Attacks kill at least 21 in Mexican border cities

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) - Firefighters found six bodies inside a burning car in Tijuana, and 15 people were killed in three separate shootings in another northern Mexican border town besieged by drug violence, authorities said Tuesday.

Near Mexico’s southern border, meanwhile, the bullet-ridden bodies of eight men suspected to be drug traffickers were found in a Guatemalan frontier town.

In Tijuana, across the border from San Diego, four bodies were found in a burning compact car’s seats and two in the trunk, according to a police report Tuesday.

The victims’ identities and the motive for the killings were not released, but the Mexican city is on a major route for drugs heading north and has recently seen a wave of violence between warring gangs. The bodies were found Monday night.

Attacks kill at least 21 in Mexican border cities

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the president has given ANY indication that our borders are going to be closed? And closely guarded by National Guard troops?

Yeah, I know, it’s not going to happen. It’s been many years since we had a president that possessed the fortitude to actually address the problems that this nation faces. At least to address them in a realist manner.

Where border security issues are concerned, it looks like border states are going to have to stand on their own if they want to actually have border security. I can’t speak regarding California, Arizona or New Mexico, and their efforts to secure their part of the U.S./Mexican border, but I know what Texas Governor Rick Perry is doing;

HOUSTON - Special teams of Texas Rangers will be deployed to the Texas-Mexico border to deal with increasing violence because the federal government has failed to address growing problems there, Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday.

“It is an expansive effort with the Rangers playing a more high-profile role than they’ve ever played before,” Perry said of the Department of Public Safety’s elite investigative unit.

The forces, dubbed “Ranger recon” teams, are the latest effort “to fill the gap that’s been left by the federal government’s ongoing failure to adequately secure our international border with Mexico,” he said. SOURCE

Texas isn’t going to take this stuff laying down. Texas was born from a fight for freedom, freedom FROM Mexico. Texans have been fighting Mexicans since Texas came to be. It’s nothing new here, it’s just what we do. And today, Texas is once again in a fight to stop Mexican drug cartels from coming to power here.

Some folks, particularly U.S. Senator Kay Bailout Hutchison, claims this is a reelection stunt. She says that Perry only ordered this because he’s looking for votes. I beg to differ Sen. Hutchison.

I believe that Gov. Perry has, as have most Texans, had all of this BS he can stand. I believe he sees the dangers that Texas and it’s citizens are facing from these cretins in Mexico. I believe he is acting to protect Texas and the good folks OF Texas.

That would be a topic that Sen. Hutchison, and apparently, the U.S. government, has very little knowledge of.

Some will call our fight with Mexican drug cartels a RACIST battle, they will say that we’re only doing it because they are Mexicans and because we hate The Brown People. The libber left will be branding this fight as an attempt to keep a depressed people from earning a living the only way they know how. That is the libber mindset. Throw a race card, even when RACE isn’t the issue, and make a weak attempt at defending the indefensible, drug dealers.

Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, Texas, is Mexico’s deadliest city with more than 1,300 killings so far this year. The city is in the midst of an intense turf battle between the Juarez and Sinaloa cartels.

Officials held a ceremony for 1,200 Mexican army soldiers who were being withdrawn from Ciudad Juarez. The troops were part of a contingent sent there earlier this year to fight crime while the city trained more police officers. SOURCE

If the original story is to be believed, and the numbers are accurate, it would appear that the infusion of Mexican Army troops had little effect on the death toll.

Police officers take oath during the graduation ceremony of 635 new
officers in Ciudad Juarez, northern Mexico, Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009.

635 NEW Mexican police officers. And that’s going to replace the 1,200 Mexican army soldiers who are being withdrawn from Ciudad Juarez? Yeah, those numbers make good sense I guess, if you’re a Mexican maybe. And there’s a point of this picture that really bothers me, I am hoping others notice it and mention it in comments.

What I see here is 635 new bribes that will be paid by the cartels. And since they are NEW officers, they will get minimal, ROOKIE bribes.

I have no use for Mexican police, the Mexican army or the Mexican government. I have no faith in their ability to stop, or to slow down the cartels actually. The Mexican government is for sale to the highest bidder. That is not an accusation, it is the truth. Bribes and corruption have long been the order of the day for ALL involved in the governance of Mexico.

If border states aren’t willing to take on this battle themselves, the battle WILL NOT be fought. Our own government has ignored the border for far too long, and I am fairly certain that there will be no sudden interest at this late date.

It’s up to us Texas, and we need people like Rick Perry leading the way. I am more convinced, every day, that Texas will not survive if we remain a part of the United States, I am a solid supporter of the Texas Sovereignty movement and the passing of Texas Sovereignty through our Texas legislature. I believe that our very survival is on the line, and if WE don’t get the job done, Washington damn sure isn’t going to do it for us!

    Uh….”Heil Hitler” comes to mind.

Glad to see Governor Perry take a stand. That pussy in the White House will do nothing unless many die on this side of the border—some pre-emption is called for. Bottom line the borders need to be secured using whatever force is called for. Yep, you are right about the racism charge coming up. Just posted on this again today—I’m throughly pissed. Did you hear Jimmy Carter the other day?

  3. comment number 3 by: TexasFred

If you look up the definition of MORON in your Funk and Wagnalls, they have a pic of Jimmy Carter…

I love you gravatar Kate! I visited Mexico one time while I was in Arizona. You couldn’t pay me to go back. That was one of the many problems I had with Bush, the borders not being closed. If you take all the tax money Obama spends on his weekly vacations and dinner sprees we could take care of the border problem. No, he just wants a way for his radical islamic friends to have another easy way to get in this country. There have been to many people in our Country killed because of the borders not being closed and it needs to stop. I say we move the WH to the border - see if that stops the problem!

  5. comment number 5 by: HoosierArmyMom

I’m with Kate. Instead of a police force, it looks more like the Hitler Youth taking the pledge to the Father Land and Hitler.

You have been blessed with a governor like Rick Perry, and I’m with you on state sovereignty as Indiana has a bill coming up in the General Assembly. The government in place now simply does not care. They are busy serving special interests and stuffing money in their own pockets and those pockets of their campaign contributors (like labor unions, ACORN, etc.). God Bless the Texas Rangers and Rick Perry.

Margaret, you ARE correct, but it’s not just Obooboo and Bush 43… It goes a long ways past them, including the great Ronald Reagan, he did NOTHING about the border, and pushed his own amnesty plan onto the American people.
    ***********************************************
The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), also Simpson-Mazzoli Act (Pub.L. 99-603, 100 Stat. 3359, signed by President Ronald Reagan on November 6, 1986) is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law. The Act made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants (immigrants who do not possess lawful work authorization), required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status, and granted amnesty to certain illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously. The Act also granted a path towards legalization to certain agricultural seasonal workers and immigrants who had been continuously and illegally present in the United States since January 1, 1982.

Yes, I DO dare to question the great Ronald Reagan, I call wrong as wrong, no matter WHO it is…

The last time a U.S. President had the BALLS to address this crap was when President Dwight D. Eisenhower initiated Operation Wetback

Thanks for the info Fred! I only named those two because I was a kid during the others and really do not know much about them. I will have to correct that and do more research. It seems like that is all I do (research) on our past. It is overwhelming how corrupt some of these presidents are and that they get away with it. KEEP up the good work Fred!

  8. comment number 8 by: HoosierArmyMom

Funny, the one with the kahunas would be a military man!!! I for one do not worship Ronald Reagan like others do. Iran/Contra happened under his watch, and as you pointed out, he did nothing to protect our borders. He did a lot of good things, but I think he picked some smart people to serve in his cabinet and listened to them.

  9. comment number 9 by: hardheadedtexan

I used to go to Tijuana when I was stationed in California. I would start drinking as soon as I crossed the border so I could forget where I was. I was underage so me and my military friends went down there to party. Young and dumb.
We all know how screwed up Mexico is and how bad their economy is and forever will be. Not my problem. I know that sounds cold.
So since Mexico is not going to change tonight we need to protect America. I don’t care what they do to keep the illegals out. Just do it. I don’t know what Mexico does to bribe our govt, must be something big. Thank God Gov Perry is at least trying. I shudder at the thought of Hutchinson running for our Governor.

  10. comment number 10 by: minuteman26

Wonder what the rules of engagment will be for these ranger teams. If they can’t shoot when they think necessary they will not be very effective. Whats their relationship with the BP and other federal agencies. If they have to clear through them that will screw things up as well. If I was Perry I would tell the feds these are my people protecting the state of Texas; don’t even think about messing with them.

  11. comment number 11 by: TexasFred

ROE’s for Texas Rangers and Texas DPS are a bit looser than most Departments…

  12. comment number 12 by: hardheadedtexan

    Good point minuteman26.
We have to support the people that are defending us and our country. I’m going to send Gov Perry a letter asking him to cover their asses.

  13. comment number 13 by: LoneRider

Fred, et al, got a few things I want to add, if I may.

I know we disagree on Perry, and on this one issue, I have to agree with KBH and ask, why do you believe Perry is being honest this time??? Last election cycle, he got all huffy about the border before the election, got some troops down there, got the surveillance going, and before his term started, those programs started to get lost.

And he is a special interest lover, how much of our land did he try to confiscate and cell to an Italian firm??? 100′s, if not thousands of hectares. Who was it that did his best to sell 121 to Cintra??? Who did his best to sell of the Texas state lottery?? Who did his best to make ever female child get a guardicil shot, the list goes on.

I know I am being rude here, but seriously, how do you know Perry is telling the truth this time, when he has been caught in so many lies, scratch that, mis-truths (are we still allowed to say mis-truth??)

I will say, KBH is worse than he is, she is an even bigger mis-truther than perry.

  14. comment number 14 by: TexasFred

Tom, have you taken American citizenship yet?? Can you vote?

And yes, you ARE being rude, and that won’t be tolerated for very long, from YOU or anyone else…

  15. comment number 15 by: LoneRider

Second thought, it has been mention, but the Mexican invasion is already responsible for many uncounted dead. How many more rapes, traffic accidents, murders, burglaries are perpetrated by the vermin who cross the border. Granted, I would like the think the vast majority are decent people.

But the fact still remains, every single person who cross that border illegally is a law breaker! They willingly break the law. From there, its only more laws to be broken.

But when you add up the medical services they consume that don’t make it to legal residents, to gangs activities, I do not know if we could every count the dead from this invasion!

And I seriously hope you are correct Fred, and this time, Perry is telling the truth, and is action going to try to solve the problem.

As I told a supporter, we will know he is serious, when he starts to help cities such as Irving and Farmers Branch, and discipline cities such as Houston, Dallas and Austin.

  16. comment number 16 by: LoneRider

I became eligible to apply for citizenship this summer, and have yet to apply, but I need to do so soon. But I pay taxes, and do my best to support businesses that obviously hire a legal workforce, avoid ones that obviously don’t. By built in America where possible. It is hard with a couple of young children to do all I would like. But I do support politicians such as Joe Wilson, and like a third Republican governor candidate in the Primaries. I really wanted to go to Washington last weekend, but just not possible.

  17. comment number 17 by: TexasFred

Then it’s MY turn to be rude…

Until you become a U.S. citizen and actually VOTE, you really don’t have a lot to bitch about now do you??

  18. comment number 18 by: LoneRider

Sure I do, I pay taxes, I contribute to my community, I have two children and a wife that are American citizens, I am a *LEGAL* permanent resident. In fact, under the current laws of the land, I believe I have all of the same rights and responsibilities as you, except there are some political positions I can’t legally hold, and one I never be able to legally hold and I have a single extra restriction on purchasing firearms. And if I where to reside in another country, my US taxes would be different than if you where to reside in a different country, but not sure on that one.

IIRC, neither of us where born in Texas, but we both intend on living the rest of our lives here.

  19. comment number 19 by: TexasFred

Once you become a CITIZEN, and a VOTER, then you have a right to bitch… Sorry if that doesn’t fit into your picture of *almost* being there, but *almost* doesn’t count…

No American citizen has a right to bitch if they don’t vote… And I for 1 am damned tired of non-citizens and their opinion of America…

  20. comment number 20 by: Gawfer

    Dawgonnit Fred,

You stole my thunder on Operation Wetback. Two other Presidents did the same thing; Hoover and Truman.

If we could just find a president with some intestinal fortitude…

  21. comment number 21 by: TexasFred

As long as YOUR thunder wasn’t intestinal thunder:?

And we CAN find a POTUS like that, I just don’t think we can get me elected, too many skeletons in MY closet…

  22. comment number 22 by: HoosierArmyMom

If you do it right Fred, you can get the MSM to help suppress your skeletons just like Obama did!!! And of course Clinton did a good job of keep the skeletons out of the limelight until it didn’t matter anymore!!! :-)

  23. comment number 23 by: TexasFred

Yeah, but then I’d have to have a dyke bitch like Hillary or a gorilla like Michelle as a wife…

There are some things I WILL NOT DO for my country… :P

No, no, on the wife thing you get to play by the Conservative rules… someone like Michelle Malkin or Megyn Kelly would work.

HAM… You may not know this, so, to let you in on a not too secret secret, I HATE Malkin and I wouldn’t piss in Kelly’s ear if her brain was on fire… If that were the only type of Conservative women out there, I would be SINGLE…

  27. comment number 27 by: HoosierArmyMom

There have been a few single Presidents, so I’m sure there have been more Senators and Congressmen who weren’t married. Just think of the “color” you would add to the Senate or House if you ran!!!!

As far as Conservative women go, I actually like Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. The others yap about too many things that don’t really matter. I can understand your point.

  28. comment number 28 by: TexasFred

I AM married… To a beautiful Conservative TEXAS Native, she’s WHITE, blue eyes and she’s as hard core as I am… Malkin is NOT a topic I will discuss in public, I got in too much trouble the last time I said I thought she was a hatchet faced… Uh… nebber mind…

Kelly is a shrill smart-ass, Coulter is far too skinny and Laura Ingraham is WAY too young for an old racist geezer like me… :P

    No doubt… :?

  31. comment number 31 by: HoosierArmyMom

Well you could be right, America would be able to handle Mr. and Mrs. Fred in politics!!! Brahahaha!!!! Oh, it’s hard to find anyone who would want to put up with the BS isn’t it!!!!

  32. comment number 32 by: BobF

If Texas Rangers are sent to patrol the border, you can bet every bleeding heart liberal group will be there to monitor their every move. Also, Obama will have his “Johnny Sutton’s” there to prosecute any trumped up chargers they can muster.

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) - Gunmen burst into a drug treatment center in the northern Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and shot to death 10 people, the second such mass killing this month.

Police say nine men and one woman were killed in the attack just before midnight Tuesday at the Anexo de Vida center in Mexico’s most violent city. Two people were seriously wounded.

Enrique Torres, a spokesman for Chihuahua state police, said Wednesday the identities of the gunmen and the motive for the attack have not yet been established.

But officials have said in the past that drug gangs may be using treatment centers to recruit dealers, or may be targeting them to eliminate rivals.

So Fred are saying you would rather me shut up, stop paying taxes and stop helping actual conservative politicians ??? Stop trying to spread the conservative values. Stop trying to raise my kids to love Texas and be solid members of this society.

Are you saying, you are better with me out of this state? Really?

Are you saying you will only accept help to maintain your way of life from selected individuals, or only those that agree with you?

If I’m correct you lumped me in with a host of American hating liberals??? Did you?

  35. comment number 35 by: TexasFred

And at this point, the *Shut up* part would work quite well for you…

You came in here, rudely, and started blasting MY choice for Governor, on MY blog… You can go FUCK yourself… I pay the bills here, and I support Rick Perry, if you don’t like that, LEAVE… It’s THAT simple..

    Lonerider,
I don’t want to get in a bitch contest with anybody here on Fred’s board, or any other board for that matter, but there comes a time when it’s best to “zip your lip” and just kind of back out to where you came from and cool your heels. We Americans are proud of our 1rst amendment but there’s times when free speech will get ya into trouble and I think this is one of them. If you want to be welcome here I’m sure Fred won’t mind if you disagree with him on occasion, but you have to know when to quit. Fred, hope you don’t mind for me buttin in.

    Let’s be frank:

There isn’t ONE president who was known for his “secure borders” platform.

    Not ONE.

Not then. Not now. And certainly not from this current admin. It would seem to be up to YOUR governor to make his stance nationally known.

I shake my head. You can count MY governor OUT — but on the other hand, we don’t share the MASSIVE border that Texas does.

Ball’s in YOUR court, now, Texas.

YOU can lead this country. You have this massive opportunity now.

    Where will Texas go?

    BZ

Vigilante, not one word out of place that I see…

I warned him, more than once, I gave him the Comments Policy, and I have NO problem with disagreement, and by the way, I have met Lone Rider, I was a bit surprised at his entrance into this thread…

If he wants to blast MY candidate, cool, do it on HIS blog, uh, wait, he doesn’t have a blog…

If he doesn’t like the candidate I vote for, he can vote for *the other guy*… Uh, damn, he can’t do that, he’s NOT a U.S. citizen… Oops…

I was quite sincere when I told him, NO citizenship, NO vote, NO bitching… He became eligible for citizenship this summer but has yet to go and get it done, procrastination maybe, damn if I know, nor do I really care, he is a legal resident, not a citizen, and he can’t vote.

He had the warnings, he wanted to continue and then attempted to put words into MY mouth… That’s something no one has to do, I say ALL I need to say, and then some… He was looking for some *hidden meaning* I guess… I have NO hidden agenda, I say exactly what’s on my mind and ANYONE that doesn’t like it is more than free to leave…

I gave him his say, and every comment only took him further into the abyss, you see, freedom of speech IS one of our greatest rights, but HE only has a right to FULL FREE SPEECH on his own blog, page, Tweet, whatever… Here he is limited to my very easy to understand, and very few rules…

“no one will be allowed to comment here that comes into this blog and attempts to attack ME, MY beliefs, MY family, MY readers or members of the Military and/or Law Enforcement.

I have to say, I do not understand why our federal government can not seem to get the borders under control. I am not saying it would be easy, but for goodness sake, it seems as if they do not even try. Maybe we could pull some of the troops we have overseas and deploy them to watch the border. Something certainly needs to be done and until it is, the illegals are going to continue coming across. Hopefully, the Texas Rangers will be able to put a damper on the crossings.

This comment is off topic, but I really feel I need to say this:
If you have money in the stock market that you are able to extract, it probably would not be a bad idea to do so. I know there are reasons people can’t do that, but if you can, go to cash. I trade stocks for a living, been doing it for a long time, and this latest rally is a gift of recovering some of the losses and getting out. Check with your own money advisors, but understand that the market is not going back to previous levels. If it did, it wouldn’t mean anything in “real money” terms, because the US dollar would be toilet paper by then.
I’ll understand if you don’t post this Fred, I just feel a moral duty to give a warning when I know something is very rotten. I have nothing to gain from saying this. For the record, I told family and friends the same thing back in 2007.
