U.S. Commander: Iran Supplying Taliban
September 21st, 2007 . by TexasFredKABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - A top American commander on Friday accused Iran of supplying powerful roadside bombs to militants in Afghanistan and said the U.S. would “act decisively” if the cross-border flow continues.
Heavy battles in the violence-plagued south, meanwhile, killed 75 Taliban and at least six civilians, and a suicide car bomb in the capital killed a French soldier and an Afghan bystander.
Adm. William Fallon, the head of U.S. Central Command, said Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is supplying roadside bomb parts for the type of sophisticated and deadly bombs found in Iraq known as explosively formed penetrators.
“The Iranians are clearly supplying some amount of lethal aid,” Fallon told The Associated Press during a trip to Afghanistan. “There is no doubt … that agents from Iran are involved in aiding the insurgency.”

OK, here’s what I’m wondering, didn’t Bush say, after 9-11, that we were going seek out and destroy ANYONE with ties to terror, regardless of who they were or where they were?? Isn’t that a fair assessment of Mr. Bush’s words??
Then let me ask this, IF we know for a certain fact that Iran is supplying ‘lethal aid’ to the insurgents in Iraq, IF we have indisputable and irrefutable PROOF that this a fact, a beyond a shadow of a doubt fact, then WHY the hell isn’t Tehran a smoking pile of rubble??
Why is this asshat president OF Iran, Ahmadinejad, being allowed to come to the United States in the 1st place and WHY is he being allowed to speak at Columbia University?? That is, to my way of thinking, akin to allowing Hitler to come over for a visit in 1939, and very close to being an act of treason…
Here’s what I think is the reasoning, Bush got into this war thing and didn’t have a clue to what he was doing, and he ran his mouth, he swaggered, he DARED the insurgents to bring it on, and they did, and that blew Bush’s mind, he didn’t think anyone would stand up to the military might of the USA, but they did and Bush wasn’t prepared for that challenge, nor was he prepared for the reaction of the American people when he tried to take us into a war we didn’t need to fight and then tried to do it on the cheap, thus not getting the job done and leaving our troops caught in the middle of a civil war that could drag on for only God knows how long, and this has left Bush without a clue as to which way to turn or what course of action to pursue…
We can’t allow Iran and Ahmadinejad to bully the USA, we can’t allow ANY nation to bully the USA, but it’s happening every day under the stewardship of the Bush administration, we had the Taliban on the run and all but wiped out until Bush lost interest in Afghanistan and took us to Iraq, Iraq has turned into something Bush could never have imagined and it is bleeding this nation dry financially as al-Maliki keeps crying for more time as he continues to do very little other than consume our tax dollars and resources, and now we have Iran to deal with and we don’t have the guts to tell Ahmadinejad to kiss our ass and keep OUT of this nation?? And we don’t have the whereto that allows us to keep him from uttering so much as one word in our society?? A SWORN enemy of this nation, an ENEMY that has sworn to wipe Israel off the map?? And we can’t even stop the little smirking asshat from using OUR freedoms to promote HIS agenda??
We are about to be made the laughingstock of the Arab and Muslim world, we are about to be viewed as a toothless tiger, one that doesn’t have the fortitude or ability to defend itself, thank you Mr. Bush, you are well on your way to taking this nation into a full blown One World Government Globalism, and by not taking action to stop Ahmadinejad you have shown your true self and are about to open this nation up to serious and violent terrorist attacks from an enemy that is convinced that we can be taken with just a little effort…

concur. Many of us thought that we were invading the wrong country when we went in to Iraq..probably would have been better off to have made a deal with Saddam and went into Iran instead..that is where most of the problems have originated from the time they took over the Embassy until now. Iran has been at war with the USA for nearly three decades..the American public is just too gotdam blind to understand that.
Bush continues to confound me. But I would STILL pick President Bush over ANY Demorat extant. Yes, I am cognizant of the fact that this is another equation that makes no sense, along with his so-called stance on immigration. But as I wrote earlier this week, more and more the opposite sides of the aisle are becoming one and the same. And more and more it shall be incumbent upon THE PEOPLE — as it should be — to stand up and demand common sense.
Be clear and understand: the forces rallying against us, you and me, Texas Fred, are very strong. VERY strong. We must be strident, resolute, and even STRONGER.
BZ
Fred,
You couldn’t have been more on point than you have with this article.
I know the Bush-bots must be on their knees weeping at your words but so what…you and Gunz and BZ are absolutely correct. Why don’t our leaders have either the common sense or cahones to do the job they were elected to do?
Dang we are going right down the toilet and Pelosi and Reid are holding the handle in the flush mode….sigh.
It takes alot to take the title of Worst President ever from Jimmy Carter and I’m afraid Bush has done it.
Bush said it was HARD WORK, well I guess his HARD WORK has paid off.
Such a shame, he could have been the Best Ever, what a fool.
BZ,
I’ve got to disagree with you on this one. I would vote for a monkey before I will ever vote for a Bush again.
But…But…. There are moderate Muslims in Iran, how can we attack them…..Sarcasm
If I was running a country that opposed the USA way, I would be licking my chops right now, Bush has been caught with his pants down AGAIN, he talks too much, he says too little and he hasn’t got the balls too do what needs to be done. A Perfect President, for SOME OTHER COUNTRY.. Not this one.
Sept. 20, 2001, address to Congress:
“This war will not be like the war against Iraq a decade ago, with a decisive liberation of territory and a swift conclusion.
Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen.
And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism.
Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.
From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.”
Jimmy K, you are Da Man!!
Bush’s OWN words come back to haunt him, and show once again what a total idiot the man is, and how his running off at the mouth has only served to complicate and exacerbate this situation even more…
I learned, many years ago, if you’re going to beat the crap out of an enemy you don’t tell him, “OK tomorrow at lunch I’m dragging your ass out behind the gym and I’m gonna stomp your ass into a mud puddle…”, you NEVER tell em you’re going to do it, you DO IT and then tell the survivors that you were the one and if you hear so much as on ‘peep’ out of em you’ll take them out too…
But Bush won’t do that, he still thinks he’s a school yard bully and his swagger is all he needs…
Wrong… This is a real fight George, and people have to die, a lot of people, preferably ALL Muslims…
The only way al-Maliki is going to get control of Iraq is through brutality. That’s how Saddam controlled Iraq. Can you think of any Arab country that isn’t controlled through brutality?
al-Maliki is being forced to run Iraq by American standards and that doesn’t work in the Middle East. Those people only respect strength and brutality; they detest political correctness and “playing nice”. Their religion controls every aspect of their lives and it’s a religion of brutality. The sooner we learn that, the better off we’ll be.
Back off from Iraqi politics and let them do what they need to in order to get control of their country. Provide necessary muscle when called upon but look the other way when things don’t go by American standards.

It was once said that regional stability in the Middle East was impossible as long as Saddam Hussein was in power in Iraq. For me, given events, this was manifestly true. Faced with the situation we acted and acted d…
