Hate Crimes Rose 8 Percent in 2006
November 19th, 2007 . by TexasFredWASHINGTON (AP) - Hate crime incidents in the United States rose last year by nearly 8 percent, the FBI reported Monday, as racial prejudice continued to account for more than half the reported instances.
Police across the nation reported 7,722 criminal incidents in 2006 targeting victims or property as a result of bias against a particular race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin or physical or mental disability. That was up 7.8 percent from the 7,163 incidents reported in 2005.
Although the noose incidents and beatings among students at Jena, La., high school occurred in the last half of 2006, they were not included in the report. Only 12,600 of the nation’s more than 17,000 local, county, state and federal police agencies participated in the hate crime reporting program in 2006 and neither Jena nor LaSalle Parish, in which the town is located, were among the agencies reporting.
Nevertheless, the Jena incidents, and a rash of subsequent noose incidents around the country, have spawned civil rights protests in Louisiana and last week at Justice Department headquarters here. The department said it investigated the incident but decided not to prosecute because the federal government does not typically bring hate crime charges against juveniles.

Hanging a noose from a tree or a fence post isn’t a HATE crime, unless there happens to be a body attached TO that noose.
These overly politically correct asshats in the Justice Dept, the NAACP and the ACLU need to pull their heads OUT of their asses and learn the facts of life concerning racism and HATE CRIMES.
Yes, American prisons ARE populated with more Black and Mexican prisoners than Caucasian prisoners, there’s a damn good reason for that, it’s because Mexicans and Blacks commit more criminal acts than Caucasians do.
That’s NOT racism, it’s a fact, but most minorities in prison will claim that they are the victim, and it was some sort of HATE CRIME that motivated their behavior that got them arrested and jailed, unless it was all brought about simply because they are black or brown.
I can’t even remember the last time I heard of a bunch of WHITE trash thugs robbing some black folks or shooting them down in the street, but it’s a regular occurrence in some parts of Dallas to hear about the drive by shootings and innocent men, women, children, babies and even unborn babies being MURDERED, it just happens to be in black and hispanic neighborhoods, pretty much every time, just a coincidence I suppose but that IS a HATE CRIME.
Murder is a HATE CRIME, drive by shootings where innocent people die, that is a HATE CRIME, standing up and calling a person names, making open racial slurs, that might be a hate crime to some but in my opinion it’s more an act of blatant ignorance, no matter WHO is doing the name calling.
Race baiting is sheer ignorance, not a hate crime, and people like Je$$ie Jack$on and Al $harpton are race baiters, racists of the worse kind, but their speech is called progressive, not racist, and certainly not HATE speech, even if they DO blame everything that has ever happened to the black race on those that aren’t black.
Hate crimes is one of the most over used catch phrases in years, and again I ask, how in the hell did the display of a noose become a HATE CRIME??
There have been many people hanged, of ALL races and genders, that noose thing is one of the most lame excuses the entitlement crowd has ever come up with, most of these so-called HATE CRIMES are nothing more than CRIMES, plain and simple, just crime, and are being touted otherwise by race baiters in an attempt to keep the prejudices of this nation inflamed.

Hate is an emotion…how can anyone believe that we can ever control another’s emotions ?
It’s no wonder why hate crimes are up! With Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity and the like spewing out their hate talk pitting one class against another it was just a matter of time.
And Al $sharpton, Je$$ie Jack$on, Martin Luther King III and God only knows HOW many other race baiters, of ALL races…
Eliminating racially motivated hate crimes wouldn’t have much impact on violent crime.
There were three racially motivated murder cases during 2006. If we eliminated racially motivated murders, we could reduce the number of Americans murdered each year from 17,034 to 17,031 a year. That’s a 0.02 percent drop.
There were four racially motivated forcible rapes during 2006. If we eliminated racially motivated forcible rapes, we could reduce the number of forcible rapes a year from 92,455 to 92,451. That’s a 0.004 percent drop.
There were 607 racially motivated aggravated assaults during 2006. If we eliminated racially motivated aggravated assaults, we could reduce the number of racially motivated aggravated assaults per year from 855,088 to 854,481. That’s a 0.07 drop.
It would be more effective to enact laws to attach harsher sentences to interracial crimes, regardless of motivation. For example, 573 of the 3,709 whites murdered in 2006 were murdered by blacks, while 208 of the 3,304 blacks murdered during the same year were murdered by whites. Eliminating these interracial murders would have a significant statistical impact.
Adding the Jena Six beating to the list of aggravated assaults would increase the number of aggavated assults by one and would’t have any statistical impact. According to witnesses, the members of the Jena Six did use racial slurs during the attack, but the prosecution doesn’t think they singled out the victim merely because he was white. The Justice Department has pointed out that a successful prosecution of the three white students who hung the nooses would result in a “finding of deliquency” rather than a criminal conviction. Besides, Justice Department investigators and local authorities are on record as saying the believe the three students didn’t mean the nooses as a racial threat. The three students say they hung the nooses to poke fun at friends on the school rodeo team, a idea they say they got from the lynching scene in the move Lonesome Dove.
“Hate Crimes.” Yeah. Right.
