.

I’ve been trying to get Fred to open up more - maybe you two can work together?

Fred, us whities are going to just have to suck it up and accept the fact that we are, in total, a bunch of racists–to Obama and his whole crew. I wonder what I’ll have to tell my good friend Rodney Barnes, who happens to be black, that from now on we will discuss blackness regularly. It’s funny, in all the years I have know him, the color of our skins has never even been thought about. Rodney’s wife, a whitie, is a wonderful, talented person. Mr. Holder is one of those elitiist blacks, like Obama. BZ has it right. FUCK HIM!

First of all…this jerkoff makes it sound like us white people don’t want to let the poor little black folk into our weekend social group. Well how about a bunch of us white people start hanging out at the local hip hop club. I’m sure we will be welcomed with open arms. It’s a two way street asshole. But if whites don’t have black friends, then we are cowards and racists. But if blacks don’t have white friends it must be because he was shunned by us white people who are cowards and racists.

    Also, I love this comment:
we, as average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race.” He urged people of all races to use Black History Month as a chance for frank talk about racial matters.

Yeah, and the first fricken moment I am being “frank” about the relationship of whites and blacks and it is something that is the slightest bit of disagreeable to a black person, I am instantly labelled a racist. I am willing to bet his idea of “frank” discussions is black people stating how racist white people are and us white people agreeing with it and begging for forgiveness for slavery, etc, and what else can we do to make it up to you?

These assholes want it both ways. You can not demand equal treatment in every aspect of life, but still want special treatment just because of your skin color. They want to be treated like a white person, but yeah, lets still maintain affirmative action and all that other bullshit special treatment you get if you are black. And if I so much as even try to speak out and rationalize the idiocy of this situation, I am a racist.
When a black person encounters difficulty and heartache, it must be because of the racist white people keeping him down. But when a white person encounters the same damn problems, it’s called LIFE.

    What BZ said.

When I read that, my chin had to be scraped off the floor. How dare he! We CAN’T say anything about race. If we do, we’re racist. We just don’t understand….we just aren’t PC. Pfft! Horse manure.

    Again….what BZ said.

…What I am saying however is perhaps Attorney General Eric Holder, Rev Al Sharpton and the rest would like to rethink their position of a ‘National Victimhood’ based on race, and explain why Blacks and African Americans are receiving roughly 16% more benefits per year than anyone else simply because of their ethnicity.

Fred, you know I usually try and keep my comments “polite”, in case someone’s white-haired old granny happens to read this.
    Not this time.
Did someone piss in this guy’s oatmeal in the morning, or did he slug down a bottle of vinegar to bitter himself up?
    Mr. Holder:
How dare you call us a nation of cowards?
You wouldn’t recognize bravery and personal character if it bit you in the ass!
I judge people by who they are, not the color of their skin.

A decent person is just that.
And a pinhead is a pinhead, regardless of if your skin is black, white, yellow or green with blue stripes.

Carl, this is one place you don’t have to hold back…

I am an old, grey haired grandpa and I will NOT hold back, someone has gotta keep speaking the truth, in ALL of it’s harsh reality, and you can bet your ass, until I am too broke to blog here, I WILL be doing it every day…

And IF I get too broke to blog on this wonderful format, I’ll move to a cheap-assed Blogger page and give em hell from there…

Never give up, never surrender!! And anyone that doesn’t like what I write or the comments that the great readers like you make, can kiss ALL of out asses…

Holder unwittingly (as he is a half-wit) co-opted the title of an essay written by Jeffrey Snyder in 1993 called “A Nation of Cowards.” Snyder’s essay makes a strong case for firearms ownership from personal, moral and societal perspectives.

    “A Nation of Cowards”
    http://teapot.usask.ca/cdn-firearms/Snyder/cowards.html
One of the best excerpts that speaks loudly to all of us:
“It is impossible to address the problem of rampant crime without talking about the moral responsibility of the intended victim. Crime is rampant because the law-abiding, each of us, condone it, excuse it, permit it, submit to it. We permit and encourage it because we do not fight back, immediately, then and there, where it happens. Crime is not rampant because we do not have enough prisons, because judges and prosecutors are too soft, because the police are hamstrung with absurd technicalities. The defect is there, in our character. We are a nation of cowards and shirkers. ”

So why didn’t Holder, the top cop, use this essay as a basis for calling us a nation of cowards? That would be real leadership and would promote the use of firearms as a means of self defense. Or did Holder, as part of the evil and intelligent gang (the worst combination) in D.C., spit on Snyder’s essay with his choice of words?

Excellent questions regarding Holder… He is a recycled asshat and was useless when he was an assistant, he’s MORE useless now as his goal is guns, not helping them but taking them, from those that legally own and use them..

    He is a cretin!
