Rights group: Israel uses incendiary bombs in Gaza

JERUSALEM (AP) - Human Rights Watch said Sunday that Israel’s military has fired artillery shells with the incendiary agent white phosphorus into Gaza and a doctor there said the chemical was suspected in the case of 10 burn victims who had skin peeling off their faces and bodies.

Researchers in Israel from the rights group witnessed hours of artillery bombardments that sent trails of burning smoke indicating white phosphorus over the Jebaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza. But they could not confirm injuries on the ground because they have been barred from entering the territory.

The chief doctor at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza said he treated several victims there with serious burns that might have been caused by phosphorus. He said, however, that he did not have the resources or expertise to say with certainty what caused the injuries.

The substance can cause serious burns if it touches the skin and can spark fires on the ground, the rights group said in a written statement calling on Israel not to use it in crowded areas of Gaza.

Israel shells near UN school, killing at least 30

GAZA CITY, Gaza (AP) - Israeli mortar shells struck outside a U.N. school where hundreds of Palestinians had sought refuge on Tuesday, killing at least 30 people - many of them children whose parents wailed in grief at a hospital filled with dead and wounded.

The Israeli army said its soldiers came under fire from militants hiding in the school and responded. It accused Gaza’s Hamas rulers of “cynically” using civilians as human shields. Residents confirmed the account, saying militants were seen staging attacks from the area.

Despite international criticism over civilian deaths and a diplomatic push to broker a cease-fire, Israeli said it would push on with the offensive against Hamas.

Israeli ground forces edged closer to two major Gaza towns, and a total of 70 Palestinians were killed Tuesday - with just two confirmed as militants, health officials in Gaza said. A top U.N. official called for an investigation into the civilian death toll.

The Israelis will be roundly criticized for this attack I am sure. The Hamas fighter, and Islam in general seem to think that is ALL they have to do to change minds and opinions. Criticize Israel!

Think again ragheads! Some of us KNOW how you people fight. You are cowards and you use woman and children as *human shields* in an effort to save your sorry asses from being killed by soldiers, uniformed, well trained and well disciplined soldiers! And it would appear that this time around, Israel is not only wise to your cowardly ways but is ignoring your ploys and attacking you and yours anyway!

To the Israelis I say this, DO NOT STOP! This is a battle that MUST be seen through to a victorious and indisputable conclusion. A total VICTORY by the Army of Israel.

I venture to say, if Israel doesn’t pursue this action to a proper conclusion, it’s only a matter of time until the Palestinians and Hamas renew their rocket attacks and homicide bombings! That is NOT an acceptable scenario!

US joins press for truce as Gaza onslaught goes on

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - Israel seized control of high-rise buildings and attacked houses, mosques and smuggling tunnels as it pressed its offensive against the Gaza Strip’s Hamas rulers on Monday, while the U.S. joined a stream of countries pushing for a cease-fire.

At least 14 Palestinian children were killed on Monday, raising the known death toll from the 10-day onslaught to 540 - including 200 civilians, the U.N. and Palestinian officials said. Gaza’s biggest hospital said it was overwhelmed.

From Gaza, Hamas continued to pummel southern Israel with more than two dozen rockets on Monday and promised to wait for Israeli soldiers “in every street and every alleyway.”

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the offensive would go on until Israel achieved “peace and tranquility” for residents of southern Israel.

We have become a nation of wimpy appeasers. We are led by the biggest bunch of PC wusses that God ever let inhabit this earth! If we had had these same spineless weasels in office on Dec. 7, 1941, the USA would be speaking a mixture of German and Japanese.

The leadership of this nation is as gutless as the European Union. We no longer have the will to fight and for some reason we feel it’s OUR duty to impose our skewed view of *warfighting* on the one nation that we can call an ALLY that still KNOWS how to prosecute a military campaign!

Leave Israel alone, let them conduct this operation according to their rules of war. Israel has been repeatedly attacked, they are quite right to wage this battle. We should have long ago done the same thing along the Mexican border, but we are too damned GUTLESS, it’s not politically correct to kill those that invade US!

Our *limp noodle* leadership wants the entire world to become the EU and EU-USesque cabel. If the USA doesn’t grow a set of BALLS real soon, our enemies will have NO reason to sit back and wait, they will be all over us, and if the American people don’t fight, you can BET that our leadership won’t. And even if WE do fight, our chickens*it leadership will immediately be calling for us to declare a truce and surrender…
