Sen. John Cornyn rejects Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions Obama accusation

WASHINGTON – The Texan who leads the Senate Republican campaign effort rejected Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions’ allegation that President Barack Obama is intentionally sabotaging the U.S. economy.

“I don’t know where he’s coming from on it,” Sen. John Cornyn said Wednesday. “I’d like some sort of clarification about what he meant.”

Democrats mocked Sessions – a member of the congressional GOP leadership who chairs the party’s House campaign committee – as paranoid and flirting with conspiracy theories after he was quoted accusing Obama of intentionally destroying American jobs and trying to depress the stock market in order to topple the capitalist system.

Sessions aides sought to explain away the remarks by citing comments from some Democratic lawmakers complaining that Obama energy and anti-pollution policies would cost jobs.

But Sessions had gone a step further, arguing not merely that Obama policies carry undesirable consequences, but that they are intended to help the president grab more power and reshape the U.S. economic system.

Sen. John Cornyn rejects Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions Obama accusation

When John Cornyn voted FOR the 1st Bush bailout, I said then that I was of the opinion that Sen. Cornyn was exhibiting some seriously socialistic traits, I am STILL convinced of that! At times, John Cornyn almost makes you think he’s a real Republican, then there are those other times, when he makes you believe that he has NO idea what it means to BE a Republican, much less a Conservative!

Cornyn explicitly rejected the idea that Obama wants higher unemployment, lower stock prices and general economic malaise.

Maybe Obama doesn’t want these things, maybe he secretly does. Maybe his real intent is to take the United States into a position of being a fully socialist nation. Maybe John Cornyn is secretly complicit in that plan. Maybe. Just covering ALL of the bases.

“A lot of what he’s doing is going to have disastrous consequences,” Cornyn said. “I’m very concerned about his policies, but I don’t agree that it’s intentional.”

I have to challenge Sen. Cornyn on this. If he believes that the Obama policies are going to have ‘disastrous consequences’, is he, Sen. Cornyn, going to fight tooth and nail to contradict the actions of Obama and his, intentional or not, ill-conceived plans that are going to prove disastrous for many generations to come?

John Cornyn was once a man I had great respect for, much as I respected Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. After Sen. Cornyn came out in favor of the 1st bailout, the Bush bailout, I was done with him, and any other politician that voted in favor of this socialist policy. I am of the opinion that ANY Republican that voted FOR any part of ANY bailout, is NOT a Republican, certainly not a Conservative, and could best be labeled as nothing more than a RINO, a Republican In Name Only.

I am not looking to make nice with the Dems, I am NOT looking to make nice with the Republicans, and quite frankly, I don’t give a damn if the Republicans like that or not. It’s about time that we had some hard-nosed Conservatives in office, guys that will speak their minds, PC be damned, America 1st and to HELL with anyone that can’t support this nation over some bloated party platform!

I dunno. I think Sessions might be right. After being told repeatedly that his policies would not stop the slide, and instead would just make things worse, BO just carried on, with his nose in the air. Perhaps Cornyn is clueless, but I kind of doubt it. Kind of sounds like ‘suck up’ to me. :?

Suck up and ass kisser, Cornyn kisses ass when he feels he NEEDS the votes, he’s kinda, sorta kissing Obama’s ass maybe…

Cornyn rendered himself useless, in my opinion, before Obama came into the picture…

I must agree with your thinking Fred! Cornyn come out with some good things most of the time. However, I also look at any move towards Socialism as an anchor being dropped in the career of any Republican who votes for bailout’s, stimuli packages, or Socialized Health care.

Back to the subject at hand. In my opinion Mr. Obama is is just the puppet to his masters who want to change the United States of America into the North American Socialist Union. And yes, I think he is fully aware of the path his multi-trillion dollar spending spree will lead us.

After all, why wait for a crisis when you can create one with Congressional support?

Fred said ‘I am not looking to make nice with the Dems, I am NOT looking to make nice with the Republicans, and quite frankly, I don’t give a damn if the Republicans like that or not.’

Amen! what we have here is a target rich environment…. time to get it on!

Recently Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC, said America has had enough of Capitalism. Couple that with Obama’s “share the wealth” statement to Joe the Plumber, his taking over two of the big 3 auto manufacturers and his not allowing banks to repay TARP money so he can control them, I think Session’s is right on the money.

I heard on the news today, Chrysler (Obama) is closing an engine manufacturing plant in the US and opening a plant in Mexico to manufacture those engines. He’s doing away with American jobs to create jobs in Mexico.

More proof that Cornyn is just another Inside the Beltway RINO who is more interested in getting invited to parties than telling the truth. In one word he is an ASSHOLE!

As a seemingly intelligent Texan, I don’t understand Corny, I really don’t. If Corny thinks that Obama isn’t destroying jobs intentionally, just what the heck does he think the word “Policy” means? Accidental promulgation of lengthy rules?

Corny, you aren’t the Senator I voted for and that is for damn sure!

  8. comment number 8 by: TexasFred

And that analysis is exactly why I value the opinion of GM Roper SO much…

The Cornyn we have now is NOT the Cornyn I voted for a bit over 6 years ago, and just to be fair and balanced, I didn’t vote for him last November, I refused to vote for the LESSER, I will never vote the LESSER ever again…

Cornyn has been on my shit-list since he voted in the affirmative for the unconstitutional bail-out Bill and then throwing his weight behind the Democrat in Drag Sphincter Specter.

    Screw Cornyn.

Folks, with all due respect to all of the conservatives and folks like myself, a conservative libertarian, we MUST stop using the term “RINO”. It is time to call spades what they are…spades. “RINOs” are nothing more and nothing less than Democrats In Drag. They are the “neo-cons” that infiltrated the CONSERVATIVE movement under Ronald Maximus Reaganus. They were democrats then, became RINOs later and need to return to the DNC post haste.

It is easy to judge and complain and to object to every person’s statements. And it right that Texans make their own judgment on the overall performance of their Senators.

But what is wrong with the Southern gentlemanly comment when put on the spot with a question: “I don’t know where he’s coming from on it,” Sen. John Cornyn said Wednesday. “I’d like some sort of clarification about what he meant.” It’s is far better than most of the half-ass comments we hear.

Do we all have to jump off the deep end on every issue? I don’t always agree with Sen. John Cornyn and I doubt if I would agree with any of you 80% of the time. My wife of 43 years, would even say I was being generous using 80%. In fact, there is only one person who’s words, I agree with 100% even when I do not understand or fathom the depth of his words; and that is Jesus Christ.

You know,,,, all this just makes RON PAUL look good, doesn’t it.
What is wrong with our TEXAS politicians??
I want a politician who will not change his views, EVER.

Now I got to worry about something else.

I say vote,em ALL OUT. Let’s just start over, and put a MAX of only 10 years in office. PERIOD. That way, maybe they will learn to vote for us, who sent them there to “Washington” to truly vote the way of their populace that sent them to Washington in the first place.

We need more JEB HENSARLING”S !!!!!

Isn’t this pathetic. Cornyn has also jumped to support Charlie Crist, without so much of a sideways glance at Marco Rubio. I don’t know that Rubio is the man for Congress, but his interviews and his record are most impressive.

I agree with mrchuck. Just vote them all out. They are way to comfortable in their cushy senate seats.
