BAGHDAD (AP) - A series of explosions targeting government and commercial buildings struck Baghdad Wednesday, killing at least 75 people and wounding more than 300, Iraqi police and medical officials said.
The blasts in the capital followed a string of attacks in Iraq this month that have claimed hundreds of lives and raised concerns about the ability of Iraqi security forces to keep the lid on violence in advance of an American withdrawal.
The deadliest was a car bomb near the foreign ministry, which killed at least 59 people and wounded 250. Officials said the toll may climb as rescue workers continue to search through rubble and debris. The ministry is close to the fortified Green Zone. The officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
The force of the explosion blew concrete slabs off the front of the 10-story building, shattering windows and crushing cars parked outside. Dozens of cars were burned.

My most sincere hope is that NO Americans were killed in this attack.
These are the people that, not too long ago, so many Americans cried and fretted over, Support Iraqi Freedom and all that. You know what and who I mean.
The Iraqis have been fighting, and KILLING one another since time began. There is nothing that we, or any other civilized western power can do to stop it either. Cut our losses! Get the hell OUT and let them kill each other, not our troops.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) - A Muslim part-time model will be caned next week, becoming the first woman in Malaysia to be given the punishment under Islamic law, after she pleaded guilty to drinking beer, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
An Islamic court in July ordered that Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno, 32, be lashed six times with a rattan cane after she was caught drinking alcohol in a raid on a hotel night club in eastern Pahang state last year.

Won’t the USA be so much better off once the Obama Plan of One World Government and the total Islamification of America is complete? There’s one catch though; if some dingbat Black professor decides to cry RACIST when confronted by the police, Obama won’t be able to have them over for a beer to work things out. Well, not without becoming a hypocrite.

Islam IS the religion of peace. They truly want world peace. The problem is that we westerners just don’t get that their only idea of peace is for all the world to follow islam. Or die. Whichever, they really don’t care.
I say we give them peace. The peace of the grave that is. Well, I guess that might not be so peaceful for them either, once they find out that the have been deceived about what to expect after this life.
That’s a good take on the anti gun issue, hadn’t thought of it that way. Good point.
Problem is we do have too many that will just roll over. Well, I guess that’s not really my problem, be good to get them identified and out of the way.
By the way, I think Texas could take Iraq. I say we give that a shot.
If we were allowed to truly bring to bear the full military might of the United States, that shit hole would be cleaned up by now. Hell, If we had just dropped in about 2000 good Marines and let them do their job without interference, it would be done. After all, about 2000 Marines drove back most of the German army in WWI at the Battle of Belleau Wood. Just think what we could do with modern weapons and equipment.

What I do care about is like what Fred calls it as a festering shithole, is that it still keeps bleeding our economy at a tremendous pace and for WHAT?? A bunch of camel bangers that are going to have a civil war once we are gone no matter how many security people they have in place. They’ll take sides immediatley as soon as the shit starts. MY plan?

We got drills that will cut through anything; except political bullshit that keeps the tree huggers happy.
This is the beginning of Iraq coming apart at the seams. US troops are out of the cities and can’t do anything unless the Iraqui govt requests help. All factions know Obama is weak and inept and thus they can take up arms against oneanother without outside interference. Time to bring the troops home this ones over. Should have killed the likes of Al Sadr when we had the chance; Bush screwed up on that one. Iran will eventually come out on top with total control of Iraq. That is unless Obama shows he has balls but obviously thats not the case and we wouldn’t want to piss off our Muslim brothers would we?
