NEW YORK (AP) - Nine years of denouncing terrorism, of praying side-by-side with Jews and Christians, of insisting “I’m American, too.” None of it could stop a season of hate against Muslims that made for an especially fraught Sept. 11. Now, Muslims are asking why their efforts to be accepted in the United States have been so easily thwarted.
“We have nothing to apologize for, we have nothing to fear, we have nothing to be ashamed of, we have nothing that we’re guilty of - but we need to be out there and we need to express this,” said Imam Mohammed Ibn Faqih in a sermon at the Islamic Institute of Orange County in Anaheim, Calif., the day before the 9/11 anniversary.
There is no simple way for American Muslims to move forward.
Images of violence overseas in the name of Islam have come to define the faith for many non-Muslims at home. The U.S. remains at war in Afghanistan, and although America has formally declared an end to its combat operations in Iraq, U.S. troops there continue to fight alongside Iraqi forces.

As some have said in the comments section on this blog; Islam is as Islam does.
Where are all those peaceful, non-radical, all-American Muslims? Where are they? Why are they not standing, in one large and loud group, denouncing the EVIL that IS Islam? Why are they not denouncing the Quran, the Islamic version of the bible? And it’s passages that call for the DEATH of all that don’t submit to Islam?
They want us to believe that they are this *Religion of Peace*, but they are NOT.
Within the U.S., domestic terror has become a greater threat, while ignorance about what Islam teaches is widespread. More than half of respondents in a recent poll by the Pew Forum for Religion & Public Life said they knew little or nothing about the Muslim faith.
That’s it, simple ignorance. Ignorance on OUR part about what Islam teaches, about what Islam is, what it does and how it goes about it’s own brand of self promotion. Submit or DIE!
Muslims must think no one can read their filthy writings other than them. Once again I ask you, what part of religion OR peace do these passages from the Quran represent?

Nothing says peace and love to me like the one way rants and teachings of a goat loving pervert and pedophile that wants to kill any and all that don’t subscribe to his thinking.
In recent months, mosques in Tennessee, California, New York and elsewhere have been shot at and vandalized. Threatening messages were left at one mosque. A Florida pastor caused a global uproar with his ultimately unfulfilled threat to make a bonfire of Qurans on Sept. 11.
Many Jewish, Roman Catholic, mainline Protestant, evangelical, atheist and other groups have responded with an outpouring of support for Muslims, but suspicion remains high among many Americans.
I don’t know about YOU, but as for me, I don’t have a lot of use for ANY group, whether they be Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical, atheist and ANY other group that lets forth a bleeding heart outpouring of support for Muslims of ANY ilk! Personally, I think it speaks volumes for those groups and their less than 100% Americanism.
There is nothing in the American mindset that brought on an inherent hatred of Islam or of it’s practitioners. Most Americans were pretty much live and let live. As for me, I didn’t think about Islam one way or another until Sept. 11th, 2001.
On that day I learned everything I ever wanted to know about Islam and it’s followers.
At the same time, fatigue is setting in. They wonder: How many more times will they have to condemn violent extremism before non-Muslim Americans believe them?
Other than an occasional piece in the AP or some other similar left leaning media, I haven’t seen any instances of American Muslims coming out to condemn ANYTHING.
I am going to use the Roman Catholic Church as an example; the Catholic Church, world wide, and American Catholics in particular, do pretty much whatever the Pope in Rome tells them to do. Granted, it’s not the evil of Islam, but it’s still a religious hierarchy and a chain of command if you will. So it goes with Islam.
Some old muttering old goat lover with baby food stuck in his goatee tells Muslims to hate The Infidel and to KILL The Infidel and reminds them of the Black Eyed Virgins that await them for becoming Islamic martyrs.
Fatigue is setting in for American Muslims? How about the rest of America? We’re pretty damned tired of hearing the LIES of Islam and their supporters. We’re tired of hearing about this Religion of Peace as it continues to kill multitudes of non-believers, as well as a great many of their own.
We’re tired of hearing about American Muslims supporting Palestine and Hamas as they attempt to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth. We’re tired of Christians being attacked for their beliefs and American Muslims not saying so much as I’m sorry.
When the vast majority of American Muslims stand as one, when they defy the radicals of Islam and denounce their violence, when they take on those that make ALL Muslims look bad, maybe then non-Muslim Americans will begin to look at them in a different light.
Until then, nothing has changed…
An addendum: This was posted in comments on another thread by BobF and it was just too good to not use in this post.
I watched a special last night on the History Channel concerning the 9/11 hijackers. They emphasized that these hijackers were representative of only a small percentage of Muslims who believe in the type of radical Islam these hijackers did. Thing is, they didn’t give any numbers or percentage. Doing some researching, experts believe that 7% of Muslims believe in radical Islam. With approximately 1.57 billion Muslims in the world, that comes out to close to 109 million Muslims. One hundred nine million Muslims believe the same way the 9/11 hijackers do. That’s over one-third the population of the United States.
So, when you hear people say that only a small percentage of Muslims are radical, remember that small percentage equates to 109,000,000.
And if THAT doesn’t open a few eyes, nothing ever will. If only, ONLY 7% of Islam is radical, if ONLY 7% of ALL Islam wants to kill us, that’s ONLY a mere 109,000,000 radical Muslims.
I gotta get some more ammo… 
7% of the worlds muslims act out on what they believe(jihad). The other 93% are just waiting for the right opportunity. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the so-called moderate muslims to hold rallies against the radicals. It aint going to happen as all muslims have the same beliefs. Their means of achieving their final objective of a world wide caliphate just differ somewhat. Still are a lot of stupid shits in this country that have yet to realize Islam is our enemy. And it sure doesn’t help that we have a POTUS who is at a minimum a muslim sypathizer or could actually be a stooge for Islam at worst.

And if any muslim doesn’t like this. Well, it is their right to be uncomfortable here in the USA.
We allow this.
So, just move, go somewhere else where you will be liked by your own kind!

On fifteen separate occasions (at least) I have been attacked by members of this so-called “religion of peace.” All that was well before AQ was formed, and none were of the Saudi born extreme sect. That tells me that none are to be trusted. On the more positive side? They just crumple like everyone else does when taking a load of double ought buck…

Moslems ever see themselves as victims. Therefore, I refuse to sympathize with their woes about how frustrated they are. As I see it, their constant whining is yet another tactic for promoting Islam. And let’s remember that CAIR is the biggest whiner in all. I know what CAIR really is — a group desiring the Islamic States of America.
If Moslems are so damned nervous, they should go somewhere else — a Middle Eastern sandbox will make them more comfortable about their so-called faith.
