Obama’s Plan: Where Atlas Shrugged meets Children of the Corn

August 8th, 2009 . by TexasFred

Once in a while I find a post that is SO good, it just has to be re-posted, with full accreditation. This is one of those times. My buddy, U.S. Citizen from the blog Traction Control has this post up today, and it is just too good. Scary and accurate. Enjoy!

Obama’s Plan: Where Atlas Shrugged meets Children of the Corn

Today’s climate is like the convergence of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged and Stephen King’s Children of the Corn.

Rampant destruction of billions in wealth (Atlas Shrugged), while putting the gears in motion to kill anyone deemed “too far past puberty” (Children of the Corn) via the Health Care Insurance Denial Reform.

Here is the end game:

With one half the population newly dead (through Government mandated end-of-life management counseling), tax receipts would (temporarily) double through increased estate tax receipts and relief from Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid obligations.

Surviving youngsters would see – through inheritance, perhaps a 150% increase in their personal wealth.

Government kills Grandma and takes $4, and you get $3 today, instead of maybe $1 10 years from now.

What’s not to like?

Until the young ones realize they, too will be taxed out of that money and left without the wherewithal (or the mentors or the infrastructure) needed to defend, increase or maintain their new wealth.

Then?

Well, it’s Game over for the young ones.

After that? Someone will have to till the fields for the master’s harvest.

(The statistics cited above are pure ‘off-the-cuff’ conjecture. I will revise the numbers with any serious studies sent my way.)

Cliff Notes Summary: Keep.Government.Out.Of.Health.Care.

Hound your Congress-critters to vote: Hell No! to ObamaCare. and Hell No! to Socialism.

Just think (at today’s prices) how much ammo we could save!

A *Call in Conservative* Protest

July 1st, 2009 . by TexasFred

A *Call in Conservative* Protest

I found this over at
Conservative Libertarian Outpost, and I have got to tell you, Patrick is a good personal friend, but this post just lit me up!

Conservatives who love their country, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and human liberty have had enough. Word came last night that a massive protest is planned in order to send Washington a message.

On July 30, conservatives are ‘going Galt,’ named after Ayn Rand’s famous character John Galt from her novel Atlas Shrugged, and thus refuse to show up for work. They plan to ‘call in conservative.’

From the Eastside TeaParty blog:

On July 30th, Conservatives are “Going Galt”. On that date, we are asking Conservatives all across the nation to “Call in Conservative”. On July 30th, Conservatives will not work, we will not buy. Instead, we will spend time with our families and friends. We will show President Obama and Congress who REALLY drives this economy. For more information on “A Day Without Conservatives , contact Judson Phillips at [email protected]

The next quote is an EXACT copy of the email I just sent TO Judson Philips.

I wonder how many OUT OF WORK Conservatives are gonna not go in to, uh, wait.

Not go in to work?? The next day unemployment would be UP, a lot of businesses will be looking for new employees, this is a target rich environment. Folks are desperate for jobs.

I am not at all convinced that *calling in conservative* is a good thing, UNLESS, those that do, actually take to the streets in a concerted effort and massive PUBLIC protest.

If anyone thinks *calling in conservative* and then sitting on their fat asses at home is an effective protest, they need their heads examined.

OK, I am starting to seriously wonder if some TEA Party groups are getting too far out there in the WRONG direction.

Let me make this crystal clear, I want there to be NO misunderstanding; I am speaking for me on this post, NOT for the TEA Party group I belong to, this is NOT an official TEA Party post.

What I am, in MY opinion, is a concerned citizen asking a serious question. What the hell good is it going to do to miss work and stay at home? And what kind of so-called leadership would hatch such a lame-brained idea?

I am all for effective protest, but calling in to work, *Calling in Conservative*, and sitting at the house, or spending time with family and friends is NOT a protest. It a DAY OFF! It’s a day of LOST WAGES for many families that desperately need every penny they can lay hands on!

I ask ALL of you, honestly, do YOU think *Calling in Conservative* and sitting at home is an effective method of protest?

Personally, I think this is a LAME effort at best, nothing more than a *feel good* kind of thing, one of those ‘well, I did MY protest’ kind of things.

Look, if you’re going to protest, do it right, GET SOME ATTENTION!! Take it to the streets! Between now and July 30th you have plenty of time to organize. Get LOUD, get LARGE, get MEDIA coverage and by God, have a real PROTEST!

If you want to stay home and have a cozy little day with family and friends, OK, that’s great, do it, but don’t call it a PROTEST, unless that day with family and friends is spent in OPEN protest.

Sheesh, talk about sounding like a bunch of libber tree huggers. :?
