Say Anything: This Time, Our Sin Wasn’t Apathy

March 23rd, 2010 . by TexasFred
I have a good friend that goes by the name of U.S. Citizen. I have had the pleasure of meeting this man and his wonderful family! He’s a blogger, a gun dealer and shooter, a husband, a father, a patriot and one of my favorite people. This was gleaned from his blog, Traction Control, and it is my pleasure to present it here!

Say Anything: This Time, Our Sin Wasn’t Apathy

From Jay W. at: Say Anything:

Snippet:

If the health care bill fight has taught us one thing, it’s that the federal government doesn’t care about you. Your opinion doesn’t matter. Your opposition doesn’t matter. Your voice doesn’t matter…

Read the whole thing at the link above.

From U.S. Citizen:

It was not “our sin” that empowered Congress to pass the Intolerable Act that is the Healthcare Reform bill. The “Sin” is upon our so-called “representatives”.

Inured to the criticisms of protests throughout our recent history by groups such as ELF, NOW, G8 protesters, Cindy Sheehan, John Kerry, and others like them, Washington has become “hard-wired” and predisposed to dismiss any opposition from common protesters, the rabble from the street.

Note to Washington: That was your first mistake.

What Washington has not yet realized is that The Tea Party Movement is a fundamentally different type of protest.

It is comprised of U.S. Citizens who are actually concerned about the direction our country is taking.

Our crowds are not “bussed-in” from the inner cities; instead, we fly in from all over the country. We don’t “skip work” to attend; we are more likely to declare a plant-holiday for the day so that we may attend.

We don’t take pre-printed signs or carry a list of talking points for a daily “activist” fee. Instead, we make our own signs and speak our own minds. Admittedly, sometimes the signs and the shouts get too close to the truth that we are communicating. (We readily apologize for messages that are off-topic and unnecessarily offensive.)

By way of introduction to our representatives in Washington, may I present the new protesters who are standing up for the ideals of America:

WE THE PEOPLE

We are – by and large, affluent. Able to easily span the Continent for a Tea Party event – with under 48 hours notice.

We are – by and large, informed. Able to discuss the details of out concerns, citing statute, section and paragraph of the issues at hand.

We are – by and large, influential. This message for example may be linked 200 times today to 200 more articles to be read by 4,000,000. These few paragraphs of truth may propagate faster than the boldest of lies printed by the media.

We are – by and large, unforgiving. Hypocrisy is not a trait we value in our representatives. If you represent your constituents, you have our praise; if not,may your damnation be eternal.

We are – by and large, alert to the tactics employed in Washington that threaten our rights.

And we are – all of us, now watching your next move.

Choose wisely.

WE THE PEOPLE will not be silent. And We Will Prevail.

Excellent!!! Politicians have said the shortest memories in the world belong to American Citizens. Not this time as we will not forget.

This is a travesty, but I agree we won’t be silent and we won’t go quietly.

Signing this bill is Democrat’s and Progressive’s way of saying the Constitution does not matter anymore. Well it does and they don’t.

    Long live the REPUBLIC!

Great post. My worst nightmare is that freedom loving Americans WILL forget between now and November. I plan to do my part to keep the memory of this socialist mugging of the US Constitution fresh in the minds of the voters.

I’ll gaurantee you Mr Longstreet that this fellow WON’T forget,
nor will I let anybody that can read or be within shouting distance forget. These treasonous BASTARDS will NEVER, EVER
get elected again as long as I have a breath in my body or anything to say or do about it. I had 4 uncles, which fought for this country, 2 that never made it back home from WWII, a brother and myself were in Korea, and I am making this very g’dmnd personal. When I go into that voting booth with ballot in hand I ain’t gonna read what it’s about, all I’m gonna look for is IF the candidate that’s running has a (D) associated with his/her name. If they do then the poor bastard will just have to find some other kind of work. Maybe the garbage company ? They are usually hiring around that time of year because of the Thanksgiving holiday when REAL Americans are celebrating and giving thanks. I rest my case

Americans, real Americans will not forget or forgive this trampling of the Constitution and our right either to purchase or not purchase health insurance. One by one the Obama administration is taking away our freedom to make personal choices. The Tea Party movement will grow and intensify because of this new draconian law.
