Hundreds of Thousands Flee Mexico Floods

November 2nd, 2007 . by TexasFred

VILLAHERMOSA, Mexico (AP) - Hundreds of thousands of Mexicans fled a flooded region of the Gulf coast Friday, jumping from rooftops into rescue helicopters, scrambling into boats or swimming out through murky brown water.

President Felipe Calderon called the flooding in Tabasco state one of Mexico’s worst recent natural disasters, and pledged to rebuild.

A week of heavy rains caused rivers to overflow, drowning at least 80 percent of the oil-rich state. Much of the state capital, Villahermosa, looked like New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, with water reaching to second-story rooftops and desperate people awaiting rescue.

At least one death was reported and nearly all services, including drinking water and public transportation, were shut down. The flood affected more than 900,000 people in the state of 2 million - their homes flooded, damaged or cut off by high water.

Hundreds of Thousands Flee Mexico Floods

I wonder how many MILLIONS in relief Bush is going to send?? I sincerely hope it’s more than enough to keep the 900K or so that were affected by the Mexican flood IN Mexico, Lord knows we don’t need the back wash, and I don’t mean that in a cruel way, no more than I do ANY post regarding wetbacks, uh, yeah, that pun was definitely intended…

I wish all the best to the people of Tabasco, the McIlhenny Company of Avery Island, LA needs the tabasco peppers after all, this could be a REAL catastrophe, I have to run to Wal-Mart and stock up on Tabasco Sauce and Chipotle Tabasco too, before the prices go up, inflation is a real threat here, price gouging and that evil Wal-Mart being what they are, I need to protect MY supply of Tabasco Sauce and all…

I’ll say one thing regarding this flooding in Mexico, in ALL seriousness, I’d take bets that the Mexican people will rebuild their damaged areas, have everything back in business and running as good, if not better than it ever did, and they won’t waste too much time making it happen either, all the while, the CHOCOLATES in New Orleans will still be sitting on their CHOCOLATE asses waiting for someone to come and do it FOR them…

LOL, good assessment, I for one liken it to a giant toilet flush with crap going everywhere, and you’re right; the beaners will get it back up and running, with plumbers crack and all.

I see two bad things to come out of this. First, it will give millions more Mexicans an excuse to cross our border.

Second, I can actually see Bush sending them aid.

My friend, and custom Gun Builder Niel Stalking Bear will be building a “Tabasco Special” rifle, according to recent scuttlebutt anyways…

Guess what it is designed for… =))

Tabasco sauce IS made on Avery Island, and the seed peppers are grown there, but the majority of peppers used are grown in Central and South America…

And to the ‘lady’ that wanted to come in here and call names over a ‘tongue and cheek’ story, stick it up your ass, you don’t come into MY blog calling names and cursing at me and my readers, not on your 1st shot out…
