WASHINGTON (AP) - With the economy on the brink and elections looming, Congress approved an unprecedented $700 billion government bailout of the battered financial industry on Friday and sent it to President Bush for his certain signature. The final vote, 263-171 in the House, capped two weeks of tumult in Congress and on Wall Street, punctuated by daily warnings that the country confronted the gravest economic crisis since the Great Depression if lawmakers failed to act.

Congress OKs historic bailout bill
Ladies and Gentlemen, the United States of America has just become a SOCIALIST nation. By passing the nearly $1 TRILLION bailout our Senate and Congress has destroyed over 200 years of free enterprise and capitalism.
I am totally ashamed of my 2 U.S. Senators, I expected much more from these Republicans that also claim to be Conservatives. The Republican Party is no more, it has died a nasty death, there is only Democratic Socialism and a feint heartbeat of Conservatism heard in this nation after today.
Below you will find pictures of my Senators, the faces of SOCIALISM. I hope bloggers from all over this nation will take this lead and make similar posts if your Senators or Congressmen voted FOR this debacle. Vote them out, FIRE THEM, we can’t allow socialists to run this nation, socialism has no place in a free market society, and if we fail as free market capitalists, so be it, failure is better than becoming a socialist nation. And thank God, my Congressman, Mr. Sam Johnson voted against this terrible program, Mr. Sam, YOU are still the MAN!

Good for Sam! I just heard the news here that my representative Dean Heller also stood by his guns and voted NO also. He was the ONLY legislator from the entire state of Nevada that held out and stood by his principles.
He just explained on the radio has he should that yes…there were some tax breaks included in that bill that would have helped Nevadans, and there was some money in that bill that would go to Nevada (pork)…but the overall bill was so bad that he could not put Nevadans on the hook for it. He also said that if placed in separate legislation he’d be happy to support those tax breaks obviously…just couldn’t live with all the rest.
I am again proud of him!
I’m in the same boat, Fred. Both of my rat bastard Senators (Jon Kyl and John McStupid) voted for the bailout. My representative, Rick Renzi, voted nay.
My dad is absolutely livid, God bless his soul.
I’m going to post my own rogue’s gallery (like this one) on No Man’s Blog and link here.
[...] Texas Fred is mad as hell, and who can blame him? Both of his Senators voted for the bailout bill this past Wednesday. (His Congressman voted “nay? today.) [...]
My congressman Hensarling voted NO.
But my 2 Senators Voted Yes.
I will remember this come election cycle. BBELIEVE ME, I WILL REMEMBER!!!
