ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - Barack Obama, making his first visit to a Muslim nation as president, declared Monday the United States “is not and will never be at war with Islam.”
Urging a greater partnership with the Islamic world in an address to the Turkish parliament, Obama called the country an important ally in many areas, including the fight against terrorism. He devoted much of his speech to urging a greater bond between Americans and Muslims, portraying terrorist groups such as al-Qaida as extremists who do not represent the vast majority of Muslims.
“Let me say this as clearly as I can,” Obama said. “The United States is not and will never be at war with Islam. In fact, our partnership with the Muslim world is critical … in rolling back the violent ideologies that people of all faiths reject.”
The U.S. president is trying to mend fences with a Muslim world that felt it had been blamed by America for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Obama tells Turks that US is not at war with Islam
Let your imagination take over for just a minute, it’s the afternoon of Dec. 7, 1941 and Obama is the President. Pearl Harbor has been attacked, the Pacific Fleet has be decimated. Several thousand American military personnel lay dead, dying or forever missing.
President Barack Hussein Obama goes on the radio and tells the American people, “We are not, um, at war with the Japanese, uh, people, this was a, ah, terrible mistake. They felt that we had, um, done them an injustice and, uh, this was their way of acting, uh, out on it. We can’t blame the Japanese, um, people, and I am going to speak with the, uh, Japanese ambassador in the morning. I am sure that, uh, we can work this out with, um, sincere negotiations and we will, uh, work to build the trust of, um, our Japanese brothers.” That’s pretty much what he has said to Islam.
“America’s relationship with the Muslim community,” he said, “cannot and will not just be based upon opposition to terrorism. We seek broader engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect.”
“We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world, including in my own country,” he said.
Does anyone have any doubt that Obama is NOT what many of us have wondered about? What many of us have questioned? A Muslim in his heart and a kindred spirit with the Islamic hordes that have vowed to destroy America? The real life version of The Manchurian Candidate?
I have used this analogy before, but it’s worth repeating I believe. Not ALL rattlesnakes are bad guys, there might actually be a few that want to be your buddy, just hang out, eat pizza and watch some football, and would NEVER bite you, but how do we know which one that may be?
We don’t, and that is how it works with Islam. Muslims refuse to stand against those in their ranks that are violent insurgents and terrorists. Until such time as all DECENT Muslims take a bold and obvious stance against those evildoers, I pretty much lump them ALL in the same basket.
And unlike our POTUS, I have no problem with calling a war by it’s real and proper name, WAR…
