StartLogic Web Hosting SUCKS!

This is a copy of the complaint I filed last night with a site dedicated to the documentation of StartLogic errors and customer service faux pas,

I have been a StartLogic customer for 2 years, the service was really great at 1st, no real complaints, but since the transition we have experienced MANY outages and can get NO satisfaction from Tech Support, such as it is, all they do is make excuses and apologies…

I have asked repeatedly to speak to someone a lot higher up the chain than a Tech Supervisor and have been told that this was an impossibility…

A bit of online detective work found this, Job title:

On June 7th we had an 8 hour outage and got no reason as to why, all we got was apologies…

On July 7th we had a 5 hour outage and got no explanation as to why, only apologies and assurances that it would be taken care of.

At 10:00PM CDT on July 9 all StartLogic service went down, and as of right now, 12:15AM July 10, it is still down and the only thing the so-called Tech Support can say is, “We apologize and should have the service back up and fully functional in 45 minutes to an hour”

Later today, during normal business hours, I am contacting the Better Business Bureau of Phoenix and filing a complaint as well as attempting to contact this Thomas Gorney, if he exists, and if he is the CEO, he should be able to resolve the issues, unless he isn’t aware of those issues, and in that case I will be giving him an ear full…

My business partner and I have 16 sites on 4 domains and this is really ridiculous, some are fun sites, but some are business, and the business is really getting screwed over by this so-called service from StartLogic…

This site has many testimonials from past and present StartLogic customers, and none of it is good…

We have had repeated issues with StartLogic, Bushwack at American and Proud can verify every word of this, we were both on the phone with StartLogic until late last night, I gave up and went to bed since I have a 10AM doctors appointment…

StartLogic will LIE to get an irate customer off of the phone, they tell you, “Let me have your phone number and as soon as we have an explanation or a resolution, we’ll call you right back”, I have heard that line 5 times in the last 3 days and have yet to be called or contacted by anyone at StartLogic…

And to further expose the lies of StartLogic, they have ALL of my REAL information on file, they have to, I am a domain owner, they have ALL of my contact information, but the were simply liars when they said they would call back, it was just another excuse…

We were down for at least 5 1/2 hours that I know of, I last got up to check the site at 3:30AM, and by the way, this was NOT just an outage of mine and Bushwack’s sites, it was a total system outage that affected every customer on their servers…

    By the way, I second your rousing testimonial. I, too, would strongly suggest people take their hosting business elsewhere. If I hadn’t just paid for two years of hosting, I would be looking at moving today.

    “Lunar Pages”…..0 problems ever! Although I believe I am done in the blogging bus, or it’s done with me….. I was never dissatisfied with them! “A plus web hoster”

    Oh Fred, don’t forget the promise of “It will be better than ever” HA, we have been listening to that crap for more than 6 mos.

    I called them again at 0020hrs, on hold for more than 30 minutes, and finally some lady in the Philippines answers “Start logic can I help you” In broken english, CLICK. Not worth the effort.

    When they ask you for your name and number you could always give them the name and number of an attorney and then add that he is handling the case for you. See if that wakes them up in India, for that’s where their Tech Support is.

    Bluehosting. Works great. Haven’t had a complaint since we swtched from craplogic.

    I’m on Bluehost with Kate…. No complaints. When they have issues there are no excuses, they tell you what the problem are and get on it and their tech support is in the U.S.

    Kate and *E*, I don’t guess you know?? Blue Host was down, went down at almost the same time last night, albeit not for more than 10 or 15 minutes but it was down…

    Ain’t none of em perfect but Startlogic has fallen into the SHEER CRAP realm now…

    Wait until everything in regards to hosts and servers is ‘outsourced’ to the pest holes of the world if you think its bad now. And that’s coming as sure as the sun rises in the east.

    :) Must have been after I shuffled off to bed.

    I can handle 10 or 15 minutes once in a while. It was those hours (and a day or two) on end that pushed us over the edge.

    I’ve had my share of problems with hosting companies, right now I am moving a site to a different hosting company - although not exactly having the types serious problems you are describing. It is just a hardship from a shared host computer (not a hosting setup I arranged) - but none the less it is causing grief.

    All in all, because of my experiences I no longer like to recommend hosting companies.

    They all suck. Some just suck less (I must’ve missed that 15-minute outage from BlueHost).

    Speaking of bad hosts, I got a 500 Internal Server error trying to post this the first time around.

    Wow, that really sucks. I can’t really (even though I do) when mine goes down, because it’s blogger, it’s free, and they usually warn us ahead of time. The only thing is, they don’t know how to read a clock or a calendar! lol.

    Howdy there, TexasFred. This is Rosemary. I tried to reach you through the hosting page, but it says only admin are authorized. I am now also a admin as of last night. Faultline had surgery today, and I do not know if she’ll be on the net yet. I’d give it about a week. In the meantime, could you possibly help me with adding new members (don’t have any yet) and adding posts to the sidebar? (Oh, wait a minute…I think I know how to do that! Just not with the script! lol) Have a great day! ;)

    I’m still with West Host…from Utah, and they all speak perfect English. So far I am happy with them,,,but having just said that I may have jinxed myself !
    Hope it’s resolved soon ,Fred ( and Robert )

    Thanks for the “honest” testimonial. As you know, I signed with Bluehost, and so far so good. I must have slept through the outtage, too.
