Dueling rallies in Iran turn violent

TEHRAN, Iran - Hard-liners attacked senior pro-reform leaders in the streets as tens of thousands marched in competing mass demonstrations by the opposition and government supporters. Opposition protesters, chanting “death to the dictator,” hurled stones and bricks in clashes with security forces.

The opposition held its first major street protests since mid-July, bringing out thousands in demonstrations in several parts of the capital. In some cases only several blocks away, tens of thousands marched in government-sponsored rallies marking an annual anti-Israel commemoration.

The commemoration, known as Quds Day, is a major political occasion for the government — a day for it to show its anti-Israeli credentials and its support for the Palestinians. During a speech for the rallies, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad railed against Israel and the West, questioning whether the Holocaust occurred and calling it a pretext for occupying Arab land. Quds is the Arabic word for Jerusalem.

But the opposition was determined to turn the day into a show of its survival and continued strength despite a fierce three-month-old crackdown against it since the disputed June 12 presidential election.

I have been at odds with quite a few really good bloggers lately, great Conservative bloggers, Facebook friends and so forth. They change their screen names to green colored fonts, they place a green tint on their profile pictures. They fly Iranian flags. They implore everyone to support Freedom in Iran.

They are very confused I am afraid.

Freedom in Iran is NOT in our hands. We’ve got all we can do to keep America afloat given the morons we have in the Obama administration. Czars, socialists, anti-American racists, crooks, uh, yeah, crooks, ACORN and their ilk.

How well do ANY of you remember the Carter administration? Do you remember what the most defining part OF the Carter administration was?

That would be the Iranian hostage crisis, and his lack of ANY success in dealing with it.

The Iranian hostage crisis was a diplomatic crisis between Iran and the United States where 53 Americans were held hostage for 444 days from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981, after a group of Islamist students and militants took over the American embassy in support of the Iranian Revolution. SOURCE

The people that gave us the hostage crisis in 1979 are the same people that are in power today, and some of those same people are also on the opposing side, referred to simply as, The Opposition.

The Opposition wants to take control of Iraq, and for many, that means, hey, we need to support these guys, it’s an attempted regime change. And they are right, it would be a regime change. A change from one extreme bunch of Islamic moonbats to another. It’s just that simple. A change of regime in Iran won’t bring about a democracy any more than taking Saddam out of the picture did for Iraq.

In both Iraq and Afghanistan, once the leader in place was deposed, he was merely replaced with a bit more acceptable War Lord. And that is exactly what Hamid Karzai and Nouri al-Maliki are, the smartest, most powerful and the most pro-U.S. War Lord that could be found. The minute we leave Afghanistan, Karzai will be a page in history. As soon as we exit Iraq, al-Malaki becomes the next Saddam.

Iran protester slain after huge pro-reform rally

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Gunfire from a pro-government militia killed one man and wounded several others Monday after hundreds of thousands of chanting opponents of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad marched in central Tehran to support their pro-reform leader in his first public appearance since disputed elections. The outpouring in Azadi, or Freedom, Square for reformist leader Mir Hossein Mousavi followed a decision by Iran’s most powerful figure for an investigation into the vote-rigging allegations.

Security forces watched quietly, with shields and batons at their sides.

Later, a group of demonstrators with fuel canisters set a small fire at a compound of a volunteer militia linked to Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard as the crowd dispersed from the square. As some tried to storm the building, people on the roof could be seen firing directly at the demonstrators at the northern edge of the square, away from the heart of the rally.

An Associated Press photographer saw one person fatally shot and at least two others who appeared to be seriously wounded.

One thing I have to say for the people in nations like Iran and Iraq, they are NOT afraid to take it to the streets. They know they will be facing armed troops loyal to whatever despot is in charge, but they go out there anyway. Some in this nation are very close to conducting similar actions. I wonder at what point do our TEA Party rallies become a threat to the despot at the head of OUR government?

The United States has been attacked, but we have never been invaded, and this picture tells you exactly WHY!!

The libbers, the leftards, the anti-gun cabal and the all around moonbat gun grabbers think they can make this a better, and safer nation if ALL the guns are gone. And the Despot in Chief says nothing to the contrary.

“I am ready to pay any price to materialize the ideals of you dear people,” he said, speaking though a portable loudspeaker. “People feel their wisdom has been insulted. We have to pursue legal channels to regain our trampled rights and stop this last lie, and stand up to fraud and this astonishing charade.”

Does ANY of this sound remotely similar to the undercurrent running through America? Does ANY of this help to clarify exactly WHY the libtard left wants us unarmed??

The libtards are afraid of the armed American. The armed American is prepared to defend this nation from ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic. The apathetic and the stupid sit back and cry, “It could NEVER happen here”.

They are wrong!

Clashes erupt in Iran over disputed election

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Supporters of the main election challenger to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clashed with police and set up barricades of burning tires Saturday as authorities claimed the hard-line president was re-elected in a landslide. The rival candidate said the vote was tainted by widespread fraud and his followers responded with the most serious unrest in the capital in a decade.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, closed the door on any chance he could use his limitless powers to intervene in the disputes from Friday’s election. In a message on state TV, he urged the nation to unite behind Ahmadinejad, calling the result a “divine assessment.”

Several hundred demonstrators - many wearing the trademark green colors of pro-reform candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi’s campaign - chanted “the government lied to the people” and gathered near the Interior Ministry as the final count from Friday’s presidential election was announced.

It gave 62.6 percent of the vote to Ahmadinejad and 33.75 to Mousavi - a former prime minister who has become the hero of a youth-driven movement seeking greater liberties and a gentler face for Iran abroad.

Do you want a glimpse into the future of the USA in 2010 and 2012 when Conservatives and REAL Republicans attempt to unseat the Dems, RINOs and the regime of Barack Hussein Obama? Just look at the photos and read this story.

Nationwide, the text messaging system remained down Saturday and several pro-Mousavi Web sites were blocked or difficult to access. Text messaging is frequently used by many Iranians - especially young Mousavi supporters - to spread election news.

This my friends, is the future of America as well.
